she doesn't have to pretend to be her. What i mean is, GYJ and JSM are too different i have a hard time convincing myself GYJ is the original ChoYeong/Mudeok/Naksu. In season 1 i like FL for being feisty, spunky, witty and independent. I don't find those qualities in this season.

ok ep23 he apologized and explained why he took advantage of her (bc he wanted to keep her close). Meanwhile, his sincere confession of love swayed me. What a shame it's conveyed through a letter that couldn't be delivered to her. Then comes the separation. --- ep26-27 they meet again and spend a night together lol.

on ep8 and their misunderstanding is resolved and ML's valuables were recovered, largely thanks to FL, yet ML didn't even apologize, much less thank FL and pay her back for all the troubles he put her through. He only regarded her as a useful tool whom he could make the most out of, and whom he didn't have to pay much. What an ungrateful and unapologetic profiteer.

Not to mention him looking down on her with prejudice because she's from the whorehouse. My first impression about him is that he's a condescending self-entitled fake noble lol. Hope he gets better.
this drama is so damn good. I laughed my heads off and cried my eyeballs out. Love everything, from the cinematography, to the plot, the dialogues, the screenwriting, the masterful portrayals from the casts, and the dynamics among the characters. Everyone nailed their roles. Such a wholesome journey.
overrated. I tried hanging on till ep13, but I still can't stand FL. Bratty, spoiled, presumptuous, clingy, bothersome, burdensome, and always throwing herself at ML (；一_一). Gosh the secondhand embarrassment (¬_¬). Watching her made me lose a ton of brain cells as i struggled to keep my sanity intact with my face cringed and my eyes rolled. So many stupid misunderstandings, and the kisses weren't that good either. I would rate this 5.0 and that's being generous. This is not worth it. Dropped.
I started off watching for the romance between the leads, but i fell in love with everyone here. First off, I friggin adore FL's disposition. Being opinionated and forthcoming, she faces obstacles head-on and would never shy away from a fight. She's true to her heart, doesn't play hard to get, and would never resort to cheap tricks to get the man she wants, aka knowingly and deliberately flirting with other guys just to make ML jealous. I admire her for confidently saying her feelings outright, whether they're positive or negative, without fear and feeling of embarrassment/shame; as well as for her unconditional protection of and undying loyalty to her family, her relentless pursuit of justice, her wise judgment and assertive personality, and her unwavering love and trust for ML. In terms of acting, FL is the driving factor of the drama. She naturally radiates an air of valiance and unshakable daunt, with a streak of stubbornness and hot-headedness.
As for ML, I didn't like him at first because of his hesitation and circumvention, not to mention him being aloof. But i fell for him big time after his unyielding, unfaltering love confession on ep12, when he poured his heart out to her, despite feeling rejected priorly. His acting is not exceptionally outstanding like FL, as he couldn't pull off the conflicted micro-expressions, and some of his angsty scenes are not impactful enough through his acting, but he did well overall. I'm impressed by his character growth, which transform from the most sought-after and renown gentleman who's immaculate and erudite, and appears to be aloof, nonchalant, and hard-hearted to a jealous softy when in love. His eye-candy look along with his warm and gentle affection for FL that stands in stark contrast with his usual calculating, scheming character certainly compliments his character portrayal.
The rest of the casts were portrayed vividly and convincingly, nicely fleshed out as multi-dimensional humans in the historical setting, with their own strengths and shortcomings, and neither flawless nor pure evil. I love that the protagonists' flaws and the antagonists' good qualities were also underscored here, as well as their motivations, which were sufficiently explained during the show. There's no stupid misunderstanding nor hateful, triggering characters who are used as cannon fodder for the plot device. The plot is wittily and elaborately written, which reveals the motives of the folks therein, while also highlighting the interwoven dynamics among them with lots of humor incorporated. Kudos to the screenwriter for place our leads in all sorts of ironically hilarious situations lol. What a wholesome, heart-warming, and highly entertaining show. Overall 9/10 for me.
