tysm for saving me on this albeit short watch. (i mean wtf? 10 min eps?)
You've watched a bunch of the more recent or the most well known ones already. Fortune Writer is on your CW already. liked but ML was waaaay too baby faced and puny to seem right for the role. L&BF is one of my all time favorites now but it's HARD to watch.
Anything with Yan Zi Xian is good even when it's bad cause he's my bias 😅 - Currently Airing Strange Notes is a good non-romance. Deadly Loop was good until the very end. Ancient Workplace, Love Handbook was cute. Dream in the Mirror was super interesting. Life after Life... 1st half was amazing and worth the watch alone but it goes downhill. My Piggy Boss is hilariously adorable with glitter poofs and alien pigs. The Girl Inside Me was very different from "Normal" body switch/takeover transmigration shows. Dramatic Self-help strategy guide was fast paced and unpredictable.
So the aphasia claim was false. People were jumping to conclusions that it meant she must have had a stoke and…
Rather the aphasia wasn't false. She IS having issues walking, talking and eating, but everyone saw aphasia symptoms and went "she had a stroke" when the truth is that thats just the most common reason to "suddenly" get it. But there are many other reasons it can happen. The brain is a weird thing and will shut down to try and protect you. That's why (and I'm using my own anecdote here not her issue) you can have all the symptoms of a heart attack, go to the ER and be told you're "just having a panic attack and pulled a muscle" and "take Tylenol and get some therapy".
I finally got around to finishing the 2nd half of this one and feel like you have to say "what was THAT" to the end and last two episodes 😅. It really wasn't too bad until that though.
I feel like I like the more straight forward stories more. 13/14 had a very straightforward message but then that end left me very confused... "4 and 2"? "5 and 1"?
Tbh i actually believe he truly loves her with his whole heart. I understand he feel indebted to bai zhe n his…
Personally I think he did leave himself that very small opening to return after the soup because she begs him not to take the brush saying (basically) If he takes the brush that means it's real and there's no going back... He doesn't take the brush. He doesn't "repay" the money he "owes"... he just leaves. He is essentially conflicted just like you're saying. He can't have what she did on his conscience right then and he's afraid she WOULD be able to do something worse for him in the future, so he leaves. But part of him REALLY doesn't want to.
🤣 I just finished this myself. Been watching other stuff so binged the last 6 eps at once. Let me tell you,…
Honestly yeah... that was the highlight. Then, when another friend started watching it that also watches vertical dramas I actually had her write out what she thought was going to happen next... 🤣 - She was about 99% correct (I ended it with "Okay so you just wrote the plot, now go watch it in action 🤣)
Cliffhanger for 13 since it's a "Part 1" 😭. Knew this would happen at some point but still... ugh. BUT.... Got to see Wang Ze Xuan AND Yan Zi Xian together in this episode!
I only watched first episode from Tencent a at that time when no where else was airing. I saw YanZiXian only but…
This is an anthology show so he isn't in every episode. On the show site he's listed 3rd after Yang Xinming and Purba Rgyal. Up to ep 13 is out and YZX has been in ep 1, 4/5 (2 parter), 8, 9, 13 - so he's been in almost half of them so far.
I get it but he's VERY consistent in his character qualities - Like he STRUGGLES with his convictions I have such…
So the way I looked at it, half of the times that the ML "doubted" her was really him trying to justify his world views based on his promises to the Beasts and his Savior. They were almost delusional doubts because ANY time he had to defend her against someone else saying she was doing bad deeds he did. It was only when she would refuse to explain herself that those whispers would take root because the situations DID look bad.
This is why I had a love/Hate with her as well. She spent so much time "above" the situations that she never even considered needing to explain herself. And indeed she DID do bad near the end when she "allowed" those people to die to save him and then forced the medicine down his throat. 😔
Having to work before I could finish and watch episode 40 was pure torture. But I am not done. I've read some…
I DO think that he loved her. Loving someone doesn't mean never having doubts about them and she NEVER explains herself until after the fact in any situation. Sure you can blame him for believing in the Villain dude for so long but the guy was basically like a father to him having saved him from death and it "sounded" like he had the best interests of the Demons in mind. The audience is an impartial 3rd party observer with additional information that he did not have. 🤷♀️ I can be annoyed with him but he is a consistent character trying to grow within his rigid values... the show is very much stacked against him.
Having to work before I could finish and watch episode 40 was pure torture. But I am not done. I've read some of the spoiler comments and honestly.... I personally think the show was perfect as it was so I'm 100% happy with the ending.
It only becoming more tense even already at end. I crying non stop like baby esp at ep 39.. it was so many touching…
I made myself stop and watch some of Riverside Code since I been so busy last few days but I JUST finished ep.36 and I'm basically rocking back and forth in my head holding my blanket half afraid/ half NEEDING to hit play on ep 37... I swear they said "Let's play with EVERYONE'S emotions and make first half "okay" so we can tear you APART in 2nd half and you'll thank us."
