Only one small comment, somehow the colours of the drama looks odd…. It’s related to the production quality….? It looks like a high budget production…. But the colours are not as rich/high definition/clear/refined as JoL….? It’s odd… looks dated…..? I wonder why…
I’m hooked. This is so good, totally same vibes like JoL… I hope it really turns out to be as good as JoL, have never found another series like JoL, close to flawless…. The of Story MingLan is as good but that has a different theme.
Very similar undertones to The Story of Ming Lan…. But the cast feels a lot less…. “seasoned”…for this one? Thus the acting does not convey as much depth… The plot is definitely not as detailed, intricate and sensible. I loved Story of Ming Lan…. This one is not too bad, at least worth watching so far…
LOVED IT!!! Only flaw was the actor for the male villain role… too one-dimensional, considering sucha…. crazy plot… his acting could have been a lot more multi-dimensional…
What is it about Chinese writers and Directors feeling they need to do a 40 episode drama? What the actual fuck!…
Yea… 40 is too much for a romance-centric drama. I think they have improved over the years though… I see some at 24 and 30 now… think that’s the length to go for romance centric ones that have no other substantial main plots… or the max should be 32 which is mostly the format for K-dramas I.e 2-full 30-35 mins episodes back to back.
Geez…… the original source/novel is crazy intense. Just finished reading.. It’s actually one of the most weirded out plots (in a good way…. It makes it very intense and unique) I’ve came across in recent years. I’m definitely waiting for all remaining episodes to be out before binge watching, otherwise it’s literally impossible… too agonising… will be torture…
This drama has the most complicated side couples, you should watch and find out
LOLLL! After watching 10 episodes this was exactly wot I thought of too; in the same manner and when you factor in each of their parents…. There are another bunch of alphabets that pops up which is equally as complicated… I mean I get all the complicated relationships esp in large Asian families which are really rich and traditional…… but this series has just taken it to the next level….
Namgoong Min looks so different physically; both his face and his body… even his face, he almost looks like a different person altogether….. wow… crazy physical transformation…
This was so good… like wow. It is true that the 1st half was executed much better than the 2nd half of the series. I was truly surprised at how good it was though, maybe because I discovered this randomly/unexpectedly…
The sets/backdrop like the main house was so nice, the high ceilings, the furniture, colour tone… and there was effort spent on attention to details i.e the watch was real although they renamed it, the original one is called The Bradley by Eone. Even the OSTs were really good which is quite rare for C-dramas. The ML can really act…. I think he will get better as he gets more experienced but he delivered an amazing performance here…
Only downside for me was that I found the FL character (not the actress, well I don’t think it was her fault…) was a bit annoying at times.. and the wardrobe could have been better although it wasn’t bad/horrible considering C-drama standards…
The plot and the storyline had so many heart-wrenching moments and my heart was literally in knots…. I also found the plot relatively unique/memorable… esp the 1st half, 2nd half could also have been amazing because they had the key points/direction right just the subplots and flow was lacking… they could have made the 2nd half of the drama like the K-drama It’s Okay Not To Be Okay… I had to binge watch this one, definitely couldn’t have waited for it every week….
