The Dowager was adopted by the Zhao family, so they are not related by blood! But yeah, relationship-wise, the Dowager is his aunt, and Roshi & Duan Yang are first cousins. However, even if they were blood-related, the union of cousins wasn't frowned upon back then so it wouldn't be weird either way...
Guys...Based on ep 19 & 20 (currently watching so idk if it's already mentioned in the ep) I have some speculations about Mu Sheng's parents....
They showed us a memory of the marquis seeing the young Mu Sheng and his father before he became part of the Mu family...And on today's ep we heard that momo tell the marquis that the wooden bracelet which his father held so dearly was given to him by a "witch"(tho in the drama it was said that the bracelet came from a goddess's hair) from the Qilin mountains (where Mu sheng used to live with his mother based on his flashbacks)... So what if the marquis's father is also mu sheng's bio dad and his mother is the supernatural being(goddess/witch/demon)?
Edit: And rn they mentioned that young Mu Sheng was considered the marquis's assassin cause he was spotted in the residence when the marquis died??(I guess this is where ruoshi's flashback was from about the young musheng...)

Idk for me it had a strong start then a bit of a slump in the mid part (where they were focusing on sub-plots which made it kinda boring) and then my interest picked up again after ep 29 and gained that spark back >< For me, this story overall is a solid 8.5-9! Personally I like to focus at one cdrama at a time too (since they upload every day eps unlike kdrama) which is why i wanted to let this and Pearl girl to marinate more but after the 2 days break announcement of FoF I couldn't hold myself back and started this one today >< It's just the perfect genre for me! Since FoF took a break for two days I decided to start this one finally after letting it marinate a bit and OMG WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE!! I am up to ep 8 rn and this has become my fave ongoing drama!! From plot to chemi, it's so gripping!! It's so bubbly and full of sweetness and yet it can also tag at your heart with some warm emotional scenes...It has it all, I am loving it!!
Yep iQiyi has announced no eps until Nov 6th...I think it's a new marketing strategy to prolong this drama's airr duration due to it only having 34 eps before they have to drop the express package by the end of next week or so...(i think)
Oh...I see how it is...Either way that won't stop me from watching tho it would be best to speak on it by giving credits and end this here...The cast and rest of production put effort in this series...It would be sad to see FoF get "stained" with a bad rep cause of this...
Tianbao fuyao lu?! As in the legend of exorcism?! One of the few BL/danmei donghua that have been produced and aired?? It's one of my faves and still hoping for another season to come out...But what exactly have FoF copied? I mean I can definitely see the similar lores of demons and demon hunting they share but maybe cause it's been a while since I watched the donghua I can't find any glaring copying?

I really don't know what awaits us by the ending of this drama but the foreshowing of a sad ending doesn't seem too far from reality and it pains me...😭😭😭

Hopefully!! I am currently on ep 9 and I am enjoying this quite a bit! Tho 2 other popular anticipated cdrama came out yesterday so I think that could also be one of the reasons of stagnating...Personally, I am saving the other 2 for later (waiting for more eps to come out) so FoF has my full attention, and hopefully, as the plot picks up so will the heat index!^^

Each time the heat index rises the drama heats a new mile stone of popularity and they release these special pics of the leads with the numbers on it! Also heat index can only be compared within networks, not across them. Youku's max index up to last year for example was 10000...So by comparing the numbers of diff youku cdrama airing at the time and how close they are to the max you could tell how much of a hit they are...For tencent the max was 30k+ last time I checked... So yeah... Basically the higher the index the more talk and buzz the drama makes...
