Hm...Personally, BO was a disappointment for me since the first couple eps and had me dropping it early on...So if you say that I guess it got even worse after 26 then haha And yes most cdrama I have watched this year either fumbled in the middle or in the last ep/ending...Which is why I had high hopes for this cause it managed to be super engaging for every single ep up to 26-27...For me, eps 28-29 are the only I would call dissatisfying and frustrating but I still try to understand it as a means of helping the overall plot move...Which is why the last 5 eps are so important to me! I could totally overwatch the current latest eps as long the rest serves us well!!

They are honestly so cute together and their chemi is nice too😭 Dou Ming and Ansu served enough stupidity and angst...We need some happy successful couples aside from our leads to exist too...
Every story needs a villain but the execution of the last arc with Song Han is terribly done. I was not annoyed…
Or maybe he is acting so well as a villain that he ended up making everyone (me included) hate his character so much it's become unwatchable! 😂 As for the last part with the comparison I get u 100% I simply didn't like how many have started saying bad things about this drama just cause of the latest 2-3 eps...It's unfair! Also a reason we might have disliked Song Han's arc so much might be cause of how they compressed it all and had his mask fall off all at once! We didn't get to see signs and warm up to him earlier hm...I am really trying to understand it myself haha

Edit: I am only 8 mins in and my blood pressure is rising already haha I get why everyone was so affected and frustrated lol This palace maid sent by the empress and that scroudel Song Han sure make a splendid team when it comes to brainwashing Ansu and oh boi HOW NAIVE AND STUPID CAN SHE GET?? Like that scene of her stabbing Song Han better get aired soon...I can't keep seeing her act like that! The overall ep was okay tho...I think the last 20 mins of ep29 might act as a catalyst for Ansu's character in the upcoming eps and it also further shows us how bottomless of a pit Song Han truly is... But I still think it was necessary to happen def not enjoying this ride tho...

I think this is what I liked in a way about it...It perfectly captured the hardships women had to go through back then and how little say they had about their own lives their whole time and how dysfunctional and complicated noble houses could be...Which is why pure and nieve girls like Dou Ming are goners from the get-go...

Well sure but by showing them more it helps also with giving depth to their characters..Like Song Han had almost 0 screen time up to ep 27 cause he was still hiding himself and his intentions like a wolf in sheep's clothing...Now finally he got the chance to take all he things he deserves and stop acting...So he gets the screentime for us to truly know him better but since he is a villain and a rather psychotic heartless one at that the audience gets infuriated just by his presence and does not want to see him (which I do understand since I feel it too but blaming the script and directing cause of that is extreme lol) As for the rest of the villains we still got 5 eps to cover...Like how they gave eps 27-29 to Song Han x AnSu we could get more of them as well plus 5th uncle and Ji Yong have gotten their fair share of scenes too actually it's just that they were better distributed while Songhan's arc is more compressed since his mask fell off in one swoop and rather late into the plot...

This...Like this drama has been focusing so much on our leads and their story in the 1-26 eps already especially compared to many other famous cdrama that have had side characters/villains take up way more screen time overall...I think everyone has become rather "spoiled" thus far that cannot even bear going 2-3 eps without them being the main focus for the plot's sake and flesh out of the villains...Hopefully, tomorrow's 5 eps and ending are satisfying enough to turn the tides once again lol
