I absolutely loved this show! It definitely deserves a higher rating and more attention. I enjoyed the way the main case unfolded slowly while introducing a new side quest each week. Most of the cases were well-crafted and I appreciated the creativity used to solve them. Although some aspects may seem exaggerated and unrealistic, I believe this was intentional at times as comedy is one of the main genres and it blended nicely into the story. That said, it did take me 2-3 episodes to really get into it but after that I became hooked! I honestly can’t wait for Season 2! 8.5/10
Currently watching episode 8 and while I understand the female physician's perspective I can’t help but feel annoyed with her for constantly speaking negatively about the ML and trying to paint him as a terrifying monster. She keeps advising the FL to stay away from him, not to trust him etc. And although I acknowledge that he is a military man with a dark side, she seems to overlook that the other characters her have their own similarities, including the FL who was once a military general herself. It feels like the physician is displaying a bias just against the ML. Plus regarding her "trauma" from witnessing the ML kill those men, I find it hard to understand how that experience traumatizes her, while she appears unaffected by the FL killing numerous assassins that day and only remembers it fondly as FL saving her. How can one scene of bloodshed leave such a strong impression on her, while the other seems to have no impact at all?
Just started this today and I'm already 3 episodes in and totally hooked! I can already feel the enemies to lovers and the angst brewing. This is going to be one deliciously messy and intriguing ride! >< It’s honestly giving me TPOB vibes and I’m really hoping it lives up to that!C-dramas are absolutely killing it with the enemies to lovers trope this year and I’m so here for it!
For a first attempt at an omegaverse BL adaptation I would say it was pretty solid overall, without coming off as cringy as I was expecting it to be. However, I am a bit disappointed with the latest episodes because they rushed things a bit too much with both couples while spending an unnecessary amount of time on repeated or stagnant plot elements midway through the show.
And I also agree with others that the 2nd couple did not get enough screen time to develop properly. That said, as someone who has read multiple omegaverse stories with a similar plot to their setting I wasn't too upset about it though lol The 1st main couple intrigued me much more due to the "originality" of the alpha/enigma dynamics. I really enjoyed watching our little psycho Hua and his antics! He was by far the most interesting and fun character for me.
So yeah, the script could have been better written and directed, the acting was okay overall plus I liked the OST and also this got quite the big production which makes the scenes quite pleasing and realistic for the lavish lifestyle the characters play. For a first attempt at this setting I think it's worth a watch~
I also like how Yoo-Sik is caring towards Won-Kyu just in the little things.
Right?? That scene with the ointment was so adorable and since they are roommates they must also talk a lot before bedtime~ I really like the vibes and closeness of the male cast this year >< I just hope it will last lol
Honestly, the pair I am most invested in so far this season is Yoosik & Baekhyun😂 I LOVE the bromance and good vibes they are sharing with us haha I really hope they become friends after the show~>< Btw I am def enjoying this season the most!! If they keep it up, it will surely become my fave!!
End scene from ep14 was epic!! The "3 million" line drop in the auction along with her attitude toward Fanf Lei and her husband, shows just how fiery she is getting now! My girl is literally ready to burn herself and everyone else down with her! Since love is now but a distant dream for her, she has decided to fully embrace the role her husband chose for her. If she can't get a divorce, she might as well take everyone down with her. It's a bit sad, but also pretty badass! I only hate her misunderstanding Feng lei and Haoming's relationship but with her husband's attitude, it's hard not to think about it...
After watching episode 18, it'll change your opinion about him.
But that's the problem XY though she lied it was never with evil intent and he can see her love for him so why act like a jerk to her too?? He could say what he wanted without being extra mean and cruel to her...Hah...Hopefully when I reach ep18 I truly get him.
I'm currently watching ep14 and honestly for someone who is supposedly educated and of high standing Haoming is nothing but a BIG scoundrel to me rn! How can he not realize that the only lie she ever told him was just so that she could keep him by her side? Even though he claims to understand that Xu Yan ended up genuinely loving him, he still says such cruel things to her and calling her a fraud. From a viewer's standpoint he really made her feel like dirt in this ep! And I simply can't tolerate this attitude! As if he didn't hide a whole lot of his own...
Like a little bit of compassion towards the woman who loved you and gave everything she got to you doesn’t hurt, even if you supposedly don’t love her back. I'm sure he does have feelings for her but just hasn’t realized it yet. Once the divorce happens and he’s left alone, that’s when it will all dawn on him! Some people don’t realize the value of others in their lives until they lose them! I want to see him suffer and chase her shadow before they get back together!
Btw when is Fang lei leaving our screen permanently?! I can't handle her ass anymore I need her gone and dealt with!!
By ep 11 the FL's rose-tinted glasses have begun to fade... Which allows both her and the viewers to see more clearly that the ML's promises of love and affection are built like a sandcastle. His expressions of love feel transactional, his touches and words of affection come across as automatic and nearly emotionless. It's so hard to witness this, especially knowing the sacrifices the FL has made and continues to make for him. Sacrifices that have reached an unhealthy level imo. In her quest to love him, she has given away too much of herself.
Currently watching ep9 and I absolutely love this cdrama! Everything from the plot to the cinematography and casting flows so beautifully. The struggle and lies trying to hold everything together feel as if they are sand slipping through her fingers slowly. And it’s not just her, I can sense that the ML is also having a lot of secrets of his own. For instance, I’m almost certain he knows about her real background. He seems like the type to run background checks on people based on examples I've seen so far in the drama, so he is definitely not the type to trust others' intentions easily(which makes perfect sense honestly considering his background). Plus, early on when her parents showed up at her apartment, he created a distraction so his own parents wouldn't run into them at the perfect timing, which felt very deliberate to me!
Honestly, it’s so exhausting to constantly pretend and live on edge, working tirelessly to prove yourself as someone resourceful for those you love. Love should bring out the best in us, not slowly eat away at our happiness. But I get the FL cause the reason she acts this way and feels the need to go to such lengths has also to do with the way she was raised (and I don't mean the few good years she spent with her grandma).
I honestly can't wait to see how things will unfold from here! Btw Zhao Lusi just keeps getting better and better at her craft! I was quite surprised by how thin she looks here though, especially after knowing the reason behind it. I hope she gets healthy and makes a bright comeback whenever she feels ready!
