I’m up to ep4 and so far, I’m quite enjoying this show! It’s a light and funny drama with a pretty simple, cliché plot that works in its favor. The female lead is likable, funny, and a bit of an airhead, but bearable haha One aspect I found anticlimactic though, was how quickly and easily the FL seems to adapt to her new world in the first episode. I was expecting a bigger and more serious reaction. But judging by the overall tone of the drama, I'll let it slide. As for the ML he embodies the typical tsundere style, hard on the outside but soft on the inside, which is nothing new but still amusing. I also find the snake character super adorable, especially his interactions with the leads! Btw the chemistry between the two leads seems really sweet! ><
It’s a censored BL, not just bromance. If you prefer Thai BLs, good for you. There are definitely some rare…
Going by your logic, you clearly think sarcasm = a solid argument. Just because you can’t tell the difference between subtext and friendship doesn’t mean it’s not there. Media nuance isn’t worms for brain stuff it’s just called critical thinking.

Does the word censored bl trigger you that much to come and reply under me multiple times in this comment section? There’s a clear difference between BL, censored BL and bromance. I hope some day you will be able to tell all 3 of them apart.
Sure, just bromance...Let's ignore all the subtle cues like shared gazes, physical closeness and emotional dialogues…
Yeah, there are Chinese BLs now but let’s not pretend they exist freely. Most of them came through loopholes, with creators walking on eggshells to avoid censorship. The uncensored ones got taken down fast in mainland China or never even aired and now actors and staff could even face repercussions for it by being blacklisted. Works like The Untamed, Word of Honor etc. were made under heavy restrictions and it’s a disservice to the people who brought those stories to life to reduce them to “bromance.” Even Chinese audiences were decoding double meanings in the dialogues and the symbolisms used on some scenes that only the native audience could tell but there are youtube clips explaining them like avenux. I guess some of you just want everything spelled out to feel it's "valid." If it's not loud or explicit enough, you act like it doesn't count. But not everything has to scream to be heard especially in places where screaming gets you silenced.
If you’ve watched both LYN dramas, 'The Prisoner of Beauty' and 'A Dream Within a Dream', which one would you…
For me it's TPOB all the way! Both shows have a strong and compelling opening but unfortunately, ADWAD kind of fumbles a bit on the latter half for me. In contrast, TPOB managed to keep my attention throughout the entire series. I think this is because I was genuinely invested in the story until the end. Ultimately, it comes down to your personal preferences. TPOB is the best enemies to lovers story I've seen so far in 2025, while I can't say the same for ADWAD in the transmigration genre.
The chemistry between the leads was one of the best aspects of this drama, honestly. Fortunately, the romance was only a subplot but I was still excited to see the development of their relationship this season! I hope they will at least try to find a suitable replacement and continue to develop the story well because I really enjoyed S1 and would hate to see S2 go downhill.
It really depends on how you look at it… For me, it was a bittersweet one. But honestly, as someone who usually only watches happy endings myself, I don’t regret watching this one a bit. The plot is that good and unique it would be a shame to skip it just because of how it ends!
Just a heads-up: if you're a scaredy-cat like me, I recommend watching during the day. Some episodes can get a bit intense for the faint of heart. But aside from that, it's truly an amazing show there’s nothing else quite like it out there right now. I wish we could get more adaptations of this kind.

But it's the truth though. I clearly said I know they have some good ones but it's just compared to the amount they put out each year majority of them are mid. And sure do share, I am always open to some good recommendations, I just hope I haven't watched them already.
Not bad for a bromance. but I prefer Thai ones hehe
It’s a censored BL, not just bromance. If you prefer Thai BLs, good for you. There are definitely some rare gems there I have enjoyed too, but overall, a lot of them feel pretty mid and focused on NC scenes if you ask me. I wish there was more investment in quality over quantity when it comes to the Thai ones.
This is art. Look, I love BL, but when the acting and story are top-notch, nothing else is needed. A very light…
Sure, just bromance...Let's ignore all the subtle cues like shared gazes, physical closeness and emotional dialogues to convey the romantic feelings between the leads. Just the fact that this is adapted from a Chinese BL makes it more than "bromance". The limited physical intimacy is a result of the government's censorship, not a lack of romantic intent. And the actors and crew did the best they could to convey this. It’s honestly kind of ironic how some people criticize these censored Chinese BLs for “not being BL enough” just because they lack kisses or overt physical affection as if love can only be validated through that. There are countless older classic straight films where the main couple barely touch, yet no one questions their status as lovers. But when it's two men, suddenly it’s dismissed as just bromance?
The drama started off so well funny and engaging. But now that I’ve reached ep24 I can’t help but find the FL incredibly annoying and self-absorbed. The ML has gone through so much and genuinely suffered, yet she continues to act like she’s the one who’s been betrayed the most and doesn't try to empathize with him. And this is after she already knows the full story too! Like seriously, can she stop for a sec and actually focus on what's happening around her? I hope things get better in the next few eps or it will really be a shame to drop it here. And don’t even get me started on the emperor, he might just be the worst father figure in all of C-drama land. Absolutely no redeeming qualities there.
Edit: After ep28 or so, it does get better again, though still questionable at times. I am currently almost done with it and I have to admit that the last few eps are nicely done and quite emotional! I guess it's truly hard to find a cdrama you can enjoy in its entirety. Most of the time, it will fumble a bit at some point...
I've come across quite a few mixed reviews about this drama on various platforms. So, when I started watching it I had low expectations even though I liked the trailer. And after watching the first 15 eps, I can say I'm genuinely enjoying this! None of the episodes are boring and I love the relationship between the FL and the ML as well as the interactions with the guys from the battalion. I also appreciate the fighting scenes! Maybe my enjoyment comes from the fact that I haven't read the novel. Overall, I think it’s a good drama on its own, though I'm not sure how it compares as an adaptation!
Just a theory after episode 8: So grandpa is grandma and her "husband left" - is this a clue as to why…
Omg you are onto something! FL’s father accepted her mother even after the gender switch, while her grandfather abandoned both her grandmother and their children after it happened. That contrast highlights the whole theme of the series/manhwa honestly "loving someone beyond just their physical form." So maybe the key to resolving everything isn’t just Ji Eun’s acceptance, but both characters coming to terms with it together.
In Ji Eun's case of "body horror", we can actually see her struggling in these 2-3 scenes where she attempts…
I completely agree! I would love to see more scenes featuring her grandmother and mother. Now that the revelation has happened, I think we might get to see more of them moving forward. But since this is a rom-com I doubt they will delve too deeply into these more serious discussions.
One aspect I found anticlimactic though, was how quickly and easily the FL seems to adapt to her new world in the first episode. I was expecting a bigger and more serious reaction. But judging by the overall tone of the drama, I'll let it slide.
