Well yes, I guess it's not a functioning love triangle since FL x ML feelings are matual while 2ML's are one-sided but I had no other similar shape in mind to explain it. I am sure most must have understood what I meant by it.
Idk but up to ep 13 I wouldn't say I consider him a mere plot device or filler...He is definitely a catalyst to our lead couple's love story but we were also introduced to his own struggles and past. And to me he looks like the male version of FL chasing after a love that might never respond back to you (in the earlier eps) so it was a nice mirroring moment.
I also hope the writers can balance and work around the relationship of these 3 well...I wouldn't want to come to hate any of them...Maybe they could pull an Ancient Love Poetry but with SML surviving to the very end after atoning for his wrong decisions...
And I doubt they will make FL lead on/respond to SML cause it would make zero sense after seeing how much her relationship has progressed with ML. It would truly ruin the plot. But the writing up to ep13 looks pretty good and the plot gets better each ep so I really hope they won't fumble this.

FL is willing to die for ML so that he doesn't get implicated and can remain spotless and just in front of the Alliance members, ML on the other hand is willing to defy all rules and pressure from those around him in order to keep her alive while 2ML is willing to pass secretly a protective array to FL's body in order to protect her even though he knows once it gets activated the caster might lose his life from the impact...
I really hope we can have a happy ending with all three of them alive by the end of this drama.

I am currently on ep 13, and my gosh, the love triangle these three have going for each other is truly heart-wrenching to witness.

Based on past comments I read their seperation happens around ep5 so you were right on mark lol I am also glad we won't have to endure much of this...

I am only 2 eps in but I can already tell this is a well-crafted series and hopefully, it can keep its quality to the end! However I have a question...Will this really have a 2nd season following this story or will the sequel just share the universe and focus on other characters?
If it's the first then as much as I like this I might have to pause until we have news of the sequel airing...I wouldn't like to forget everything while waiting for part 2...

Flourished Peony on just its 3rd day of airing has already exceeded 100M plays and the real-time ratings were 0.5548%, topping the TV ratings list as number 1 among all currently airing series from different platforms!

Personally, I have known the SML since even before >< I first saw him in Bloody Romance (which I recommend, as a rather unique drama setting of its trope). He was also playing a SML there and was supposed to be a "villain" with a soft spot for FL. I liked his performance and I remember pitying him like how I do now here .
Surprisingly he was also wearing a green costume there as his color and he is indeed very beautiful in period costumes^^

For me top spot for January is definitely Floorished Peony based on the first 2 eps and spoilers i have watched the quality is up there (which is why it's already topping all charts). But Blossoming is also hooking so I would say a close 2nd with Moonlight Mystique after it...For Dafeng I really couldn't get into it personally...The comedy and the princess's character kinda spoiled it for me. But honestly, all of these cdrama are not even 3/4 into the plot where usually most fumble...So I can't say which one will manage to keep their rank to the end!

I actually did! It took me 2-3 eps to really get into it but now it keeps getting more interesting every ep I watch! I hope it can keep this up and not fumble in the middle like most cdrama this year...

Yep, peony will be an angsty one, but I don't mind as long as we get a HE and a solid plot (which is expected based on novel spoilers) ><

Dafeng is surely my least favorite of them as well...Be it the princess character or the comedy it all feels kinda fake and forced to me idk...

I like those qualities in a drama as well so that's great to know! I have actually watched more eps today and it got more interesting now!

For me so far I tried all of the above plus Floorished Peony by watching the first few eps and I am leaning more toward Moonlight Mystique and Floorished Peony I think...For this one I want to give it a try as well ...what's your impression of it? Since you reached ep16 and all.

Actually, peony was my most anticipated but until like yesterday it had MTL so I could barely understand...Now that Viki has picked it up I will definitely tune into it after I let it marinate some more! Based on 1 ep I watched it was right up my alley!
Now for the rest...I have checked first few eps of Dafeng, Moonlight, and this but none of them was gripping enough for me...Maybe Moonlight...For this drama, I think my biggest issue as of the first 2 eps is the CGI...But if the overall plot and acting are good I don't mind watching past it...That's why I asked.

I was so sad when I saw the MTL eps so for Viki to pick this up is truly a blessing!! Ep1 was interesting and based on the summary this could become my new fave but there are far too few eps available rn so I will let it marinate some more ><

Tho based on the last 2 lines of the drama summary it already sounds like happy ending! "After a near-death experience, the two worked together to put down a rebellion, and both retreated into the world of heaven and earth."

After the Blossom I am once again in a cdrama drought...None of the ongoing dramas rn seems to have grasped my attention fully...Maybe Moonlight Mystique but even that is not as engaging...
So, umm, is this drama worth watching and does it get better after the first 2-3 episodes?? I knew the FL from past support roles I have seen in other dramas I enjoyed and added this to my list, but the 1-2 episodes did not impress me that much, and the CGI looked kind of bad. I have a certain amount of time I can dedicate to series daily so it would be helpful to know how it gets later on and if it's worth it.

Okay so long time ago I started Princess Agents ( the drama had just fully aired at the time) and I had to stop watching mid-way cause of people saying that the couple wasn't together at the finale and that the ending indicated for a S2? Which led to me shelving it away until news of S2 comes up...
So is this Rebirth supposed to be the continuation but with new cast or will it just share the same universe but different timeline?? I am asking so I know if I should re- watch and continue Princess Agents...( tho I can tell that with the filming happening now this cdrama will air at least 1-2 years later at best lol)
Personally I have come to know of this cdrama cause of Li Yunrui from Blossom I kinda became a fan of his but I don't think I can see him and the rest as the "new" cast of Princess Agents characters the vibes are too different if they pick up from where it left...So I really hope it's a new plot setting!

They have already recorded eps on Hello Saturday and Keep Running tho? Will they appear again?
