Iām going to keep watching this drama with all the changes to see if āThe whole is greater than the sum of its parts.ā The writing has been good so far, so maybe Iāll trust the process even if there are unnecessary scenes, love triangles, and dumbing of the ML.
Honestly, it has been irking me how LMT has been taunting CXZ ever since regaining her memory as Lu Wen. Her remarks of whoās stronger, Lord Huaiyang or the bandit leader and how many times has he won to such a small villain yet Lord Huaiyang canāt even catch and many moreā¦like girl, just stop. Others find it clever but I find it a bit annoying right now. You donāt have to openly compare all the time to show your cleverness. LMT had always been a subtle intelligent woman in the drama during adverse situations but now, sheās too talkative as Lu Wen. Itās unbelievable that CXZ couldnāt figure her out the moment she began plotting as Lu Wen. She doesn't need to belittle him all the time in his face and think it's smart by taking secret jabs at him. He has never belittled LW. He praised LW. It doesn't make sense that in the flashback scene of the lanterns, she saw him as a worthy opponent when here, in front of her, she finds every chance to belittle him. Writers don't make her arrogant, it's not cute.
It doesnāt matter if LMT thinks CXZ only loves the ācanaryā version of her. The bottoms line is: she knows he genuinely loves her YET still uses him. Of course, she never asked for it and partly doing everything right now to take down Sun Yun Er but ehhh, weāll see how this goes.
I still love them as a pair though. Itās still interesting enough for me to invest my time and love.š„°

I think LMT got over his lies pretty quick. That night when she cried and coughed out blood after running out of their bed was the last time we saw the kind LMT. After she began burning the names, she also began plotting to leave him. I donāt think sheās confused anymore. The last few episodes have shown us that sheās gathering up her people and will leave when the time is right which she did in Episode 22. She no longer cares or thinks heās important anymore like the amnesia LMT. Itās not that sheās being cold towards him, she is COLD towards those sheās about to cut ties with.
I like Episode 22 in that after finding out her identity, he, too, also leaves their shared bed and cries off in his own corner like she previously did. Two people who dearly love each other but coming to realization that they canāt be together now. After this night, LMT knows that he knows her identity so thereās no need to hide and play anymore thus she left at the end of the episode today.
