Hope this gets subbed in Eng for international viewers. It was really good…
Also, totally appreciate the production crew for casting actual bilingual Japanese + Mainland actors, makes the viewing experience so much more enjoyable and pleasant… also makes it very believable/realistic…
This series is so different compared to the other Daomu Biji novels…. Mainly because of the whole Li Cu arc……
Liang Wan here really really really annoyed me. Shitz… and she is quite crucial to the plot…. I cringe almost like every time when she is in the picture.
Currently re-watching this for the 3rd time while waiting for more episodes of Love Like The Galaxy to air. I…
Seriously… was perfect… like I mean there are soooooo many actors that play the China Emperor roles… like I can’t tell A from B honestly coz there are just too many… but he nailed this particular role head on. Very impressive and also memorable.
I did a short Google check on him and apparently he is the go-to Emperor actor though….. but I don’t think I’ve watched him prior to JoL.
The ending is going to be super rushed again…….. why do so many C-dramas have this issue…. 😔
Claps to the editing and production crew. It was rushed BUT the flow was natural unlike the crazy Mystic Nine drama I just rewatched. Am glad C-drama editing seems to be somewhat progressing…
This just had too many subplots and most were barely tied. Literally leaving to the last episode to solve two…
Ending was rushed but was smooth and coherent, they did address the ID theft issue!
Ideally it should have been a 1-hour episode then it would be close to perfect… surprisingly they closed the water contamination arc pretty abruptly… so they took a “shortcut” there…

Yea, can already tell how rushed it will be with how Episode 39 ended. They are probably only going to address the water contamination arc. It’s madness. And C-dramas’ individual episodes are only 35-40 mins, not even an hour……. =.=
Are they insinuating that Khun Korn is Porsche’s father? Like I’m confused with that whole bit with his mother…..…
But then there was an insinuation that Porsche is his son…… coz there was that flashback when Korn first saw his surveillance footage he made a statement…. “He looks like……” and then the sentence was incomplete….
Can someone please explain the ending to me….. I still don’t completely understand it even after reading the…
Are they insinuating that Khun Korn is Porsche’s father? Like I’m confused with that whole bit with his mother….. his mother died at the end in the novel… so basically Khun Korn did kill Porsche’s father? Or at the very least there is an insinuation that Porsche could be Kinn’s cousin…. I’m so confused….. they didn’t quite close that part properly…
The whole water contamination arc reminds me of the Erin Brockovich figure + movie…
This sub-plot might actually also be depicting a real-life case that happened in 2015 although this also happens in other countries like US unlike the Gaokao/identity theft incident..
Am impressed in the sense that C-dramas have finally caught up in reflecting actual issues in the society and they managed to cast famous/popular artistes…. Usually these kinda dramas often go unnoticed likely because the cast is relatively unknown esp outside of China..
When they met, Qjnglai thought that Xingfu and he were in the same boat... uneducated, simple, and sacrificing…
Yea… the bit whereby he is brought up by grandparents is pretty worrying… it’s alright when he was an infant… but it looks like he is already ~3 yrs old…
Think QL-XF relationship mostly lack foundation…. Most of the getting to know each other only happened after marriage which surprisingly still happens in real life in current times…. XF has a point when she said QL actually quite a decent guy, I concur…. It all comes down to expectations and compatibility.
QZ-YN is closer to wot should have “ideally” and usually takes place in a relationship. You already make major discoveries although not its entirety before you marry/live together with someone. And couples are faced with the big question of whether they want to accept these things and still get married.

Not the same…. Those are just very bullet point on the surface qualities/similarities…. It is exactly like you mentioned about knowing someone’s character… that doesn’t occur overnight but equally one don’t necessarily need to trial-and-error by living under the same roof to discover a person’s character or family. Relationships are built with time, effort and most importantly observation…. These can all be built to great lengths albeit with some limitation before marriage..
Gosh. Moral of story is women should get married, both men and women should BUT defo shouldn’t get married in a haste and to any Tom, Dick and Harry seriously….. the whole course of your life takes a 180 degree turn when you marry the wrong person and never get a divorce….
Xing Fu deserves so much better... if she found the right partner when she was slightly older with more life experiences she probably would be a CEO of a big company (although it look like she’s heading in that direction now)… Her story reminds me of Maria Cordero’s real life story a little… they have similar spirits and character though physically they look very different.. lol.
Also a side note, totally want to commend the production team on FINALLY maintaining the presumably original English dubbing of Caucasian actors!! Bravo! These nuances are super important seriously…. Esp for this kinda drama. The French guy Frank reminds me of my ex-boss.
