I found the “firecracker scene” from her hilarious as well… I really think the FL aced it though…. I mean females don’t always need to be super strong in only a specific way… she is very strong in her own way because she is daring and she just does wot she believes is right…. That requires courage too.

Not everyone in this world is born super smart or has to be smart, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses… otherwise it would be a damn boring world. she has her own strengths.

Wow.. the trailer gives a much better depiction than the synopsis here… the plot looks very intricate and multi-dimensional from the trailer.. I was surprised. Just watched the first 8 episodes and I would say it got better and better…. I was sad I couldn’t binge watch it when the 8th episode ended…

1. Only the first 2-3 episodes are a bit…. Odd… think it’s the pacing and also there wasn’t too much depth to the plot, like you couldn’t even picture what this drama is all about…
2. I actually do like the FL, I don’t think she’s a damsel in distress, she’s just childish and rebellious.. and that’s fair given she comes from a prominent family and she is really young.. I find her quite cute and funny actually. She has really funny banters with Su Meng Zheng’s buddy.

Can’t wait for the whole series/plot to unravel, it looks like tables will turn with a lot of the main characters.

But the full set is 45 episodes, knowing C-dramas there are 50 shades of wrong it can make….

Exactly! I’m pretty sure she/someone she is really close to, was in PE… or maybe she still is… a lot of scenarios she presented (even down to the details) were spot on…. I’ve only seen this in American dramas… not even K-dramas..

But I’ve never watched one which hits so close to home… the American dramas are usually pretty exaggerated. And for sure don’t portray finer details.

Not only that… really want to commend the writer for the nuances, details and care given to depict a young female graduate in a corporate world, especially in corporate finance… and really want to highlight the relationship with Su Wei Ran… from the start to the end,… on both male and female artiste. So so realistic…

I’ve honestly met all of the various portrayed “roles” in my corporate + personal life including people like He Yue Lian….

Why is this series only rated 8… super unfair 😭

Well said. Couldn’t agree more… I thought it would have been rushed…. But completely not…. I cried at so many points…. I wished all the C-dramas would maintain or adhere to this standard.

Amazing ending….. this is such a realistic series; one that made me super touched at various points… so very relatable to someone who works in capital markets…
Esp the storyline with Su Wei Ran… their dialogues/script has truly impressed me.

Wished it was produced 10 yrs ago..but that likely wouldn’t have been such a realistic plot!

I cried for the first time (because of this series) in episode 39… like a lot… was amazing and superb intense
But also totally want to highlight that the final fight scene with the villain was too…………. Lame.. specifically after they broke out of the roof… which some have commented that some of the previous duels are too “kiddy”/odd…

The ending I.e last couple of episodes was a bit weird in terms of editing/pacing… could have been a lot smoother… overall… loved this series because of how it is unique in some ways..

Yea agree. Think 34 episodes would have been perfect….
Made me realise how K-dramas having a standardised 16 episode 1-hour format 90% of the time makes a lot of sense… lol maybe they created an algorithm to deduce it that 16-hours golden number…

Interesting… the trailer here is clearly for the drama… similar vibe to the movie but with unknown cast… super curious about the drama for more depth and details on the plot/story.

This is surprisingly not bad… pretty good for such an old movie… wow… HK production back then was great… so sad the golden years have passed…

It is kinda cliche but there are similarities with this series given how it has all themes, lol. But that one was executed much better and the flow of the story was great.

Ah I have not watched 25,21 but I saw very high ratings… It’s Okay Not to be Okay is still my all time favourite but that’s slightly dated and you might have watched it…
Oh I bookmarked Reset too because it has super high ratings but haven’t watched it!

This actually reminded me of What’s wrong with Secretary Kim (I found this really good albeit cliché)… but I’m guessing you’ve watched that? I’m watching Master of My Own now (I also find this really good because it is very logical and realistic given I work in Finance)…. but it’s a C-drama… I haven’t really came across anything this year which is really good… Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha was good. Ghost Doctor was okayyy… I’m watching Our Blues now… that’s ok, would say it’s rather unique…

Shi Ying is amazing… esp in the upcoming episodes.. how I wish I met someone like that in my corporate career.. probably would have gone into investing…

Gong BeiBi does the part justice… never seen her in any other dramas before but she is apparently really famous.
