Exactly.. whenever a new drama starts am afraid of the ending š.. hope this one has a proper HE..
No idea. But I asked someone who read the novel in a different post and he/she said the novel was really good. So it gives me some hope that they have enough material for 38 episodes. Otherwise it will just be another editing and plot development gone wrong C-dramaā¦ā¦
Has no one rated this drama? Why still all zeros? š¤
The first 6 episodes are good. The focus isnāt on romance yet. I watched the trailer and I felt it was sooooo romance focused that it was a bit much given the 38 episodes. No idea if it would develop oddly, but some other MDL members read the novel and apparently the novel is really good.
It was the same in the novel, slightly worse actually. And I was actually really surprised after reading it because…
Haha, yea, I read some of the comments yesterday⦠to look at the pic with him in the mask. I think itās better coz the ending in the novel was beyond sad honestlyā¦. After I read it I felt so empty. Was like wthā¦. Sad ending is fine, but the words the author used and the way it was written was soā¦. Despondentā¦..?
Was kinda happy when I saw the picture, and I also thought the elaboration on what seems to be a revenge/comeback final 2 episodes to be VERY good. šš»šš»šš» The novel ending was so ironic⦠it ended at around episode 35ā¦.
2 episodes left and I have mixed feelings. The writers waited until the last 5 episodes for feelings to show up…
It was the same in the novel, slightly worse actually. And I was actually really surprised after reading it because he died so suddenlyā¦. I totally wasnāt expecting it. And the way he died was just soā¦.. sad. The entire thing was so sadly written in the novel. Itās almost like she had nothing⦠everything was like a ādreamāā¦. Coz in the novel she never even told him she loved himā¦.. like sheās always loving the wrong person at the wrong time and had neverā¦. Really had a real relationship. Everything came and went with the wind.., and in the end she ended up with nothingā¦.. š I think them not ending up together is fine, but the never having a real moment with CWD was justā¦ā¦ gosh. Beyond sad.
I donāt think he loved her at any point, not romanticallyā¦. I felt he was touched and didnāt mind reciprocating because there was no one else in the picture and she was aggressively pursuing him but it never was the romantic kinda loveā¦. I mean he fancied her but like defo not a āheart skips a beat and I canāt live without youā kindā¦Which I felt they kinda emulated in the drama as wellā¦. Except the ending I spse. In the earlier bits of the drama he did say that he views her more as a family⦠like a sisterā¦.
I actually preferred the novelās direction betterā¦
Yes, so in the novel the child came from a drunken nightā¦. Kinda was a mistake⦠hence why I think the guy just really feels responsible towards her and has all along viewed her as more of familyā¦. I do think he fancied her at one point but I never thought it was love.
Nope. Was made explicitly clear towards the endā¦. He definitely took a liking to her and reciprocated because she was so straightforward with her feelings and openly chased after himā¦. So all along his āidealā type of partner has always been BFY kind. I personally felt the novel made more sense because I think it kinda applies to both men and women generallyā¦. Like a guy chasing after a girl and the girl falls for a guy whoās not her typeā¦ā¦ not everyone will fall in love with the guy, think for girls the outcome is probably dividedā¦. Even if they choose to get together with the guy⦠doesnāt necessarily mean itās romantic kinda love. So I think it even more so applies to a guy given their nature.
Iām surprised they stuck so closely to the novelā¦. With the exception of a few things⦠(i.e WJG doesnāt love MoXi and never did actually, he only took a liking to her, there isnāt a kid in the drama etc etc) but there are 2 more episodes left, meaning they elaborated the ending and probably changed things⦠coz the novel ended about like now⦠i.e episode 35.
Super underrated though the MDL score is more reflective vs. the Douban score. Sad that this drama was plagued by a scandalā¦. The main themes here are totally worth exploring and is intriguingā¦. Seldom explored by dramasā¦. I spse the thing that bugged most viewers was how the romance startedā¦. So the love between the leads not only took many episodes to set up but it was written in kinda cringe-ey and unrealistic way (cringeworthy dialogue included)ā¦. The weirdest thing is their relationship was so inspirational AFTER they got together. So this C-drama is in the minority whereby the best bit of the plot was in the last 10 episodesā¦.. š¤
Was actually quite surprised because the female lead characters were very strong, independent and admirableā¦. And the tech + A.I plot was actually really well-written⦠also the career of the other leads was refreshingā¦. it was pretty realisticā¦.. esp because they all came from different walks of lifeā¦.
It still has other flaws etc but I defo didnāt sense any misogyny nor bullying of women etc in the plot. It did very well in portraying just how men areā¦. They are certainly very different from womenā¦
In short, it had a lot of potential, very watchableā¦. but the script should have been further refined to āperfectā itā¦. Defo a good attempt given so many dramas nowadays are all about female perspective with feminism as the main theme (and some of them are totally sending the wrong msgs š¤¦š»āāļø)ā¦. Iām actually more curious of the male perspectiveā¦.
First 20 episodes is daily...then a new schedule starts that requires waiting š(Thurs-Suns, I believe)
I was dumb⦠againā¦. I have been holding back, and waiting for it to complete airing before binging⦠but I noticed the episodes were quite quick to update so I thought it should just be another week or 10 daysā¦.. and then got sucked in before I read your comment and went to look at the scheduleā¦.. Iām like wthā¦.. they actually daily release for 20 episodesā¦ā¦ before breaking it, Iāve never seen that before (at least I donāt recall it prior)ā¦. Usually they only do it for first 10 episodes. OR they will daily release until the end.
Was the novel any good? 40 episodes is a lot for a modern office dramaā¦,
Really?? I truly donāt have much faith in a 40 episode modern C- drama esp an office one, itās way too long. Ok, looking forward to the adaptation then⦠the trailer doesnāt do it much justice coz it purely focuses on romance⦠thatās super difficult to carry for 40 episodes. Iām hoping it has a few main themesā¦
Here Here but I think this will be much better less infidelity and it seams more towards fulling unfinished love…
Oh hellooo!!! You watched Love too. šš»ššš» think most people outside of Korea thinks that drama is pure craziness. š¤£did you watch all 3 seasons?? I got totally sucked into it unexpectedlyā¦. Itās not usually my thing, coz I didnāt watch Penthouse, or SKYā¦
Really?? But all of them are married thoughā¦. As in all the dudes in the family⦠well the youngest son has yet to, but soonā¦. I somehow feel sheād still slot-in a heavy infidelity themeā¦..
Exactly.. whenever a new drama starts am afraid of the ending š.. hope this one has a proper HE..
Not only thatā¦. it usually develops in a weird mannerā¦. And this is a modern office C-drama with 40 episodesā¦.. thatās a lot of episodesā¦.. will be a challenging feat⦠š¤ itās typically much better flow, editing and plot development when itās 24-32 episodesā¦.
But this was adapted from a novel, so it could differā¦. Really depends on the source material and screenwriting.

SIGHSā¦. Totally got connedā¦.. againā¦.. epic fail. š¤¦š»āāļø
Ah⦠rightā¦. Well fair⦠lol. I had the exact same feeling, so Iām going to stop watching and catch up later so I could binge watch.

Fingers and toes crossed that this is a real good drama, no weird endings plz.
To whoever whoās also watched Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)ā¦. Letās hope this turns out as addictive. ššš»ššš»
