Hmm I wouldn't say I hate her, and I could even relate with some of her side of the story but she did leave a bad taste in my mouth most of the time while watching. However, just like you said, I do find her necessary in the drama. I just personally wish they had concluded her arc with SC a bit sooner instead of dragging it out.
I have said it myself before here in the comments that her own family has probably played a part in this; they cultivated her self-centered attitude and troublesome personality. Still, one's own actions are the result of one's own choices and decisions in the end. So I can't say I felt sad for how things played out for her for the most part, but I was glad to see a better version of her in Ep30.

Song cong is a pervert.. In the beginning i thought song cong is a walking green flag but after the end i get…
Pfft honestly, I don’t get how you’ve reached such a wild conclusion lmao
QiQi initiated the kiss, and it's not like they hadn’t known each other for YEARS before that moment, plus there was already a failed confession from QiQi before the kiss happened. The kiss was just the catalyst that gave them the green light to finally start their relationship. Which is something that occurs in irl too.
As for his kiss with Duman, it was consensual too. Their connection had been slowly developing while they were working together in the hospital. It wasn’t just about the kiss in itself but more of a confirmation of their feelings.
And are you really going to act like kissing someone who you like makes them a pervert? Saying he’s only interested in physical stuff after two kisses with his love interests? And just so you know, physical attraction is a part of love.
Maybe you are just too immature or from a very conservative background to comprehend that tho...
Lastly, QiQi and SongCong didn’t work out because of their differing personalities and ideals. They gave it a shot, and it wasn’t right for them. And no, it wasn’t love at first sight with QiQi, but you can’t say he never cared about her. He genuinely tried to make it work, but their worlds and personalities just didn’t align.
And let's not act like QiQi’s some innocent angel. She has her own issues, especially with her character. Let’s not forget all the stuff she pulled with Huan Er and the rest lol

I wasn't a huge fan of how the drama undermines natural talent and tried to force the message that only studying…
Actually if I remember correctly his mother never forced him to study, his uncle who taught his fighting and even Se hyun both sugested to him why does he have to study and not do sports instead? But it was MC himself who was obsessed with studying here and wanted to form a study group so bad. Maybe because his father was a genius or cause he just likes studying even if he is not talented at it or wielding good results... So how and why to push him towards sports when he himself wishes to study instead?
Except if your critisim is towards the writer themselves who created such a character, then idk...

This whole time I saw people saying how korean GL is better and “superior” to thai GL and yet at the end it’s…
The only thing that Thai GL series can overpower Kdrama GL is the skinship aspect and I would say same goes for the BL ones...Only 2-3 Thai series out of 50+ they produce every year are worth watching since most suck in acting, script and directing...And that's why they have excess use of r rated scenes to cover for that loss and give fanservice to the fans who will eat it up either way.
The chemistry and use of eye acting and subtle touches done in Kdrama/Cdrama of "censored" works for me sometimes hit even harder than some Thai series having two of them shoving tounges down eo's throats lol But maybe it's also because I am more of a fan of "romantic love" rather than one relied and confirmed only by ppl showing it physically.
It's actually what drew me away from western shows and into Asian shows all together cause even in straight K/Cdrama there is lack of physical activity and show love being confirmed in various other shapes and forms which I love.

novel material.
Oh right these events occur across different timelines in the novel, so I guess they didn't feel as overwhelming there. However, in the drama adaptation, they’re condensed and shown one after the other early on in the plot which gives off a different feeling. I think the editing and scriptwriting choices contributed to this overwhelming feeling it gave off. I completely understand and agree that these events are important for understanding the FL's character and actions though, and I’m not suggesting they should have been left out. I just wish they had done a better job spreading them out.

Oh so it was written that way I see...I was thinking what if the scriptwritter skipped some lighter scenes from their high school era or what not but I guess not...

