Although I enjoyed The Double, but it was unrealistic in more ways than this drama. The Double's script made the actors, but in here, the actors are what carries the script. Wu Jin Yan is still a weak actress to me, so I'm not surprised that it's WXY who gained the most from the drama's success. Her eyes are blank most of the time and remained the same in most situations. I know...I'm gonna get bashed for having a different opinion.

Late twenties isn't too old right? Hhaha. When I saw the trailers, I thought CXZ chasing LMT made sense. However, actually watching the drama, it doesn't anymore. He has long paid his dues. Why does he still need to chase her? Before watching, I thought her actions and words were cute in the trailer but now, I'm like, why is she playing so hard to get? When there's no need to.

A woman chasing a man will always be different from a man chasing a woman, don't take the word "chase" too literal. I'm not saying for LMT to chase CXZ but she doesn't have to belittle him all the time either. If she has something to say, say it to him in private. He is a lord in the end. She can only say those things because he allows her to, get that through her head. Ever since she regained her memories, she's always telling him to never overestimate his cleverness. Well, didn't she overestimate herself too, being lied to, manipulated, and almost died because of Ziyu? If she was smart, she would've taken the amnesia as a blessing in disguise and move on. Finding every chance to slash him with actions or words is just a no no for me. She carried on with no trauma from CXZ's lies so really, the level of deceit wasn't completely unbearable, nothing so bad happened that it was irreversible. ML already repaid the lies with the hairpin and continues to save her booty all the time YET that's not enough, right? He has to continue chasing her until he's almost dying then she'll forgive him?

Some people didn't enjoy My Journey To You's main leads but I did. When Gong Zi Yu finally discovered that Yun Wei Shan was a Wu Feng spy/assassin, he was upset but that lasted less than an episode. They quickly reconciled and continued as a team/power couple. Okay...the stories aren't the same but that's what I'm getting at. A LOT of these dramas always make the ML chase the FL but it's never really the other way around. Sure, with recent social trends, all these dramas are now female centric, but let's not reduce our MLs down to love puppies who need the FL to function. Ohhh, it's okay if FL moves on and has a life but ML doesn't deserve OR hasn't proved enough to win over the FL when he LITERALLY risked his life 10 times in so many different ways for her. Hahah.

My Journey To You is an example that so often, we forgive the FL so quickly and the ML not so much like in this drama. Yun Wei Shan lied too and her actions would've brought the entire Gong residence, no jianghu, down but ohhh, she had to because she was an orphan....the reasons versus CXZ who has to protect his people from becoming orphans.

Yun Wei Shan is a true example of a mature and intelligent woman. She wasted no time talking.

And why do we have to see the ML suffer and cry over the FL and be jealous? Why can't we have balanced out characters?

I hope they don't cut those scenes.

Yeah, they should've added a scene or two if they're going to make ML this puppyish towards her.

He Zhen respects CXZ. He Zhen was willing to be his concubine out of love for him, so once he rejected her because she realized he loves someone else, it sort of cancels out. Binglan doesn't love CXZ so whether he tells her he loves another woman or not, she doesn't care. She only wants the title and will continue to keep pursuing him even if he will never love her. He Zhen realized she won't ever win his heart and gave up early which is really smart. She was able to read between the lines better than him and LMT.

He wasn't completely wrong about LMT. She returned his money nicely without asking, still honored him after what happened, pissed off his enemy CXZ, and left without further implicating him like a little puppy. I don't see why not push it and try to keep her as a mistress.

Nah, the uncle needs to advise her more than this. He looks smarter than LMT but won't say anything and allows her to lead.

CXZ has become so much more interesting without LMT as of now which is sad for a romance story.

Are we just going to forget that after being slashed in the face by LMT in front of the bullying emperor Ziyu, our ML still found the heart to cover her unintelligent assassination plans at the hunting grounds? After avoiding direct conflict with Prince Sui all these years JUST to waste it on the FL? I find it the most ridiculous that they're trying to make this emperor smart but in actuality, he's a lot dumber than the women around him YET was able to STOP LMT? This is the same emperor who LOSES to CXZ every time he tries to boss our ML around YET our ML can never stop LMT? Make it make sense people. LMT is somehow always ahead of CXZ in actions and in words YET loses out to Ziyu YET Ziyu is an amateur to CXZ in every way. These few episodes have shown how smart CXZ truly is, so why make him so dumb when it comes to LMT? Does LMT have to always win CXZ to make her smart? Anyway, that's how I feel.

I agree with you. They should give us some of her inner thoughts or private scenes with words to balance out ML's overt and flashy feelings that he's still hung over her. The acting or brief scenes aren't enough. So sad, not enough angst. If they're gonna change up the story mind as well make it as angsty as possible. Like if you're gonna do something bad, go all the way or follow the original. Being in between is not satisfying any side, it's lazy and safe writing which is very annoying.

His eye game is the hidden charm.
