They'll probably do the trope where she meets a reincarnated version of the king (same actor) in the modern world…
Yeah so far, but honestly Scarlet Heart had a pretty light opening too. However, you never know what the director/writers might choose to do lol I assume this will lead to some angst later on, though I'm not sure it can reach the same level as Scarlet Heart. Hopefully, they will make it a satisfying HE one!
From what I understand so far from the first few episodes, both countries appear to have incompetent rulers. On the ML's side, his brother has allowed a concubine to cause quite a havoc in their kingdom. Meanwhile, on the FL's side, the emperor is so suspicious and paranoid that his “precautionary measures” are doing more harm than good. As the saying goes, “If the ruler doubts his general, he destroys his own army.” It looks like our prince will need the help of the enemy country aka the FL to restore order to his nation. Btw I have a question for those who have read the novel since I already have some scenarios about the ending lol : Will the ML take over and govern his nation with the FL in the end, or will he leave everything behind to his brother (if he is still alive) or nephew and choose to live with the FL in her country after all the chaos is done? How does the novel wrap it up?
It took me 1-2 eps to get into it, but I'm already on ep 5 now and the whole vamp scene in this ep had me blushing! At first, I thought this show would be like LOTFG without any supernatural elements and kinda lost interest but I'm glad to see that isn't the case! The whole blood puppet/master dynamic between the leads has made the show much more interesting and fun to watch! Plus I'm excited for when the ML's memory will comeback! I mean if I were to have one complaint, it's that FL looks too soft/bubbly and doesn't give me Female General vibes. Her voice being on the softer side doesn't help much either...But oh well I've decided to ignore that for now since I like the actress's acting otherwise.
That scene where he suggested giving her royal favor and adding her to his harem despite her supposedly not being his type, followed by her hard slap, had me rolling on the floor!😭🤣
in books they meet in real world but i think they will give us SE in drama by watching the book ............the…
Yes I know hence why I said the above, but why must they stop the cycle before they can meet in the modern world?? I can't take another IU museum scene...That trauma was enough!
I finally couldn't hold back and decided to watch this. And honestly, only 20 minutes in and the book scene has already confirmed my suspicion that this will probably be another "Scarlet Heart" type of series ending wise (I really hope it can be quality-wise as well). I believe her time traveling altered history and she probably wrote that "ancient recipe" book or at least was based on her recipes and the King being called a tyrant gourmet has smth to do with her too. Which also implies that she will definitely return to her world, leaving the King behind... At least I hope that this time we'll get to see the leads together in the modern world!
I’m really so glad I let this marinate for a bit after ep17, cause now that I’m catching up, I feel like I’m about to lose my mind scratching the walls! I can't stand watching Sima Jiao suffer anymore. I can't wait to catch up to ep25 cause things seem to finally get sweeter again!
Currently watching ep19 and crying like a baby...The amount of guilt SJ must have felt at that moment..."Killing" his most precious person with his own hands without realizing it TT And how come those righteous sects always end up being the most evil?? I miss their fluffy romantic moments already....
Cute, funny, and heart-fluttering… but what exactly did this drama teach us? That mothers shouldn’t accept…
I mean dramas aren't always meant to convey only positive messages. Otherwise, we wouldn't see horror and psychological shows at all, right? And just because certain themes are depicted here doesn't mean they were presented in a favorable light, even though the rom com genre tends to soften their impact.
The scene with the mother felt realistic for an average Korean/Asian mother to me, especially since her daughter described her as close-minded. And why not also highlight the father and sister, who were supportive instead? As for Minju, I took away some important signs to recognize in order to avoid potential red flags in my own life if anything lol While the writers may have exaggerated her mix of toxic traits, individuals like her do exist somewhere out there.
Personally, I didn’t find the show to be homophobic. I believe there’s a nuanced difference between this show and that but of course, everyone is entitled to their own perspective.
And I completely agree that Jung Hoo did an excellent job portraying his character here! For me, he was one of the highlights of this show. I really hope he gets more opportunities in the future!
I finally watched the last episode and what can I say... I absolutely loved it! Despite all the ups and downs throughout the series, this final episode was the perfect wrap-up for me!
And finally, Minju's obsession has come to an end lol. The way she realized she didn't even like him when they were left alone abroad was so telling. She was just obsessed with a version of Younjae she had created in her head all along. Also you can't "return" smth you never had... This girl was delulu all the way lmao
On another note, my favorite side couple Yuri and Minhyuk looked so lovely together and I really enjoyed their confession scene! And last but not least, I adored the reunion scene between the leads in the cafe while the first snow was falling outside! The way it mirrored their first meeting, with JiEun as Jihun along with all the flashback scenes and emotional dialogue, filled me with warmth!
"I could only get through this because I had you by my side. As long as I was with you, it didn't matter to me if I were a woman or a man. I was just happy." "From now on, it doesn't matter to me whether you are Kim JiEun or Kim JiHun. I just want you." Finally, Younjae reached the stage of acceptance fr!
Also, the ending meant while showing the wall full of photos of Younjae with JiEun/JiHun was the perfect final scene! "Our day-to-day lives are miracles from the universe. It's also love" My pookies!
so hypothetically if my girlfriend turns into a man id be okay with it cause im bisexual
No cause same lmao When I first saw the show, that was my initial thought too. It would definitely be a bit of a shock at first sure and it could bring some differences into our daily lives, but overall I would be able to accept it.
Yoon Jae is a slow puppy - takes him a while to figure things out. But smart enough to get into Cornell, huh?…
I believe high IQ does not always require high EQ lol This was his first relationship and girlfriend, which is why I think he even stuck around after the whole switch thing! First experiences matter to most people more.

15th century king vs 21st century woman 0:1

8/10 for me! ^^
