I understand the trauma.
Yeah, I do. Any type of betrayal is traumatizing, so I'm not going to downplay people's issues. But kudos for that person for still watching the drama to Episode 30 at least. 😊

The SFX and fights in this drama really suck. The way Qing Lin died, lol did some highschool kid choreographed…
This drama set the tone on what type of person Yuan Qi is from the get go in Episode 1 with Feng Yin's death. Yuan Qi remains consistent and that is how he falls in love with A Yin who is lower than a nobody. That's why they added Lady Hong Chou later on to contrast his humble persona as well. Yuan Qi is a true god but unlike other gods, he doesn't use his status or identity to make excuses for his mistakes, to get out of trouble, or to have others forgive him for his actions. Although he unintentionally killed Feng Yin, he wanted to take responsibility for her death. She's the fire Phoenix, the next queen of that clan. If it had been anyone else and not him who had done that, they'd be executed right on the spot with no resurrection. So that's why he volunteered and risked his life to revive Feng Yin. Everyone's life is as important as his. That's why even though he didn't know Feng Yin, he promised to bring her back even if that costed him his life or a death tribulation. He didn't have to know her or like her romantically to try to redeem his mistakes. He didn't want her to die because of his carelessness. He's genuinely a kind person and that's how he got used by Hua Shu, too.

I have watched both ALP and The Last Immortal but I have rewatched The Last Immortal now 4 times and I also gone…
I agree. ZLS is quite well rounded. Although there's still some room to grow, she's probably the best of her generation. I honestly didn't watch this drama for anyone. I've been a fan of ZLS because most of her dramas are good, but I don't necessarily follow her or just her work. I'm more of a drama fan. I sort of knew WAY, seen him here and there, but he left a great impression on me after this drama. I thought ZLS couldn't do another cute character, but this one totally proved me wrong. ZLS can still be cute and a different character. This drama was a perfect collaboration for ZLS and WAY!❤️ Now let's pray they get a modern drama next with WAY being a bad boy because apparently this one, he was too weak. Haha. He was too green for the viewers.

Honestly, I think it has a lot to do with the director's camera angles and the editor's finalized shots. There…
Yup, she really poured her heart out as A Yin in the dubbing process, had to relive that life again but fully, as the CGI had been added which makes it 100 times more real than when they were filming it with green screens. Kudos!❤️

Love it. Also wanted to add, he wanted to protect Hong Yi and made sure it said he got him drunk twice. Also,…
Hahah, yep, twice. If I were Feng Yin, I'd probably stay away from Yuan Qi too! 😂😂

That I can agree with, the fighting scenes could've been better. I didn't even catch how Qing Lin's right hand died the first time around. 😂

As for the face, ZLS is first billed in here, it doesn't hurt to use her. That's who everyone wants to see anyway. 😊

I'm starting to understand why they renamed this drama from Hidden God to The Last Immortal. Perhaps they didn't want people obsessing over what is a true god or what true gods can or cannot do or if a true god was to do that then they're not god enough. There's not much focus on the god realm at all in this drama, so it's best to leave it out.😙

Just finished watching Yuan Qi and Feng Yin's wedding, again, for the 100th time. It's one of the most simple yet beautiful love confessions ever. The entire scene from when Yuan Qi disclosed that he intentionally got Hong Yi drunk, confessing that he's been in love with Feng Yin for a thousand years, to admitting that he's robbing the bride, to changing into his groom clothes, to asking her to take him as her husband, to giving her all of him, the Qingchi Palace and marry into Wutong Island, to saying his sincere vows, the music begins playing, they bow to each other, those stares, those happy micro movements on their faces, so perfect.

True god or not, when it comes to love, there is no status or barrier between him and A Yin. He's willing to come down from his high and mighty true god background to stay beside her; if that isn't love, what is? What is the point of living as a true god full of pride and dignity towards the one you love? And given that he accidentally killed her, he has to go to this extreme to gain her love again and stay beside her before he's gone. He already lost her once, losing his composure, dignity, or pride as a true god means nothing to him at this point. He rather die than live as a true god people glorify as strong forever without her. He's shameless, yes. But that's because being a righteous god gained him nothing but suffering. I'm glad Yuan Qi doesn't function as a true god. He wasn't raised like one, doesn't want to be one, and won't lose the one he loves for that identity.❤️

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with his works. My parents watched his movies. I'm a fan of The Grandmaster, though. It was beautifully shot. The storyline, cast, to acting were good too. Blossoms Shanghai on the other hand was a disappointment. But oh well, he can't have it all. 😙

Right?! They cut out his scream which would've added. The kissing scenes should've been longer too because both are such good kissers.

I feel like they switched editors halfway or something. They had better close up shots in the first 15 episodes or so then later, they were just obsessed with zoomed out shots.

A Jin gradually falls in love with A Yin but doesn't fully realize it until Episodes 9-10. That is when he makes…
I loved what Gu Jin said to Hua Shu. He was like, let's never see each other ever again. Hahaha. It can't be any clearer than that without coming off rude. Gu Jin will always be a gentleman even towards his enemies.

