it’s actually better than the manhua lol. it also filled in the gaps that the manhua left out. and make it so the misunderstanding between the whole uncle n niece things a lot better. it also let the 2 leads to actually interact like human beings, whereas in the manhua, they barely talk on the phone with one another. best thing is it let the audiences see how smart SY is in putting things together, and adjusting his moves/interactions with her (this is quite important as later on when the truth comes out, part of these help him realise how she’s very much in love with him and not just toying with him, n how she’s actually quite slow/shy 🤣). however, a lot of the key events remained the same. this is however my POV n interpretation. (literally just finished 45 chapters yesterday lol). SY drawing gotta be the best male character I’ve seen lol, manly but not manecing.

lol yea. like I said in one of my previous comments, in a sense, they let these phone calls interrupt them, because he didn’t trust her completely, n she tries to stop letting herself be 100% in love as she’s constantly guilty about their start. also, seeing his coldly raging voice: you better have something important to tell me! is just so funny lol 🤣 there’s campy doing right and there is campy doing wrong, so far, it’s right for me lol. hit everything at the right note 🤣🤣🤣 n tbqh, the Vietnamese dub version has about 700k minimum views per episode, if not 800k+ to 1mil, n the comments are they are too addictive to it n keep rewatching it 🤣 so pretty sure many enjoy this series 🤣🤣🤣

I think the SML is there for ShiYan to see that she’s not after the money. SML is just going to be as successful, n basically have everything ShiYan has, and would be a nice BF to her just as SY would. I can’t believe I’m rewatching this right after I finished the first round lol 🤦‍♀️ but I love how we have a lot of moments of the two leads. sure, some of them are their text messages, but we get to see their facial expressions, and thoughts, etc. I enjoyed all their bantering n catch n chase 🤣 I also love the bit where she walked away from him, he followed, she ended up at the dead end n he is like: what r u going to do now? (like aha! caught you!) n she is like: I’m praying! 🤣🤣🤣

Haha. The dub version I had help me watch the acting n so I don’t miss much off the “read between the lines”. And it’s so great to see two leads throwing hints at each other, just to misunderstand each other. I’m rewatching the beginning atm, n it’s so addictive. In a sense, this gotta be the first romcom where the get-to-know each other is so well done. And you cant miss any second of it. I love ShiYan a lot lol (coming from I have zero respect to WHD’s acting because of miss the dragon lawl! But now I’m like now I can check out his other dramas, whereas before I’m like no, dodge 😅).
LIS has so much filler lol. N it’s sooo annoying. This one, the other two couples are great on their own, admittedly the prof n student is the weakest, but Shi Yue is cute lol. As an overall, this one is on top lol
Edit: omg that short! That is quite hot lawl! I also noticed BL’s kiss in here is quite different. With SY, a lot of her kisses show the desire to take it to the next level. That kiss on the bed, never seen BL do that sort of passionate/fighting to kiss type lol.

haha, I understand the phone call interruptions frustration but I also take it as those two are not completely two feet into the relationship, thats why they let everything get in their way. a stark contrast to later on, when all the misunderstandings have been cleared up, nothing could interrupt them then 🤣🤣🤣 the same with every single time they kiss, they wanted each other but they weren’t living together, so they hold off like “proper” Asian adult “should” (let be real, it’s not but yea, censorship 🤣🤣🤣🤣).
