Title Hello Monster Spoiler
That was a really really awkward kiss.
Haha their first kiss is hilariously awkward... But their second was not awkward :)

I love this drama, one of my top favourites and it introduced me to Park Bo Gummy. Such a precious little puppy ❤ it's funny how I came into this drama for Seo In Guk but came out a PBG fan. I also love their bromance :)

It really took me awhile to watch the subbed episodes of 19 and 20 because then that would mean I would have to…
Same here chingu :( it took me forever to decide to watch the subbed finale because I didn't want to move on it. I only just completed yesterday. Really loved this drama from beginning to end... Now I feel empty haha

While I mentioned before that this drama is a(n) (embarrassingly?) guilty pleasure of mine due to it's cheesy…
oh man, that's bad news...given that I'm just about 2 episodes behind, I'm wondering whether I should just put this drama on hold and decide either to watch it later or drop it. I don't want to waste my time in case it flops like Orange Marmalade...

Haha ikr, the writers are trolls more than half the time. Yeah I agree it is so confusing, sometimes I wish Reply is pre-produced and there's no husband hunting. I wished they didn't have the husband hunting in this season...sigh.

Ah this was in episode 1. No JH definitely doesn't smoke, so the only likely explanation is they belong to either Taek or Bora. Or Mi-Ran probably found it and assumed it was JH's so she put it in her pocket. Remember at the beginning, Mi-Ran never questions JH at all, JH just does whatever he wants and he never tells his mum anything. She doesn't know much about her son and she doesn't want to bother JH by asking him 'unnecessary' questions. She was seen to be very envious of SunWoo's mum as SW has a closer relationship with his mum. So that's what I think, they never really answered how that scene relates to the future husband, besides the fact that those cigarettes definitely came out of her jacket. I think we are just left to make assumptions. Although I'm more inclined to believe that she probably found them and thought they were JH's, so she never questioned him.

That's alright Monica, but I do see where you are coming from. I was originally on team JH before I switched. Well what I meant when I said DS had always loved Taek is that love comes in many forms. She originally loves him like a younger brother/close friend. We know that DS is best friends to the other guys too but she has more of a special bond with Taek compared to the others. She treats Taek differently and their progression throughout the drama was meant to be slow --> from friendship to romance. DS didn't see Taek as a man yet until she went to China. She always believed that Taek is someone to be protected...she's never seen him in the 'adult' world yet. That's why their time in China was the first time she was able to see Taek differently. From then on she started to notice him. From me the ending made sense. All the clues were very subtle so perhaps not many people picked it up because they were written cleverly to keep viewers engaged and hopeful.

The problem with JH is that, the things he did for her he did it in secret. We only know of his feelings because writers made it from his point of view. However, it's a different story if you view it from DS's point of view. Taek did many things for her and he wasn't secretive nor embarrassed about it either. Taek made it obvious and he was never embarrassed about liking DS despite everyone teasing that DS is not a woman in their eyes. You gotta remember that DS is a girl with many insecurities about herself. She has low self esteem and from her point of view, she probably thinks JH doesn't like her that way. JH never calls her pretty and often says things that are opposite to what she wants. DS wants someone to love her and appreciate her the way she is. Someone who is proud of her and doesn't necessarily embarrass her. We know that JH secretly likes her but he never really expressed it in a way that is obvious to her. He was too late. If you read the discussion board above I posted, Taek did many things for her...I'm not going to re-write everything here lol. But here's the TL;DR section from the discussion... :)

"Deoksun was yearning for love and care throughout the whole drama and Taek was the only one who openly and actively (and consistently) gave her that love and care so I'm just really happy that Deoksun finally got what she was always yearning for ❤ I'm in no way saying that Junghwan couldn't have given her that love, we all know and saw that he could. And that's the point, Junghwan COULD have been the one giving Deoksun the love she wanted but he hesitated too much and in the end all he could do was blame himself (Junghwan even literally says that it was his own fault in episode 18)."