People complaining about Grandpa or second couples...Will be up in arms if I say CDRAMAS SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN…
Honestly this is a case by case occurance! Some cdrama do need that amount of episodes and others don't. It all depends on the scriptwritting, directing and og material! I have watched cdrama with 40 eps that I wish were longer and then others that I wish had half the eps lol All in all, I wish the Cdrama industry had more freedom so that each production could choose themselves the legnth they wish to have!
And personally for TFF I liked the grampa story and the secondary couple since they served for a nice comic relief compared to all the serious and angst topics the leads had going on...
On The First Frost Mar 5, 2025
I am finally 18 episodes into this drama and have started to genuinely enjoy it. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad drama before, it is just far from your typical slice of life romance. Kinda unique and different from all the others I have watched and probably one of the heaviest ever...I do enjoy shows that bring a sense of justice and happiness with a bit of deep feelings, but this one focuses way too heavily on difficult topics like SA for multiple occasions at that and other scenes of mental abuse. There’s too much sad content in the beginning, which made it hard for me to stay engaged, if I am being honest. But now that the leads have finally reciprocated their feelings for one another and started their dating era, it's become sweeter and easier to watch.
Usually, I am not one who shies away from serious topics or can't deal with angst, but I think this cdrama overwhelmed me because it touched on multiple sad topics from the very first episodes and didn't stop the angst from coming ever since...It ended up making me feel too melancholic! So, for me, it kinda lacks when it comes to balancing the show a bit, but then again, I am curious if this is how the novel material was also written and was done intentionally...

I'm so glad my review helped you stick with it! I totally get why it might seem like just another youth drama at first, or how some parts might have felt annoying or dragging but I think it has some hidden gems in it. The frienship of the 3 friends, their arc of family hardships, the sweet romance and wholesome ending make it worth it in many ways for me! I hope you enjoy it more as it goes on as well!

You can't blame her too much, given her home situation, Friendship with FL was the only source of joy in her life,…
The reason I couldn't feel much sympathy for her while watching is the fact that she used FL and their friendhip to get close to Song Cong hence I didn't feel a geniune bond between the two of them...And I found it very hipocritical of QiQi to say she was possesive of Huan er and just wanted her to herself when in reality she was possesive of SC and just felt insecure with how well FL could adapt around others unlike her...I do agree tho that her family played a major role into how her personality was shaped.

I've checked your watch list - you have almost everything there) and it seems (and sounds from the message) that…
Well in real life it would definitely come off way creepier...But since this is a drama and we viewers get to see both characters perspectives you can tell how he felt and why he did it...So he doesn't come off as creepy...Espescially when we also get the FL's side on parallels and the whole back and forth between the timelines which clearly shows his intentions were pure. But this can't be the case for real life cause unlike dramas you can't "see" the ex's real thoughts or know the girl's true feelings so yeah that would be really creepy and it would be best to call the police. Still like I said some can get triggered by it even in this form like you...So yeah I do see him as green flag since the drama showed his full actions and thoughts behind it and since we also had knowledge of FL's true feelings for him aka she never wanted to break up, she just had to do it due to circumstanses.
Usually I let some things in drama/manhwa pass that I would never tolerate in real life under any circumstances and that's one of them. It's the whole writting/directing that makes them look harmless since you "know" the character's intentions but in real life that's hard to achieve and that's why people have to always distinguish between fiction and reality.

Oh I see...Honestly I didn't consider that part creepy since it seemed more of him keeping an eye on her out of care since he knows how hard she has had it in high school and never made contact with her but just watched from afar hm...I mean their break up was too absurd to begin with and we know they both still had feelings for eo...But I get why it could come off as trigerring to some. I have had my fair share of moments that triggered me emotionally while watching this drama with the SA scenes and the mom/aunt moments...Honestly this drama is quite on the heavier side and shows some pretty depressing stuff so def not your average romance cdrama.

I will never understand how people can rate stuff they never finish or at least reach 3/4 of it so that they know the substance of the story they are rating...Based on what exactly is your rating when in most cdrama 6 eps is just the prologue lol Usually if I drop something early without reaching the end and having an overall picture of the work I leave it unrated...You rating something without knowing much about it be it cdrama or kdrama is kinda showing bitterness... It's like going to a restaurant ordering full course and living after not liking the first dish and when you arrive home you decide to go and rate them with 1 star lol
Btw this is something that I wanted to say for quite some time now because apparently in MDL there are quite a few people like you so it's not targeted on you. I am genuinely curious what logic y'all have for doing so if not just hating or taking "vengeance" for not liking smth?

Now for your question, I enjoyed Lighter & Princess a lot too but it's hard to find smth similar like it...I think you can try searching on recommend but if it doesn't work you can also go on Google/youtube and click the 10 best cdrama with xxxx(genre) of 202X or go on Reddit and search Cdrama similar to xxxx drama. That's what I usually do when I hit a wall with my current watch list.
