Yea it is but even the novel is quite mellow unlike Untamed with explicit scenes in the novel… I personally find their chemistry off the charts better than the 2 leads in Untamed…. Perhaps due to them being more experienced/seasoned actors…
Trying to finish Immortal samsara maybe when I have the motivation, I watch another ongoing kdrama Big Mouth.Waiting…
Ah… yea… make sense…. I do like tasks, missions etc… but yea, it has to be balanced…. I realised so many series are so off-balanced… ah… also now that you mention it, it’s the chemistry as well….. the chemistry totally disappeared once they got to the mortal realm…. Like the whole like unbreakable bond kinda thing. Like the way he looks at her and she looks at him etc…

I actually like tried to think of why though…. And I still couldn’t figure it out… it’s partly because the 2 leads are not as charming/visually perfect as the Eternal Love series……? I actually thought the storyline was acceptable though….. I don’t really know why I got so impatient…. And annoyed…. Aside from I’m not really a fan of the 2 leads, neither do I dislike them….. 🤔

Yea the difference was just too huge and also so abrupt…. And then it made me realise how amazing Eternal Love and Eternal Love of Dream is for being able to maintain things for 3 lifetimes/realms… lol I just took it for granted then coz those 2 were one of the first few C-dramas I watched….
I totally didn’t enjoy The Longest Day in Chang’an…. Probably just skip it…
Serious. Even I was like…. Why did everyone rate this thing so high… I mean yea, the cinematography and production quality is really high though, you can tell it’s super high budget. It’s closer to a movie… But the whole thing in terms of flow and logic was like….. why….. did they have to do this…. Have you watched 24 the American series before? So basically 24 is successful partly because they don’t have like 50 important characters…. Like the important roles are kept to a minimum because it is meant to be a sequence of events occurring over 1 day only. Viewers were very engaged and invested in the ML following him across the entire series… this one I totally felt like I got conned coz I followed the MLs and in the end I got nothing…. The entire plot as much as it was surprising had to be explicitly and verbally revealed by some dude I don’t even really remember…. I had to go back to the older episodes to find him. 🤣
I haven’t watched this, I just finished Nirvana in Fire and also feel a little odd, maybe my expectations were too high… so I’m a little concerned on starting all these super political and heavy kinda series. I feel C-dramas still haven’t really nailed this genre yet. I’ve heard really good things about The Advisor’s Alliance though… 🤔 so just looking around now….

That one actually had a lot of action and was fast paced…. But like….. the whole plot was overly convoluted for no reason and the whole story-telling failed…. 130 characters and they tried to make everyone “important” forcefully…. In the end you just go like “?!?!?” And then they had to rely on a really random dude whom you probably struggle to recall who he is to recap the entire plot verbally for 15 minutes at the end……. I’m not even kidding…. And then I went “Ooooo….. right….. I see…. Wait, who is this guy again….. he looks familiar…. 🤔”
So the way the story was told wasn’t engaging like they didn’t give the viewers the opportunity to discover the plot themselves as the series progressed….
After it ended it just left me having a wot-on-planet-Earth-just-happened feeling……
