I think that your theory about Shi De's perspective makes lots of sense. The amnesia theories don't say Shi De forgot Shu Yi's existence, just that he forgot the university time he was with Shu Yi. But at the same time this makes no sense... it would be too specific to just forget the university years he was with Shu Yi, plus there are the videos and photos of them dating, his mother and friends. And Shi De's mother knows Shu Yi and she'd for sure contact him if Shi De had a big accident that caused amnesia. And lets not forget that Shi De was in love with and followed Shu Yi around since they were ten and up until highschool he was still following Shu Yi around. So even if he had amnesia and forgot university, he'd still remember he's in love with Shu Yi and so he would keep on following him around like he was already doing in high school, instead of being away for 5 years and/or coming back and be totally away/hidden from Shu Yi.

This actually makes lots of sense. I need to review the show all over again, but in that scene where Shi De is dining with his mother and even in the conversations with the doctor, it gave me the impression that Shi De was going to move with his mother. At that dinner conversation I got the idea that they talked about moving, not just Shi De being there a few months. But at the same time Shu Yi got to know Shi De's mother, so if it was a more definitive move, wouldn't that come to surface in conversations with the mother?

The cast has been talking a lot about the issue of communication. And on the last poster they talked about regret. This would be something Shi De would probably think it's difficult to forgive himself for and extremely heartbreaking for Shu Yi. Shi De could regret not having communicated properly with Shu Yi about moving to America because he didn't want to ruin the bubble of happiness they created. In his talk with the doctor he said he was surprised with how Shu Yi was with him and his mother, like he never expected this to happen.

If this is indeed what happened and he left Shu Yi hanging just because of that yes, he deserves that slap and Shu Yi being angry and I think he'd have to grovel to have his forgiveness. But I'm still inclined about the father's involvement, unless that scene on episode 6 was a red herring to fool us.

That's not important in this drama nor even touched upon. It doesn't matter.

I'm still crying over how Shu Yi and Shi De's mom liked each other so much and Shu Yi got emotional thinking about his deceased mother and also how Shi De said she would one day be his mother too (marriage). They love each other so much and their relationship was so beautiful. How am I going to wait 1 month for them and then be slapped in the face (pun intended) by angst?

There are also other theories explaining the 76K hours like Shi De being in Hawai and it involving the time difference between Hawai and Taiwan and another theory that says the 76K hours were since they met until they become a couple (separated/not a couple), then they dated as we saw and then 5 years passed. These last 2 also say that Shu Yi's dad did something to make Shi De believe that it would be better for Shu Yi not being with him. There are all kinds of theories circulating around haha

I think the scene with the dad was to somehow imply that he might have been involved in their separation. I think that the scene with the dad though it felt random, might not be as random as it felt.

Did you see the scene after the credits?

I'm just hoping that the amnesia theory is wrong. I don't want it lol Maybe we're all overthinking and it will be something much simpler haha

Edit to add that the last poster they released has a text that talks about regrets. I think this points more to regrets of Shi De not coming back than amnesia.

But did Shi De transfer to Shu Yi's university before graduation or on the junior year? That's what I'm confused about, I thought it was on the senior year.

No one knows, but the main theories circulating around are: Shi De had amnesia (the amount of hours he said they were apart doesn't match with 5 years) or that Shu Yi's dad did something to make Shi De believe it was better not to come back to Shu Yi. No one is sure but it seems like Shi De didn't get back to Shu Yi after going to America.

Something else that makes me not fully believe the amnesia theory is that there is no way Shu Yi wouldn't know. Shi De's mother would have told him (or even his friends) if Shi De had a big accident that caused memory loss. Also there were videos, photos, drawings etc easily accessible to Shi De that would make him at least know he dated Shu Yi, even if he had amnesia. So no way he'd be far away from Shu Yi, even if he didn't remember they dated because as you said it would be out of his character, plus he'd have plenty of evidence available that they dated.

I have no idea. Special episodes usually don't influence the plot nor have plot relevance, so I'm thinking probably more cute boyfriend moments instead of something that would explain what happened int he 5 years.

So the producer said the special episode of Shi De and Shu Yi will be before part 2. We keep on winning and being well fed!

2nd season in 5th March and before that we'll also have a special episode dedicated to Shu Yi and Shi De!

But weren't they at the same school during high school? In the beginning there's a scene where Shi De gets better grades where they look the same as now and I thought that was high school.

This is just a theory. I also hope it's not true. People are also saying that it also matches with Shi De having transferred to Shu Yi's university on the last semester of university (it's 8,74 years and not full 9 years). People are also saying that Shi De's face in the teaser scene looked too neutral and not understanding what was going on. They are also saying that this would be a strong enough reason for Shi De not being with Shu Yi anymore after going to America. Also Shi De wanting to create memories before graduation being a foreshadow.

However, there were photos and videos of them together while they were dating and Shi De's mom knew Shu Yi. So it would be very unlikely even with amnesia that Shi De wouldn't know he dated Shu Yi. Also, none of the cast interviews or clues we got about season 2 (almost nothing so far) seemed to point for amnesia. I'm praying that this is not the case and that it was more like Shu Yi making Shi De believe that it was better for Shu Yi to break up.

Some people on twitter are speculating that Shi De got amnesia (car accident or something) and only remembers the last time seeing Shu Yi in high school and doesn't remember university, hence the discrepancy between the hours making almost 9 years and it having been 5 years since they actually last seen each other and now I want to cry in a corner.

The fact that Bing Wei and Zhe Yu were there in suits with Shu Yi, makes me believe that they all became work colleagues and were there in a work related mission and that not only did Shi De break Shu Yi's heart (due to something Shu Yi's father did that Shu Yi doesn't know yet), but also became the boss of a rival company. Zhe Yu and Bing Wei also seemed angry, which makes me believe that the companies they work in are rivals.

I cried a lot too lol Of happiness for seeing them so in love but also of sadness for knowing that at some point something would happen. And then they showed the season 2 teaser and I felt so sad for them.
