I’m surprised they stuck so closely to the novel…. With the exception of a few things… (i.e WJG doesn’t love MoXi and never did actually, he only took a liking to her, there isn’t a kid in the drama etc etc) but there are 2 more episodes left, meaning they elaborated the ending and probably changed things… coz the novel ended about like now… i.e episode 35.
Super underrated though the MDL score is more reflective vs. the Douban score. Sad that this drama was plagued by a scandal…. The main themes here are totally worth exploring and is intriguing…. Seldom explored by dramas…. I spse the thing that bugged most viewers was how the romance started…. So the love between the leads not only took many episodes to set up but it was written in kinda cringe-ey and unrealistic way (cringeworthy dialogue included)…. The weirdest thing is their relationship was so inspirational AFTER they got together. So this C-drama is in the minority whereby the best bit of the plot was in the last 10 episodes….. 🤔
Was actually quite surprised because the female lead characters were very strong, independent and admirable…. And the tech + A.I plot was actually really well-written… also the career of the other leads was refreshing…. it was pretty realistic….. esp because they all came from different walks of life….
It still has other flaws etc but I defo didn’t sense any misogyny nor bullying of women etc in the plot. It did very well in portraying just how men are…. They are certainly very different from women…
In short, it had a lot of potential, very watchable…. but the script should have been further refined to ‘perfect’ it…. Defo a good attempt given so many dramas nowadays are all about female perspective with feminism as the main theme (and some of them are totally sending the wrong msgs 🤦🏻♀️)…. I’m actually more curious of the male perspective….
First 20 episodes is daily...then a new schedule starts that requires waiting 😭(Thurs-Suns, I believe)
I was dumb… again…. I have been holding back, and waiting for it to complete airing before binging… but I noticed the episodes were quite quick to update so I thought it should just be another week or 10 days….. and then got sucked in before I read your comment and went to look at the schedule….. I’m like wth….. they actually daily release for 20 episodes…… before breaking it, I’ve never seen that before (at least I don’t recall it prior)…. Usually they only do it for first 10 episodes. OR they will daily release until the end.
Was the novel any good? 40 episodes is a lot for a modern office drama…,
Really?? I truly don’t have much faith in a 40 episode modern C- drama esp an office one, it’s way too long. Ok, looking forward to the adaptation then… the trailer doesn’t do it much justice coz it purely focuses on romance… that’s super difficult to carry for 40 episodes. I’m hoping it has a few main themes…
Here Here but I think this will be much better less infidelity and it seams more towards fulling unfinished love…
Oh hellooo!!! You watched Love too. 🙌🏻🙊👏🏻 think most people outside of Korea thinks that drama is pure craziness. 🤣did you watch all 3 seasons?? I got totally sucked into it unexpectedly…. It’s not usually my thing, coz I didn’t watch Penthouse, or SKY…
Really?? But all of them are married though…. As in all the dudes in the family… well the youngest son has yet to, but soon…. I somehow feel she’d still slot-in a heavy infidelity theme…..
Exactly.. whenever a new drama starts am afraid of the ending 😃.. hope this one has a proper HE..
Not only that…. it usually develops in a weird manner…. And this is a modern office C-drama with 40 episodes….. that’s a lot of episodes….. will be a challenging feat… 🤔 it’s typically much better flow, editing and plot development when it’s 24-32 episodes….
But this was adapted from a novel, so it could differ…. Really depends on the source material and screenwriting.
Couldn’t agree more with the review above. The 1st half is SOOooooo realistic. Lol, the ML gives sucha sense of familiarity…. But the deviation in the ending from the webtoon was totally so lame…. And superb clichéd….. why did they do that…. That’s totally the wrong msg to be sending out to young adults…. 🤦🏻♀️😔
Kim So Yeon was the perfect cast for the role…. She made it so sexy, badass and occasionally evil…. 😏😏😍😍 I loved this season much to my surprise…. Smart move to condense it to 12 episodes, defo very engaging….
Οκ this time things were more balanced compared to s1 also humor and bromance were the best parts for me !
I actually completed this one…. And really enjoyed it. I found the plot better amongst the other things you mentioned.
I dropped S1 actually. I like watching romance genres too…. But I found the romance in S1…. I don’t know… I still somewhat enjoyed the first half of it… but just lost interest as it progressed…. Partly due to the chemistry (which I’m not sure why…., they look great tog, and I watched BTS, they are really good friends), partly the plot, and probably other unidentified factors….
I thought they were the same person initially. 🤣 There is another dude that looks soooo similar to Cheng Yi…
lol. I think it’s a physical stereotype kinda thing in Mainland… so there are like certain…. ‘standards’….? Or blueprint….?
Coz…. Lol. I’m going to give another example… I TRULY thought Li Qin and Bai Lu was the same person for probably about a year…. 🤣 my bad. I’m like face-blind when it comes to many of the Mainland celebs…. It’s almost like there a set of ‘clusters’…..
It must be difficult for a Chinese woman to chose marriage. Who wants to get trapped in these?-she must take care…
Yeap. That’s the msg that all the more recent C-dramas in the past 5 years have explicitly highlighted….. like made it so damnnnn obvious, basically with a neon sign esp all the modern ones with family themes…. It becomes very extreme and also strange/abnormal…. Coz I mean the whole filial piety thing affects manyyyy Asian cultures… not only in Mainland… But to be fair, Mainland’s social issues are also very extreme (and will become more and more severe in the next 10-20 yrs) due to previous policies….
Yea, so there is a recent example of the scenario you quoted… I didn’t know about it until I came across the ‘Goo Hara act’ randomly…. Which is in S.Korea basically. It’s inspiring to see that they are progressing and they passed the act! Thank goodness. Felt sooooo unfair when reading about Goo Hara’s estate division. Some humans really have the audacity to do all sorts of crazy things. But yea, hence why I said…. I’m not so sure all these C-dramas should be sending such an extreme msg…. As society and mankind evolve and progress, anyone with half a brain will actually have a bigger retaliation towards an unreasonable and extreme msg… it just makes a person do the exact opposite when they probably wouldn’t normally have…

SIGHS…. Totally got conned….. again….. epic fail. 🤦🏻♀️
Ah… right…. Well fair… lol. I had the exact same feeling, so I’m going to stop watching and catch up later so I could binge watch.

Fingers and toes crossed that this is a real good drama, no weird endings plz.
To whoever who’s also watched Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)…. Let’s hope this turns out as addictive. 🙊💃🏻🙊💃🏻
