I guess she might be aware of the hates shes getting for passionate kisses lol, plus wanting the kisses to be different 🤷‍♀️and also the character, situation asked for it, plus I noticed it’s how the director wants her to kiss, AND I swear they edited the kiss quite badly lol. in the BTS, a lot of her kisses are very good, very passionate, but they cut it in the way where it’s watered down quite a bit lawl! I called it self censoring 😅
last and not least, I don’t think BS and FY were together for that long, apart from that 1 passionate night, they didn’t have that much time between him keep getting sick/dying to practice more 😝

I’m more talking about the current attempted SA. I’m assumed she was SA in the past, even if it was attempted, she should then be stronger n fight harder if it was attempted? Because technically, you still have something to fight for???

not too sure how I should feel about the first ep’s SA. while the drama up to that point has beautiful cinematography, the music is average (I don’t like or attached to any of them), the leads look beautiful, but this scene… on the one hand, I feel she didn’t fight back enough, considering she’s a past victim. on the other hand, I’m trying to give her flacks so I can keep watching, but my other brain isn’t liking it… rather uh! 😐

what determine hot broadcast period?

yea, most cdrama currently having problem of bullet train or fall off the rail in the last 10eps. both TTEOTM and MM could possibly do with 2-4eps more n it’d be even more perfect

lol, LSS/YXW is such a complex character! I love her to bit, too bad the drama deviated so much from the book lol. I wouldn’t say never genuine. she was genuine in being with him n watch over him for that mortal life. but as that life keeps progress, she understands that choice isn’t her to make. wanting to protect him, treating him well is the genuine feelings she has for him. and oh in the book, she was attracted to him from the beginning lol! too bad that didn’t make it clear in the drama (the charm that PR put on her, that forced her to seduce TTJ - only works if you already like that person).

lol, BaiLu tends to pick rather flawed character 😅 anyway, let’s look at BaiShou. why she said she would save herself without needing his help - this is her trying to be strong in front of him, not appearing to be weak. after all, she understands she’s just a mere human among the powered one (immortal and demon). her character demonstrates many flaws even in first episode lol: easily believe in hearsay (the temptress told her about a god n she believes it immediately), jump the gun (on FY’s actions), have an opinion and keep at it (she determined on getting strong recklessly without listening to FY’s advices, it’s only after that she started to take in Master Turtle and FY’s words). also as you keep watching, she isn’t the strongest, she constantly need help from others, but she is strong in her own way. the ML and FL constantly work with each other, rather than 1 solve it all. she doesn’t outdo FY in combat lol, even in the fight where they fought with each other (she was on par because he was fighting himself lol). As much as BS “doesn’t make mistake”, essentially this drama isn’t just about her, it would be a pity that you don’t watch it for the other stories that featured in this.
but I understand the feeling, if you already don’t feel like it, forcing yourself ain’t going to make things better. so take a break, visit back when you like BL or ARP more (like my case with WHD lawl!).

lol, guess you are not used to the idea that demon is just a species, they are not inherited evil or good. The perception “demon is bad”, stem from the fact that they practice dark magic n easier to lose themselves, therefore there’s a good chance you meet evil demon. But in Chinese literature, demon can be good or bad, just like fairy/immortal can be good or bad. It’s just too many dramas used the evil demon king to achieve 2 tropes: enemies to lovers and star cross lovers lol

yea, this show is all about how DFQC over feel for orchid lol, I don’t get as much orchid’s emotions/feels. like there is enough, but it feels like she gives 1 n he gave 4 if you know why I mean

since I already wrote these down, feel like a waste to not post it! these are my thoughts as I watch it:

First 4 eps = quite slow, not much happening. Acting wise: WHD can’t do cold n evil lol, his stern cold face isn’t as good as ShiYan in OFL lol. But his scared face, sad n all other emotions while body swap with little flower are actually quite good. Esther looks beautiful, however her acting is quite weak/raw in here.

Ep5 = definitely getting better though I think it would have worked better on me as a manga, while I smiled at the “silly” things that happened in this episode, I also still have not cared for the drama.