Those who keep complaining about how taek was the husband, I suggest you all go rewatch the drama from the beginning.…
I have to agree that the script was well written/carefully planned based on reasons above. I think majority of viewers let their emotions get in the way of objectively rating the drama. What I loved most is the focus on family and friends which was what writers/PD promised at the start. They definitely delivered that well. I'm going to miss the three ahjummas and the dads the most, they were heartwarming and hilarious haha. For someone like me who doesn't like to watch long episodes, I was certainly surprised how fast 1.5-2 hours went by when I watched each episode. It really doesn't feel that long at all to me :)

Exactly, I've posted this in the discussion board above on reasons why Taek was probably already planned as the husband from the start. I highly doubt writers did any last minute changes/re-written the script. When you write a story, you always have an ending in mind before writing one. Plus all 3 seasons seems to be consistent based on one thing "who out of guys did our lead girl have that special bond with?". If you think about it, it's obviously Taek since DS always cares and looks out for him. In R97, it's Yoonjae that Shi-won was closest to compared to Oppa, while R94 Trash was Najung's oppa. What all 3 of the guys here have in common is that the lead girl knows them extremely well without needing words to be spoken. I guess my only complaint with R88 is that they didn't give an ending to JH and DR. Plus they should've shown us how DS/TK were able to convince their parents about marriage etc. Other than that, this season is still the best in my opinion with their story telling about friendship and family. Romance was never the main focus in the first place anyway - it was just an added bonus. I kinda wished they stuck to doing without the husband hunting and revealed the husband early on. Then that way we get to see their progression. Maybe next season there would be no husband hunting?

this is the most beautiful in all Reply series. Even though it's the same husband guessing game it focus more…
I agree. And throughout the drama we notice that DS had always had a special bond with Taek. She treasures him and subconsciously flirts with him without being aware of it....meaning she's always been able to be herself in front of him even when she liked him. I think Taek is the right husband for her. With JH we're shown that although JH understands her to some extent and notices her, she doesn't really know anything about him or know what he needs without asking (pink shirt present lol). While with Taek, she understands and know his needs without any words needing to be spoken. She knows exactly what Taek likes. They're Yin and Yang.

I don't know how to add casts, but actor Jang Gwang is missing. He's the meditation teacher. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels creeped out whenever I see his face since he played that principal guy in "The Crucible (2011)" movie. Lol

This movie is a true gem. Truly inspiring and a great one to re-watch over and over whenever you feel like giving up on your dream. Moral of the story is to never give up and believe in yourself. Because that way you'll find the motivation to make it :)

Haha this comment from the comments section of dramabeans...anyone notice the pattern? :D

In 1997: Yoonjae gets the girl, Oppa doesn’t get the girl ---> in 1994: Oppa gets the girl, famous guy doesn’t ---> in 1988: famous guy gets the girl ---> Jung Hwan doesn’t.

Do you think this is another intention of the writer from the start? Like a small minor detail?

it doesn't matter who DH ends up with, what really matter is the story of the drama, we all know what the concept…
This. I don't get why most people are bashing the drama because their OTP didn't happened. This drama was well executed and there were plenty of hints from the start. What mattered was not how much the two feel for her but how SHE feels. She followed her heart and that is what mattered. I mean, if you watch the drama in DS's point of view, you would see the hints and understand why she ended up loving him.

There's history behind it. I read it on Soompi, there was an article on Wikipedia but I can't remember on which page of the Soompi threads it was that had the link. Anyway, let's wait until EP 20 subs, I'm sure they'll give the explanation.

@sweetmelissa, agree, couldn't have said it better myself. JH's arc was indeed a good life lesson and it was bitter sweet in the end. He got his closure by finally confessing and once he saw DS's reaction, to save face he pretended it was a joke. But we see that DS knew it was the truth. DR and SW went along with the joke to help him save face.

No actually, Sunwoo's surname was never actually revealed in the drama until the very last episode.
