Yep...I have said the same before as well lol Some of the editing choices of this drama could be better...Like this ost sure helps bring the angst out in certain scenes but we could go without it in others...

I would say The Blossoming Love is a bit more engaging for me so far but MM is a close 2nd!! And from the currently airing ones yes these 2 along with Floorished Peony (had to put it on hold tho cause there will be S2, but if u don't mind go ahead) are worth watching the most for me!!

I am currently watching both >< They share a similar universe with immortals, demons, humans and even the same actors for minor roles but thankfully different colored wigs lol
As for your questions hmm...The main leads start off rocky with each of them having a different purpose and secret agendas but eventually, you will see them warm up to eo slowly! For me, the FL did make me a bit frustrated at times with her actions but overall she is smart and level-headed, thinking of the bigger picture for her plans! Also the side characters' stories have been quite interesting and investing as well^^

Imagine when both Fuling and Bai shuo realize they are sisters...Bai Shuo who has been longing so much for her sister who left and dissapeared & Fuling who ended up forgetting the past, getting brainwashed by her current master, killing her own father indirectly and making her own sister's life hell...Sigh...

On ep19 right now...Honestly, I already had my suspicions from earlier eps when she discussed her past with her Cold Palace Master but this ep truly cemented Fuling's true identity!!
This will be one wild ride...

Now that's a nice explanation and interpretation of the episode, thanks! At the time I was only mid-way through the ep so some parts had yet to make sense. I just think some scenes could have been structured better so that these things you mentioned could be more apparent and easy to convey to us...

Yes I just completed the ep now and know...But I still believe this part could have been written better...The back and fourth with the truth in this ep was kinda frustrating to watch making me itch for the fast forward button...Thanks anyway^^

Similar hm...Idk how much they hit the similarity mark character-wise but for similar world build you can check out Eternal Love, Ashes of Love, Love and Redemption, Ancient Love Poetry, The Last Immortal, The Starry Love, Love between Devil and Fairy, Immortal Samsara, Back from the Brink, Till the End of the Moon etc.

Currently on ep 16 with the Fox Clan arc and I really can't seem to understand why ML won't tell FL the truth about the water stone and her condition?? Like going all the way to lying and saying cruel things to her to hide it?? Sure our FL can be quite emotional at times but after leaving the last city they became quite close and FL is set on staying with him and completing their journey...So if there is an obstacle and it concerns her why not let her in and find a solution together?? I don't get it... And then have her go behind his back and run into trouble...
I mean it's probably for another cliche scene by the scriptwriter... As much as I like this drama some parts of the writing just don't make sense to me or just throw me off...And also I can't help myself with the overuse of the ost...Whoever is editing this drama they should learn to use it less in certain scenes or the ost will lose its value...(and believe me when I say I absolutely LOVE the ost)

Btw I guess the word blossom in the titles of cdrama is quite the lucky charm lol

Honestly, this drama took me 1-2 episodes to get into it at first, and it didn't hook me on the spot, but ever since then, each episode I watch just kept getting better and better! I guess only around episodes 15 and 16 did I feel it go a bit flat and less interesting, mainly because of the FL's character switch by the script making her unemotional, etc. But after that, it thankfully got back on track for me with more interesting revelations happening that hooked me back!
So I think for all newcomers, it's worth giving this a try for sure!
Right now it has become my fave ongoing since Peony is set to have an S2 and I had to stop watching from all other ongoing this is the one I am looking forward to the most! Maybe with MM being a close 2nd...But yeah, for a quite dry drama season, TBL feels like an oasis right now!

Damn...So they will really kill her off to bring him over the edge...sigh...I better prepare tissues from now and also hope for that silver lining to happen.

Yep this is my third drama watching him as a 2ML with tragic storyline too...At this point he is a pro at this but can he stay alive and find happiness at least once? Let's see...

This is what I fear as well...It's honestly so classic by now...But this 2ML I just can't help but have a soft spot for him like the one in ALP...So if they do this to him it will really hurt...Or maybe they will kill Fengyao to further blacken his character...Either way I fear for what's to come. Can't the 2ML repent and have his own happy ending for once?

I'm on ep 21 right now and I ship NXY with his assistant Feng Yao so bad!! I really hope this drama can break free from the mold and make the 2ML repent for his actions with no death but by moving on and finding another love...He has been through much himself and although I can see his character blackening already cause of his unrequited love towards MXL I really hope he will come back to his senses before it's too late...I just want them to pull a ALP/AOL on him but with Fengyao by his side and not dying alone...It would be too tragic...And this drama already has other villains that could take that "role".

As someone who has watched both Ancient Love Poetry and The Last Immortal (a sequel to ALP about the lead couple's son), I can assure you that all three dramas can be watched as stand-alones! The connections between them are quite loose, and so are the timelines.
The only thing they share is the same universe, as they are all adapted from a novel trilogy!
Moonlight Mistique is basically about two friends of the lead couple from ALP (goddess of the stars and moon x true demon god ) who got reincarnated as human/demon king many thousand years after in MM. Even the names have been changed, though, in MM and ALP, so it would be less confusing to watch this as a stand-alone, I think!
However, I do recommend the other 2 cdrama too if you like this genre ^^

I get what you mean...Historical costumes and hairstyles definitely don't suit all male actors and this actor is one of them...It took me some time to get into him and his look here especially when his character is cold and stone-faced too which made it even harder for me but the plot and drama as a whole were enough to keep me going ><
So far every ep I watch makes me even more engaged with the plot!!
