I'm enjoying and appreciating this drama more and more with each rewatch. When I first watched it, I was so eager and anxious about how it would turn out, so I was sort of split in the anticipation. However, rewatching it again definitely allows me to watch every minute without mentally being rushed, so the story is even more beautiful. I still stand by my original words that the love story, although very xianxia-ish, is a unique and memorable one. The character development, growth, precious youth, to being torn apart from imposed responsibilities, life and death decisions, redemption, and a happy ending is still such a worthwhile adventure for those of us who have seen it and those who haven't. You may not like it now but come back in a few years and try again. I just finished my rewatch, so gathering my thoughts again on how I feel about this drama. 😂

Yeah, if their love line isn't in the novel, only in the drama, then I guess we're free to assume. 😂

It wasn't clear in the drama and I'm not sure if the book mentions it but can we assume that A Yu and Qing Yi, maybe later on if the story continues, get together? If so, it's another parallel. A Yin was discussing her plans with Qing Yi regarding finding a suitable partner to repopulate the water divine beast clan with. Haha.😂

Very true. I understand. I've always preferred novels over live adaptations.

He's starts off carefree with basic skills then eventually gets more powerful, but if you're looking for epic fight scenes that showcase his powers, there's not much of that here.

The majority of xianxias that I've watched have the MLs so powerful already. That's probably why I was attracted to this drama. It was a breath of fresh air seeing the ML make mistakes, struggle, and be ordinary for once. We watched YQ grow from being a pampered doted lazy child into a self sacrificing true god. I mean, even if all those other MLs were super powerful from Episode 1, it's not like the villains were eradicated right away. They, too, made mistakes and their decisions lead to breaking the FLs hearts in some way. I just don't see why there's so much hate on YQ here at MDL. Xianxias have the same formula but their own unique story.

Yep, I'm giving ALP a chance and definitely won't keep TLI in mind when I watch it. I love the father and son analysis. Both MLs have done so much for the their loved ones and realms.

Hong Yi and Yan Shuang were truly awesome friends. They didn't want to get married without Yuan Qi and didn't want to sadden Feng Yin with their good news, so they waited and waited. Like who does that?! They're the best besties!❤️

Ultimately, baby Yuan Qi's mistakes redeemed Ming Qi, the ultimate bad guy, so not a lost after all. He just suffered so much.🥲

I agreeee. The parallels are endless. The hugs during each of their death scenes were so good. I really liked the short dialogue when Yuan died. There was nothing else left to say since his actions over a thousand years proved them all. ZLS acted so naturally heartbreaking and WAY was so dashing, those glistening eyes.

Protect baby Yuan Qi at all costs! 😙