Gu Jin has always had a soft spot for A Yin. They make it so evident that he already began falling for her when they saved Hong Yi in the abyssal prison. The moment she risked her life to fly to him with the disguising cloth, he was a changed man. Hahah. Then shortly after when he learned that she was using her internal core to heal him, he forbid her to do so ever again, not for him or anyone else, yelled at Bibo, and refused her healing at the waterfall, then of course, fought in the thunder bird competition just so she can heal Hong Yi without shortening her life.

What I'm saying, Gu Jin is a really good guy. He was lied to by Hua Shu and it's not like he has evidence or has seen her ugly side, so he had no reason to dislike Hua Shu. BUT even when he thought he liked Hua Shu, he never once hurt A Yin with that crush. He ALWAYS protected A Yin from anyone who demeaned her. Even when Hua Shu accused A Yin of lying when A Yin told Gu Jin that Hua Shu stood him up not because she was sick but was on a date with someone else, when Hua Shu pulled out that lie detector test thing on A Yin, instead of getting mad at A Yin for causing discord between him and Hua Shu he got mad at Hua Shu for using such an evil method. What he said to Hua Shu was soooo on A Yin's side, too. In other dramas, when the male lead likes someone else before the female lead, he does some very hurtful and dumb stuff but in here, Gu Jin doesn't. Well, besides giving away the umbrella, but that's it.

if you watch TLI after ALP you'll definitely be disappointed coz All true gods had mighty appearance but when…
You're so right, even as true gods, they can't control how love affects them. I'm so ready to watch ALP after this from reading everyone's posts about the drama.

I actually really liked the scene when Yuan Qi and Hong Yi finally had a moment after a thousand years to just talk and yes, they needed the liquor to loosen their hearts and mouths, those stubborn boys. They both apologized to each other for the hurt they've caused one another although it wasn't intentional. It was a very good scene that showed they're just boys trying to live their best lives. They compete so fiercely against one another YET won't let the other get hurt.

You're welcome. :) I also wanted to add, anyone who has seen Love Like the Galaxy can agree that the cinematography team, the director, the editors, and etc. knew what they were doing. The camera angles caught all of the emotions so well. They focused on things that would make the audience fall for.

If anyone thinks that cinematography doesn't make a difference, yes it does. Look at Blossoms Shanghai, the story line is very weak but the cinematography is insanely good, so it balances the cons. Of course there are other things that made that drama popular like the cast and director but just saying, cinematography is very important and sadly, they didn't do this drama justice.

Or try comparing unedited photos to edited ones with vibrant colors, then zoom in on certain angles and stuff, you'll get different feels.

No one kill me, but why isn't Li Yun Rui playing the ML...I feel ZERO chemistry between the two leads, and I know…
Honestly, I think it has a lot to do with the director's camera angles and the editor's finalized shots. There were quite a few times where they should've zoomed in for closer shots of the eyes and face, but that didn't happen. It has nothing to do with the actors. Even some BTS clips have better angles and that sucks. So when that happens, you know it's the production team that is lacking. In the BTS, you can see the entire cast giving their all but all of that is sort of taken out or lessened after the cutting board.

For example, Episode 14. The part where A Yin wears her pretty green dress and follows Gu Jin to make a new contract was a REALLY good shot that displayed their chemistry. Why? Because that scene zoomed in on their eyes and face which showed a lot of sunshine and lovey dovey feelings. WAY is a great actor but even better when the camera zooms in on his face. Yes, it makes a difference.

Examples of bad angles or shots in general that didn't use the climatic scene properly. Episode 25, the entire scene of Yuan Qi standing there heartbroken, trying to protect A Yin from the death penalty, yet has to hurt her in some deep way, there were close to none zoomed in shots and he was crying the entire time. They didn't even let him finish when he yelled at the Spirit Sword to withdraw. They zoomed out! Why?!!! Another example of bad editing is Episode 30, when he corners Hua Shu saying if it wasn't for her and Lan Feng letting him borrow those items, he wouldn't have let her lived...they again, cut his scene short to zoom in on her foot! Like why???!! Those two are super intense and important scenes and they couldn't even get them right. Then of course, all the kissing scenes BTS look wayyy better than the final cut. This drama really tried to not dwell too long on emotional scenes when the entire story was supposed to, the way it's written. But oh well, it is what it is.

I think WAY did great as Yuan Qi. He didn't underperform but yeah, we all have our own different take. I do see the stark contrast between Yuan Qi and his character in Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty. Anyone who has seen that drama would think WAY is underperforming in here which I think isn't true. They're different characters and of course, different productions. Yuan Qi becomes Feng Yin's pet puppy. 😂😂

I really like LYR too. I think he's about to or maybe already filming a project where he's the male lead. Congrats to him! In contrast to your opinion, not many Chinese to international fans have a strong second male lead syndrome in here, so maybe that sort of confused some of us. I'm not just referring to MDL because the real audience that counts is in China and LYR is cute but didn't make a splash over WAY. I totally get that though because as A Jiu and Hong Yi in here, his love for A Yin wasn't overbearing, annoying, or got in the way, so it wasn't a strong love connection there to create a SML sensation. I prefer it that way. I like it when love isn't selfish from the one siders.
