Wanted to add I think the reason I like the main actress so much, is that she reminds me so much of Bai Lu for…
I always get confused between Bai Lu and Li Qin. I thought they were the same actress when I just started watching C-dramas. They give off the doppelgänger vibe although not as strongly as Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

After re-watching Tomb of Sea…. They defo should have casted Qin Hao for Reunion and Zhu Yi Long for the other. Qin Hao’s gaze just naturally wins hands down. He would have suited the timeline for this one perfectly given all the experiences Wu Xie has been through. Zhu Yi Long is really a tad too young to emulate the Wu Xie in the corresponding Chong Qi novel.

Still love this TV adaptation though…. It’s a lot smoother… and flows a lot more naturally. And of course most of the cast did a fantastic job.
And all the OSTs were amazing, the only adaptation that had amazing OSTs in my opinion.

I came here just to ask the EXACT same question as well. And also Huo Xiu Xiu + Hei Yan Jing. They should have…
Yeap that’s fine, so totally appreciate the very short verbal summary right at the start to try to give some form of connection to the prior TV adaptation + background….
But this whole Xiao Hua meeting the first time thing is quite ridiculous given he has multiple arcs over the course of the many novels. There must be only one “right/real” meeting for the first time.,… unless even in the novel, I.e the author is also crazy or like amnesiac…. Which could be the case for someone who has wrote 1600 chapters… but someone should have stepped in to cross-check when they do TV adaptations….

I like the Pan Zi here the most out of all. He fits the role like how I imagined him to be. Casted perfectly. Casting and artiste changing + swapping for the whole Lost Tomb series is superb crazy. Mess. Ridiculous. Even Leads can change in every single adaptation…… wot the………..

Isn't wu xie supposed to know adult xiao hua ? I mean they had a full arc together in season 2 ??
I came here just to ask the EXACT same question as well. And also Huo Xiu Xiu + Hei Yan Jing. They should have all known each other prior…… I’m so confused… Does anyone know the ans…..?

Some questions went unanswered but overall it was worth watching.Would have liked to know more about Qiling though.
I believe that Qiling would somewhat be addressed in Tibetan Sea Flower. Think the series is completed but not released yet.

So disappointed in them changing the actor of Xiao Ge.😤😟😫🥺
They’ve changed it like a zillion times, the actor is different for every single adaptation… how crazy is that. Just like Wu Xie.

I have nothing against the actor they picked for Wu Xie he is probably a great actor but I think they picked wrong.…
Couldn’t agree more, I was thinking the same Zhu Yi Long is after Edward Zhang that totally makes no sense, the difference physically is so obvious… epic fail

read above if you're interested in what might be zhang qi ling's family heritage and okay with spoilers, give…
Lol. It would have been a super probable theory if they occurred like 1000 yrs earlier, they appeared too late…. It was already modern times similar to the whole formation of Mystic Nine if not around the same time I.e there were modern soldiers, Lieutenant and Generals. Think the whole ZQL thing was ancient like even prior to Mystic Nine because Zhang Qi Shan’s father is also a ZQL.

You can read it here… so Zhang family existed long before the Ming dynasty.

This Zhang Qiling is the most talkative Qiling I have ever seen of all the Qilings of the TLT saga 😆
And also totally doesn’t have the mysterious ZZL at all. He looks like such a sunshine boy….. epic fail. 😒

Hello what is the next for this one
Chronologically it is the Ultimate Note. But even in the original novel itself albeit plot wise and timeline wise being a continuation, the flow of event of of things are naturally a bit confusing… at the start of Episode 1 in the Ultimate Note the ML verbally gives a quick summary to provide a “weak” link to the final episode of the Lost Tomb 2.5.

My question after watch TLT1, TLT2 now im watching Mystic Nine, is Zhang Qiling Fo Ye's son? If he is then he…
Never explicitly clarified before but from all the clues can deduce that they are like “distant cousins” perhaps many times removed or like very distant.

Wu Xie is like annoying in the series because of how naive he is…. Now I know why his nickname is “Tien Zhen” which means innocent basically. Pang Zhi is superb hilarious in this one…

Sorry but I found this to be the worst TV adaptation out of the whole Daomu Biji series…. Epic fail.

Also can’t believe they actually changed 40% of the main cast when the story is literally a direct/explicit continuation from the ending (like last 5 episodes overlaps in a way) of Lost Tomb 2. They even changed the ML, like the actor is so so different from Neo Hou… wth. Mainland dramas are super crazy at times….. seriously.

No offence to the ML actor I’ve never seen his other works but he REALLY is unsuitable to play Wu Xie, he’s therefore the worst casting out of all the TV adaptations.

A lot of people says that it's not good, boring, etc... I watched this more than a year ago, but this is my favourite…
Reunion was my most favourite one out of all actually… mainly because of the execution, acting/cast and production! Loved it. This was the only one where I feel everything flows smoothly and no editing issues at all.

The actor was, but he was playing a different role in the other series… in that series he was from the Wang…
Lol. Yeap, I seriously don’t know why C-dramas do that. It’s only dramas produced in the Mainland that do this. Geez… I mean I get the whole contractual issues and schedule clash but it’s still dumb… Imagine like Iron Man changing actors every sequel/prequel…. Ridiculous.

I agree. Nothing against Edward Zhang (he's a good actor), but I just can't see him as Wu Xie (especially since…
Not only that…. They do this whole annoying thing (happens with other C-dramas too) that he was the same actor that played Wu Lao Go in The Mystic Nine…. How dumb and confusing is that…

At first, I thought Liang Wan would be crucial for the plot, so I never skipped her scenes for the first few episodes,…
Lol. I don’t like her either, could likely be the actress that portrayed her role didn’t exactly fit well/naturally. I was just so annoyed at her the entire series I skipped all of it. Like she has this face and physique which is too cutesy… and just her being in the tomb was weird. Even weirder with Zhang Ri Shan.

This series is so different compared to the other Daomu Biji novels…. Mainly because of the whole Li Cu arc… I’m still sad it ended, but not entirely sure how I feel about the whole Sand Sea plots and subplots.. it’s defo super intriguing to find “9 Doors” people interacting closely with “normal people”… but all in all it left me feeling ambivalent though defo no regrets on watching it.

I know… I don’t know why C-dramas do that. I personally find it dumb and confusing. Like how main leads can change actors and how like they inter-swap actors between roles for something that is considered the same story. How dumb is that….