Ep 6 - thought it’ll be exciting for a bit, n it actually was exciting for 30s… 🤦‍♀️ I can’t say the story is progressing nicely for me yet. It’s rather mid atm. Ep8: that underwater kiss - i see they haven’t let go of that trope yet 🤦‍♀️

9-12: rather dull (multiple times I feel sleepy), except for the kiss, which does give some butterfly.

Ep 13: first 15mins - best in the show so far, followed by god damn filler - worst in the show 🤦‍♀️, n the last few mins is the best moment again, it really show how DFQC character grows, since he can’t feel anything, he gets to experience happiness through orchid.

Ep14 = god, the filler character 💀 half is filler! You do not need to spend 15mins to tell the audience your two leads are in love with each other, n the subordinate is so dumb that he needs to be told that too 🤦‍♀️

ep15: god I can’t stand jieli, shes that annoying filler character that u want to kill! It likes I have to endure the crappiest moment (jieli) to get the best moment in this show (development between orchid n DFQC)! 😑

Ep16-20: maybe I’m just too experienced with xianxia but nothing is a surprise, story is a bit slow, there are nice moments between orchid n DFQC, but it does feel long n far in between.

22: I fall asleep 😒 they are dragging this quite badly!

23: continues to feel bored… when will this filler ends!

24: I forgot how misunderstanding n couldn’t tell the other your true feelings were a thing of xianxia, MVP: Danyin!

25-27: apart from the small cute moment n the kiss while they were holding hand, it’s pretty meh 😒

28-29: can we kill Jieli already? It’s like one of those supports you can’t stand 😑

31: orchid’s dead scene is pretty good but 🤷‍♀️

32: the dream shatter scene is pretty nice, ost, visual - go well together! but it didn’t touch me 🤷‍♀️ I like WHD’s acting though. LYT - sorry, she can’t act. Even with just 2mins, you can see her dead eyes 😑

33: the amnesia plot! 🤦‍♀️ oh how I rolled my eyes hard! (Going to bed because I rather sleep than finishing the last 3eps lol)

34: yup, danyin is still MVP for me lol. Jieli became less annoying, her scenes with danyin really make her character a lot better. Danyin n her father possibly the only thing that trigger real emotional response from me lol.

35: the build up evil is a chore to watch 😩 tooo much explanation- I do not need lol! Yes yes, new watchers need to see this but uh… chore!

The mood music is bleh 😑
WHD is good at this cold boss role lol. DFQC and ShiYan = 50 shades of coldness! When WHD is orchid, his acting is quite convincing as orchid, the reserve however isn’t true (my opinion). Esther’s coldness feel deadpan, no soul, 1 note. It doesn’t give me the feeling that it was DFQC. N when DfQC has his body back, again, emotions left n right while being stoic and cold.

last and not least (forgot to put it in my review): if you expect any choreographed fight scenes, there isn’t any! 🙂

ok, can someone enlighten me how did DFQC hurt orchid? like apart from that one time when he said I hate you blah blah blah n she had to go through the torture chamber for him so they can be together, what else did he do that made him keep going on about how he hurt her? because I swear the amount of pains he went through for her was like 10000 times more 💀 am I missing something here?!!!

In ALP, TianQi looks like a god who wear purple to be different. But if you see the demons in ALP, they all have coloured hair, “weird” beastly traits. So FY in here is actually closer to the common demons: colour hair, colour eyes/trait of “not a normal person”, and therefore made him a more believable king of demon than TianQi in ALP

the problem is renmin’s acting isn’t that great, her look isn’t that outstanding either, yet she keeps having main roles. meanwhile, actresses like Dai Lu Wa, or Zhang YaQin are having a hard time getting main role 😖if pretty actresses get hates for not be able to act, why wouldn’t not-so-good-looking actresses, who also can’t act well, not getting hates also?

I have to say, my translated version/audio book (I have both) are quite close to the drama. not just the dialogue, but also actions (like how Shi Yue messaged the family grp chat, but there is no ShiYan in there), or how the book described his entrance to the hotel n caught ShuYi and Shi Yue, even though one of the sunlight, the drama is the artificial light 😆
