Lol. And here I am wishing I have memory loss for all the dramas I’ve watched so that I can rewatch multiple times…

Still can’t get over this series… I find the chemistry between the leads, the storyline and the production superb. Also super sad over wot happened to Zhang Zhe Han…. I still want to watch him act….. 😭 he is a good actor!

I lost interest after the first arc, found the evil character, Ying Deng too annoying due to way too much screen time. Also the whole mortal realm is too……. Uhhh… don’t know. Pacing issue? Or maybe the plot…. 🤔 Dropped it!

There was another one… that dude from The King’s Woman…. He also matched pretty well coz he had similar looks and vibes with the SML here…. I remembered their scenes were pretty intense though I can’t recall how tall he is… likely around Yang Yang’s height….? 🤔

Actually come to think of it, Gong Jun would have been AMAZING in this role as a merman. It’s so him… hahaha…

Yea. Good analysis, ooooo so Allen Ren is the shortest one… no wonder, coz Dilraba is already around 170 for sure… even on-screen you can tell it should be around there.

Not only that…. Dilraba has very prominent facial features, even without makeup. Hence also probably why the original poster found the chemistry with the SML better, I felt the same too coz the SML has very deep facial features. It was especially obviously when they exchanged scenes… like the SML doesn’t even need to have much of a facial expression, just occurs naturally.

I felt Yang Yang could match up coz he looks like a fox… lol. 🤣 He has very sharp facial features as well although he isn’t that much taller or bigger than her. So their presence on screen was still pretty compatible….

I saw in some of the posters released that they highlighted/enhanced Gong Jun’s features with makeup…. Should be able to match up to Dilraba’s… really super curious to see how it turns out. Wen KeXing really reminds me of “Dong Fang Bu Bai” from ages ago…. Like the classic Chinese movie.

Will check it out! But I really can’t…… deal with pretty/flower boys… and he’s naturally not my type… so will have to see how it works out with Dilraba…

Yeasss! I’m super curious on how that pairing will turn out because Gong Jun is kinda feminine in a way… lol. Perhaps I was too influenced by his character in Word of Honour, it was too formidable…

For sure, hence I still think her best partner is Vengo Gao 🤣 I still think visually they look amazing tog. Then comes Leo Wu but both are all at least 6 feet tall and they are kinda broad… Allen has a rather small built…
I did think they look kinda odd tog when I first saw them on-screen but they both played their roles really well… I still watched the entire thing coz of their acting, it was pretty convincing and engaging esp in the 2nd half after all the emotional build-up.

It really was very real…. Yea, I’ve never seen anything realistic before in dramas… not even in movies I think… but in Miss Truth I’m sure she played it instead of being dubbed. It was obvious. That was the only one…
I really think he played the Guqin though…. I don’t know… Guqin should be quite tough, like the harp…. The harp is really difficult…. But Guqin is a lot smaller and lies flat though… 🤔

Not only horse riding…. The scene whereby he played the Guqin….. that was the most realistic instrument playing I’ve ever seen on-screen…. I still have no idea if it was real.

There was only another one… think it was a pipa… can’t remember which drama, but it was an actress , I Googled and she REALLY could play a pipa… like she majored it at university.

I honestly didn’t feel it was like super apparent until the end…. They built up the climax pretty well. But the last 15-mins was like an abrupt deal-breaker seriously…….. I was so annoyed I rated it 8.5 then….. after rewatching this time round I can’t decide if it should be a 9 or a 8.5…….still annoyed but less “wth” kinda feeling…

Impressed by her two previous works… like really impressed. So I don’t think she is a 1-hit-wonder… Can’t wait to see wot this one is all about.

Lol. Allen Ren is a bit small for Dilraba. Dilraba is kinda tall… I think both of them acted really well in the series but probably lost out on visual + physical chemistry…

Yea…. Another 30 minutes would have been perfect. The last 2 episodes were defo rushed…. Not a deal-breaker but it was slightly rushed…

I tried to recall if there were other series being similar but nothing really came up….. maybe Joy of Life? A little bit? Hurmmmm 🤔

Yea. But it’s likely partially because she’s only 14…. The actress I meant… no idea how old she should be in the novel… Yea, the Eng translation of the novel was kinda weird.

But Leo and Lusi’s chemistry was definitely supported by the script of LLtG…. In that one the entire romance was so “dreamy”…. 🤣 the ML role was so….. lol. I mean it’s like “every-girls’s-dream” kinda thing. And they did the entire roller coaster emotions thing on the romance bit due to all the plots.

Reallllyyyy…. I didn’t read the entire novel because I couldn’t find a solid English version… so only read chapters here and there… yea but I notice many differences with the novel although they did keep the main framework… I really like the FL character though…. Lu Si did a good job in giving it a good balance. The FL is so cool here and at the same time also feminine.

Same!! I thought the exact same thing about not watching it initially too and it reminds me of The Rebel Princess…. Like at least both the novels do on some main points..
