Same here! It actually reminded me of Go Ahead! There are quite a few cdramas with this trope, but it's rare to find one that does it right. This one has definitely been one of those for me so far!

I have yet to reach that part but it's hard for people to change drastically in a short amount of time unless a shock factor comes into play hmm...I really hope the scriptwritter does this smoothly or it will really look out of place...Trying to smooth things over by any means to let QiQi stay in the storyline is a big no for me! I need it to be justified and shown to us in detail! This way it could also help the audience empathize with her sigh...
Ep10 is wreaking meðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I can't watch our sunshine boy Jing go through all that pain with his rehab 😠It hurts so bad! 😠And HuanJing are truly the best OTP and are always there for eo!! In ep9 we got Jing comforting her and in ep10 we got her also doing the same for him! Memorizing a whole script of big football players and how they overcame their injuries oh my Huan erðŸ˜ðŸ˜ "Only when we lose the courage to start over, does youth truly come to an end."
Edit : And ep11 has more pain to serve damn...Why is life so bittersweet...My poor babies Jing and Song! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ "The healer of wounds is only time" indeed...

That's about QiQi and Huan er right? I feel so much for my poor Huan er... And honestly, QiQi's possessiveness feels so hypocritical cause she was the one who approached Huan er with other intentions in mind and if anything she was just jealous of how well Huan er could get along with everyone (even Song Cong) unlike her...Kinda the type of attitude of "You can't be better than me and you only have to be close to me even if that doesn't go both ways" logic...Truly a terrible friend who only cares about her own feelings.
I am on ep8 and it's so sad to see our sweet trio's relationship and balance falling apart...My Song looks so hurt😠Huan er didn't really have to go that far with distancing herself...My boy Song was even holding himself back so well but just because Huan er noticed QiQi's feelings for him and how she was annoyed when she or any other girl was near Song she became awkward... I really liked and appreciated Jing's words to her though "I think you have done nothing wrong. Don't be afraid of others' annoyance and stop being yourself because of it." VERY wise words and they came from our supposedly goofy Jing! This guy is so much more than what he shows... Also when QiQi said she would sing a song for a friend she wishes to have forever and my Huan er thought it was for her...It hurt so bad😠She is really a girl's girl and still kinda naive when it comes to love sigh... Anyway, I really hope SongHuanJing will get to overcome everything nicely and keep this close bond they have built with each other intact!
Episode 6 is so depressingly funny to me lmao All the love lines are so messed up 😠Our group of friends literally got multiple heartbreaks and enlightenment about eo's feelings in just that single ep 😂

If they follow the novel they won't! In the novel they date together and give it a try but end up breaking up soon after and Song Cong ends up with Duman!^^ I hope they won't change it in the drama...
Honestly, QiQi feels miles away from our sweet trio who share a genuine bond and friendship with one another...Even the beginning of her friendship with Huan er was built on interest! She didn't approach her or spend time with her out of genuine care but just wanted to use her to get closer to Song Cong and learn more about him through her and their friend group! Even the things she would give to Huan er like the shampoo gift, the book, the free meal were as if she was trying to "pay her back" for her "services" to strengthen their fragile and surface-level friendship! Honestly, she rubbed me off from episode 1, and sadly, after each episode I watch, she disappoints me further and reaffirms my initial thoughts about her! But I think her own family has also played a part in this, they cultivated this self-centered attitude and cool temper of hers. Still, one's own actions are the result of their own choices and decisions in the end. And that's why I can see why her relationship with Song Cong wouldn't be able to last! They are fundamentally different and hold different interests and values in their lives! And even her feelings for him do not feel as genuine after watching her compare him to "a dress she desperately wants but can't buy since the deposit is already paid" lol Still I do hope the scriptwriter proves me wrong and there is some growth to her character and cultivation of genuine feelings between her and the rest!

Hi! Douban is basically the Chinese ver. drama review platform that only allows registered users which makes it thus far seem more "reliable" and why ratings are harsher there. Yes, a 7/10 for a douban score is considered good and decent enough, especially for idol costume drama like this one! Usually 10 or even 9 are pretty unattainable there lol For example, as reference other dramas similar to this genre from last year like Moonlight Mystique or Blossoming Love had 5.9 and 6.7 scores respectively!

Am I the only one who feels IQIYI promoted this so late? I feel like it cld have even done better.
That's because there was barely any money left for promo. This is an A rank budget drama and they decided to priorise other things like CGI, OST and overall production...And that's also the reason they cast less known leads to save money! If I remember correctly there was even a meme pic on Weibo I saw from X showed how the promo team was made of just 1 employee while CGI team was endless ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ So this drama barely got any official promos in the beginning and it was only shared from mouth to mouth or by the actors themselves through the media...However, since it still managed to gain traction and outperform its budget into S rank so I guess now Iqiyi is more than willing to push for it harder!
