Umm I don't think so? Personally, I interpreted that scene in the following way: 1. When she said, "You should have died too, she was expressing her frustration over the unfairness of only her mother dying in the accident while her stepfather survived. It’s as if she was thinking, "If my mother didn't make it, why should you?" This comment reveals her vicious personality even as a youngster...
2. The CEO's remark about "the cycle of people not changing" suggests that his stepdaughter's personality hasn’t changed. He implied that if another threat, like his bio daughter, appears she will react the same way again. And this was actually in response to the FL's assertion that things have changed after so many years and the villains might not take the bait.
The the old guy is definitely not dead because if he was, they would've showed us the scene where he actually…
I had the same suspicion while watching that scene! Perhaps the old man faked his condition for the villains to let down their guard and to ensure their "baiting plan" would work. I believe he is indeed sick and dying though, but I doubt he would trust anyone else with this and would want to witness the outcome himself. For the villains to reveal themselves, both his and the FL's defenses must be lowered. After all, the plan wasn't just to make the siblings lose the inheritance it also aimed to charge them for their crimes...
So if she manages to kick the two siblings out of the Gasung Group, the inheritance will be hers and alls good,…
If it were purely about her not running away with the money, he could have written that clause of the contract differently and it would still have been effective. The murder aspect was a bit excessive imo, that's all. I mean she's already taking a risk and putting her life on the line by inheriting it. So the hardship I was referring to was not the meeting she has to attend and vote in, but rather her need to stay alive until then while playing the bait. I know that the voting itself is a walk in the park for her as long as she has the chairman's shares...
The terms of the pre-marital contract were no joke... It's really not easy to deal with the rich, even the "good"…
So if she manages to kick the two siblings out of the Gasung Group, the inheritance will be hers and alls good, but if she cannot handle them and kick them out, not only is her life on the line (step-daughter will definitely try to take her out) and the inheritance will become void but she will also be charged with the murder of the chairman...Those are some deep murky waters she is walking in...
The terms of the pre-marital contract were no joke... It's really not easy to deal with the rich, even the "good" ones, cause they always have to be the ones with no loss. But it's not like our girl had any better options with all that debt and leech of a mother...
Btw I am pretty sure our strawberry guy is the ML? And most likely their romance will blossom while she is undercover as a kindergarten teacher for her safety in that village~ ><
Loving the first episode! Logically though I don't get the step-daughter. He's not obligated to leave her anything…
From my understanding and past examples of similar plotlines the CEO was a smart man who came from a poor background or at least one without enough capital to start his own business. The woman he married was someone with the money and connections to help him lay the foundation for his bussiness. So, honestly her children deserve some, particularly for the initial investment their mother made. However, it’s clear that it was largely thanks to him that the business grew so much after that. The company probably makes significantly more money now and it has expanded greatly under his leadership.
I think after losing their mother at an early age and growing up in that environment, their greed and bitterness intensified over time especially in the case of the stepdaughter. I genuinely believe the old man wouldn’t mind leaving some of his wealth to them as a form of gratitude to their mother, as he seems like an honest man. But his stepdaughter's actions toward his bio daughter were extremely foolish and made this peaceful end impossible.
OMG the first episode was insanee!! I am so invested!! The way the CEO grandpa decided to marry her and leave all his inheritance to her is truly the ultimate form of revenge against his stepchildren's actions. However, this raises concerns for the FL'S safety because now her life will be in constant danger. Maybe that’s why the CEO specifically wanted a female bodyguard, so that his "wife" could at least defend herself and not be an easy target for the villains like his daughter...
It took me 2-3 episodes to really get into the series but after that, it truly took off! At first, in episode 1 the ML seemed a bit over the top and the rest of the police team came off as sore losers because of how hard the plot was pushing him to shine above everyone else. But I’m glad it improved in the later episodes and we were given more hints about why the ML was so exceptional and how the time loops helped him develop his skills over time!
Btw I was so into this that I ended up binge-watching multiple episodes in a single day. The last episode was incredible and so satisfying to watch! It had me on edge, brought me to tears and then managed to make me smile.
The chemistry between the leads was great, espescially for a non-romance show and the plot was compelling and mysterious enough to keep my attention. Honestly, the ML's team was a delight to watch as they trusted him and followed his lead so faithfully, even if his orders felt questionable to them at times.
Oh and that final scene...Please tell me we’re getting a season 2!
I am sorry but I found the last episode and its ending to be quite rushed and forced, which had me laugh while watching lol As for the sad emotional scene between the leads in the final ep, I didn't feel the sadness or the raw emotions of pain and separation the way I wanted, which was a bit disappointing for me since I had high expectations. Overall, it’s a decent series though that I would recommend, especially if you enjoy Korean food and cooking in general! The comedic parts were also well done. That’s all!
I finally completed this and I have to say that overall, it was quite an enjoyable and interesting ride. The script was solid and the acting by the two leads, especially Go Hyun-jung was immersive. From episodes 6-7 onward, it became quite predictable who the copycat was, but I still appreciated how they maintained the suspense until that point! For me, the real twist wasn’t the identity of the copycat but the revelation regarding the ML’s grandfather...It's also that point plus the whole of episode 8 that made me regard FL as more of a sociopath rather than a psychopath! She was not born this way, but became one thanks to environmental factors like abuse/ trauma she faced from a young age, even her first murder was accidental and I bet the rest were used as a way of release for her "pain" hence why she was also targeting a specific group of men as her prey! If it were a real psychopath (like our copycat) they would lack a true conscience and wouldn't hesitate to kill any human if it served their purpose. Not all psychopaths are serial killers and not all serial killers are psychopaths. Btw I know that sociopath/psychopath terms are old news and now it's known as antisocial personality disorder which has a spectrum but these two terms are far more familiar to most, so I went with it. Anyway, I can’t wait for Season 2 if they decide to go ahead with it!
precisely!!! and those goons are top tier detectives! when are we gonna have a highly skilled and intelligent…
Oh Criminal Minds USA it's definitely top tier and one of the all time best of this genre!! There are some good ones on Kdrama side too like Through the Darkness or Voice series that I liked lots but yeah most end up coming out mid.
That female cop is so unlikable and annoying that whenever she appears on my screen with her obnoxious remarks and personality I feel like scratching the wall... There are only 2 episodes left to finish this and yet her presence makes me want to quit watching it. Both she and most of her team come across as brainless fools anyway who don’t deserve their police badges. It baffles me that she has repeatedly broken protocol and faced zero consequences for her actions! Meanwhile, here they are trying to remove their own leader from the case, even though he contributed the most just cause he is connected to his mother. I just hope their screentime will remain as minimal as possible and honestly the main actress HARD CARRIED this drama on her back throughout!! I guess overall it's a good crime show and they manage to keep you guessing to the very end, but I can't ignore some annoying aspects of the script either...
it shows him using all his extra days to train and learn
I see I just didn't reach that point to know yet. My impression was solely based on the first ep! It's nice to know though that they tried to give an explanation for it!
If you watch it seriously from start to finish, we will see ML's struggle to face the time loop that has occurred…
I haven't watched the whole show yet tonknow that just the first 2 eps, but sure, if he did use the loops to train it will certainly give him an advantage. However based on ep1 that I saw, it was not yet made clear there hence why I found it a bit laughable. That's all.
