Yeah, they overdramatized the fire in the cave and hairpin scenes. At least the hairpin scene, they were by themselves. But the fire one, her threat was soooo uncalled for. She was going to burn him alive with his soldiers as an audience was too mean. That is again belittling him. I'm starting to have my doubts in the writer now too. They're making LMT too harsh JUST to show how smart she is, so intelligent that she's always a step ahead of CXZ. Thus, able to kill him but chooses not to. Well, as much as they try to dim his light to make hers look brighter, he isn't dumb. He's just the bigger person and at this time, loves her more, so knowing it was a trap, he still showed up. Knowing that lying to her was a necessary part to catch a bandit, he placed all the blame upon himself, and gave her his life as repayment.
I still feel that although the drama took a different turn from the novel, I'm glad WCR was still able to show LMT's vulnerable and soft spot for CXZ, so the scene wasn't a total waste.
Why do people expect CXZ to be morally upright all the time when he's dealing with morally corrupt enemies? He'd be dead by now if he didn't play the game their way sometimes. We're dealing with life and death here where sometimes, feelings don't matter.
The implication is our FL was actually Ziyu's woman until CXZ set her up as his mistress.
Thatโs not true. FL already cut all ties with Ziyu even before CXZ came into the picture. Secondly, like CXZ told his mother, LMT was never his mistress. She has been living as his one and only rightful wife.
