This series should be closer to scoring 8… I’m surprised that it scored so high, 8.4 is relatively high for a C-drama… I think the cases are defo logical and interesting but I found the chemistry of the trio so-so for me….. think it’s partially contributed by the fact that they naturally look a bit odd on screen due to their physical traits.
I found it difficult to focus on the Cambridge guy because he didn’t say any of his English lines in English and there were quite a bit of them…. Lol…. Only Leon Zhang really got the vibe, the gaze and the demeanour of his role accurately. The girl also didn’t portray the role of growing up in a gangster fam…. 😔 I can believe that she is rebellious but that was about it….
I’m defo struggling to finish the series although I really want to….
Can’t wait for this mostly due to Viann Zhang. Hoping trio would have better chemistry… I had a hard time working through the entire MRIAD… cases were interesting but…. Somehow something was off… I didn’t find the bond between the trio enjoyable…
As much as the drama is too long with many flaws… I do think some of their fights and some of their dialogues are very realistic….. it’s really applicable to modern couples nowadays esp when the FL commented that there wasn’t really much of a courtship. And the chemistry between the leads is amazing, really super natural as always for Dilraba.
Yes, the product placements in this series is really ridiculous… it’s crazy, was so in-your-face… 😒
Liang Wan here really really really annoyed me. Shitz… and she is quite crucial to the plot…. I cringe almost…
Lol. Yeap. We do. Kinda funny… but oh wells. I just hope that the writer will close and end all the arcs properly at some point… IF he can’t control or envision the development of the plot….

Yea, the whole Daomu Biji universe is rather complicated because chronologically it is confusing too. I had to read the summaries below to understand them so this might help (if you are interested):
I hope this will be a hit, Jeremy Tsui’s historical dramas have been mediocre/miss rather than hits….. he was really good in Trace, that was a good series…
They pick him up at the end, think it’s literally the last chapter of this volume.. then he becomes a main role again in the subsequent volumes “Reunion” or “Restart”…
Agree but plot wise it was…… super duper uber convoluted….. to the extent that I think they overdid it and…
Yea was super crazy and there were 130 roles casted……….. I was legit confused at the end on the numerous characters. It’s sad though because this drama could have been so much more in terms of plot and execution…
