read above if you're interested in what might be zhang qi ling's family heritage and okay with spoilers, give…
Lol. It would have been a super probable theory if they occurred like 1000 yrs earlier, they appeared too late…. It was already modern times similar to the whole formation of Mystic Nine if not around the same time I.e there were modern soldiers, Lieutenant and Generals. Think the whole ZQL thing was ancient like even prior to Mystic Nine because Zhang Qi Shan’s father is also a ZQL.
Chronologically it is the Ultimate Note. But even in the original novel itself albeit plot wise and timeline wise being a continuation, the flow of event of of things are naturally a bit confusing… at the start of Episode 1 in the Ultimate Note the ML verbally gives a quick summary to provide a “weak” link to the final episode of the Lost Tomb 2.5.
My question after watch TLT1, TLT2 now im watching Mystic Nine, is Zhang Qiling Fo Ye's son? If he is then he…
Never explicitly clarified before but from all the clues can deduce that they are like “distant cousins” perhaps many times removed or like very distant.
Wu Xie is like annoying in the series because of how naive he is…. Now I know why his nickname is “Tien Zhen” which means innocent basically. Pang Zhi is superb hilarious in this one…
Sorry but I found this to be the worst TV adaptation out of the whole Daomu Biji series…. Epic fail.
Also can’t believe they actually changed 40% of the main cast when the story is literally a direct/explicit continuation from the ending (like last 5 episodes overlaps in a way) of Lost Tomb 2. They even changed the ML, like the actor is so so different from Neo Hou… wth. Mainland dramas are super crazy at times….. seriously.
No offence to the ML actor I’ve never seen his other works but he REALLY is unsuitable to play Wu Xie, he’s therefore the worst casting out of all the TV adaptations.
A lot of people says that it's not good, boring, etc... I watched this more than a year ago, but this is my favourite…
Reunion was my most favourite one out of all actually… mainly because of the execution, acting/cast and production! Loved it. This was the only one where I feel everything flows smoothly and no editing issues at all.
The actor was, but he was playing a different role in the other series… in that series he was from the Wang…
Lol. Yeap, I seriously don’t know why C-dramas do that. It’s only dramas produced in the Mainland that do this. Geez… I mean I get the whole contractual issues and schedule clash but it’s still dumb… Imagine like Iron Man changing actors every sequel/prequel…. Ridiculous.
I agree. Nothing against Edward Zhang (he's a good actor), but I just can't see him as Wu Xie (especially since…
Not only that…. They do this whole annoying thing (happens with other C-dramas too) that he was the same actor that played Wu Lao Go in The Mystic Nine…. How dumb and confusing is that…
At first, I thought Liang Wan would be crucial for the plot, so I never skipped her scenes for the first few episodes,…
Lol. I don’t like her either, could likely be the actress that portrayed her role didn’t exactly fit well/naturally. I was just so annoyed at her the entire series I skipped all of it. Like she has this face and physique which is too cutesy… and just her being in the tomb was weird. Even weirder with Zhang Ri Shan.
This series is so different compared to the other Daomu Biji novels…. Mainly because of the whole Li Cu arc… I’m still sad it ended, but not entirely sure how I feel about the whole Sand Sea plots and subplots.. it’s defo super intriguing to find “9 Doors” people interacting closely with “normal people”… but all in all it left me feeling ambivalent though defo no regrets on watching it.

I know… I don’t know why C-dramas do that. I personally find it dumb and confusing. Like how main leads can change actors and how like they inter-swap actors between roles for something that is considered the same story. How dumb is that….
i wonder if the series is going have the 8 volume made into a drama. i hope so!
Do they have a volume 8 in novels already? Is it under the whole “Restart”/Chong Qi series? But I read in the comments below that this one was the last novel.
The last 3 episodes was a serious mess…. Wot the hell, ruined the whole series… why was the editing so horrendous for the ending. Like completely random scenes glued together… the whole series was so great and exciting until the end. Totally ruined my re-watching experience…. I forgot it was so random, probably the worst editing I’ve seen in dramas and it happened so randomly at the end of the drama.
Can anyone shed light on the actual novel? Apparently it’s incomplete.
Watched it on gimy. But I realised it’s actually pretty low definition…. You should prob wait a bit. It isn’t the worst but I think it’s recorded in a cinema and they edited it so it wasn’t obvious.
I watched it without subs, was amazing. Very unique storyline… and both the child and Zhu Yi Long have amazing acting capabilities…. And they have pretty good chemistry. Esp the child actress…
You can read it here… so Zhang family existed long before the Ming dynasty.
