This is what happens when I only pay attention to dramas and not celebrities. Zhang Wan Yi achieving 80 million, who else has besides the obvious like Xiao Zhan, Yang Zi, and Zhao Lu Si? Lol There are so many markers to measure popularity and success that it gets confusing sometimes. Although the Douban rating was really good and this hitting the charts at number one, but this drama still hasn't hit the right numbers for heat index and there's literally no competition right now?

I'm glad they kept this drama light, so no scenes made me tear up, not even the waterfall scene. Hahah. However, I almost teared up during a few scenes of Xue Ji, so well done.

The conversation Xing Zhou had with Bing Lan was actually really sad. I don't think they've ever had such an honest conversation with each other their whole lives. Too sad it had to end this way. I honestly felt that she liked him because she always admired and looked up to him ever since they were children but got too caught up in her mother's schemes then she was convinced that she just wanted to marry him for the princess title which always kept Xing Zhou at a distance. He, too, misunderstood that she only liked him for the title but she honestly liked him for himself. I mean, who wouldn't? He's handsome, courageous, capable, wealthy, a gentleman, and etc. During those times, it was hard for women to act out of their parents' rule especially in those noble families, so her upbringing harmed her a lot. Anyway, I'm glad she grew up and out of her mother's claws.
