Anyone watching this should watch in chronological order. As of 2022 there are 4 movies made under this collection. It should be 3–>4–>1–>2…. Defo less confusing wrt to the background and flow of the story/bigger picture. The entire collection is surprisingly really good though. I wonder if it’s from a novel… super intricate details and plot.
This is surprisingly really good. I watched all 4, they were all good except for the 3rd one. The 3rd one was a bit strange somehow… Think it was the confusion going from the 2nd to 3rd because of the change in actresses, actors and new characters introduced without explanation/background… I then realised that it’s probably because 1,2,3,4’s storyline isn’t in chronological order…. Should be 3 —> 4 —> 1 —> 2…
Amazing…. Caught me by surprise… very thoughtful and lotsa attention to detail with the intermittent details on the development/progress of South Korea as a country…. Depicts the mindset, culture and maturity of the people at different points in time….
On ep5 right now, FL really don’t have that main character’s aura. It’s kinda hard to get into the story…
Yeaaaa. Somehow the FL is lacking something…… charm, vibe, presence….? I couldn’t get into the story either coz I find the ML also kinda on borderline in that aspect…
Only one small comment, somehow the colours of the drama looks odd…. It’s related to the production quality….? It looks like a high budget production…. But the colours are not as rich/high definition/clear/refined as JoL….? It’s odd… looks dated…..? I wonder why…
I’m hooked. This is so good, totally same vibes like JoL… I hope it really turns out to be as good as JoL, have never found another series like JoL, close to flawless…. The of Story MingLan is as good but that has a different theme.
Very similar undertones to The Story of Ming Lan…. But the cast feels a lot less…. “seasoned”…for this one? Thus the acting does not convey as much depth… The plot is definitely not as detailed, intricate and sensible. I loved Story of Ming Lan…. This one is not too bad, at least worth watching so far…
LOVED IT!!! Only flaw was the actor for the male villain role… too one-dimensional, considering sucha…. crazy plot… his acting could have been a lot more multi-dimensional…
What is it about Chinese writers and Directors feeling they need to do a 40 episode drama? What the actual fuck!…
Yea… 40 is too much for a romance-centric drama. I think they have improved over the years though… I see some at 24 and 30 now… think that’s the length to go for romance centric ones that have no other substantial main plots… or the max should be 32 which is mostly the format for K-dramas I.e 2-full 30-35 mins episodes back to back.
Geez…… the original source/novel is crazy intense. Just finished reading.. It’s actually one of the most weirded out plots (in a good way…. It makes it very intense and unique) I’ve came across in recent years. I’m definitely waiting for all remaining episodes to be out before binge watching, otherwise it’s literally impossible… too agonising… will be torture…
