everything was good until i saw 🥭.. Crying internally.😭😭
LOL! I saw that too, on the Relationship Chart post…. and went 😳it’s not only the subs… they don’t usually do high quality/budget dramas. I was really surprised.
For those saying that the last 5 episodes were weird or unnecessary, I completely disagree. It’s actually really…
Same thinking. Before watching the last 5 episodes, I wondered hard on wot they were going to focus on… 🤔 I was quite surprised actually and I thought it was sucha good addition! Loved that they didn’t end the series once the overarching plot was settled, would have felt like something was amiss.
The cinematography and production budget….. oh gosh… like wow… it’s at the level of a movie production…. No wonder the score on MDL and Douban is so high, it has been on my Watchlist for a while but always procrastinated coz I thought it’d be very dry/boring and I’d drop after a few eps (like the American series SEAL Team, wasn’t bad at all but….. was dry, I dropped because I never quite built a connection/attachment)….
Was smart of them to follow a relatively straightforward plot so that the action shines, and the flow of the entire 45 eps is sooo smooth, gripping, probably the best I’ve came across for a modern C-drama. Also good call in having a very solid supporting cast… this defo isn’t a genre that can be carried entirely by 1-2 leads for so many episodes… Totally enjoyed all the comedic moments. Think all military themed dramas should have comedic/lighter moments to balance things out and also reflect a more realistic side of the army’s private lives/during leisure times…
LOVE that the reliance on CGI was minimal, the film sets+shooting locations were truly impressive… totally commendable. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m honestly not a fan of this genre but to those who are thinking of watching, just watch 1 episode…. It’s super engaging and fast paced right from the get go… My eyes were like completely glued to the screen. I would have given it a 10 (and I don’t have many 10s), but there were some overly exaggerated and unrealistic moments in the first 15 eps (I literally went 😳 and I nearly rolled my eyes) which was weird given the whole drama was actually very realistic albeit dramatic…. So I’m giving it a 9.5!
Edit: Special mention wrt the last 5 eps… many areas of improvement (and yes, some CCP propaganda here as well 😒) but worthy attempt. Esp notable wrt ‘internationalising’ things whilst keeping it real and current…. I’ve never watched a large scale C-drama which considers a worldwide audience.
idk if you saw ryohei mentioned in an interview that he might be/thinks he is bisexual !
No I did not! Really?? I was really quite shocked when the movie started playing… coz his demeanour was really exactly like a gay fashion editor… I’ve never met one but he does remind me of a gay hairstylist I know of. Interesting…
They look sooooo good together…. Gosh… the casting of the 2 leads offers the perfect contrast and balance. And the chemistry is just so…. Wow… so realistic esp how Suzuki Ryohei has such a masculine physique and face… yet his demeanour was spot on, completely taken by surprise. I had to Google the both of them to check if they were gay in real life.
Lol. I want to laugh at them too…. Noooo…. Can’t believe I really fell for their evil scheduling trap… I told myself I was going to wait until it finished airing. Sighs. Epic fail…
WJG = most 拖泥带水 character ever that I’ve came across. 🤦🏻♀️ wot MX said to him in Ep 37 is totally spot on….
Am glad that they added 2 extra episodes to the novel…. The ending of the novel was just too…….. 😒 totally lacks closure and was super abrupt not to mention unreasonably depressing… although the 2 episodes were slightly rushed and there are gaps here and there but it made so much more sense and provided closure to all the characters esp the antagonists….
Think this should have been modern Chinese literature material….. not even kidding.,,, they should make students take notes and learn lessons….
Love the female self-love… the very steady unwavering self-love… that is probably a lesson which no other drama has replicated…. I want to be Wei Ying Luo too! 🤭
There are so many other life lessons worth learning albeit all the drama….
That's been my favourite thing about this drama is the relationship between the 2 brothers - Everything else has…
Right.. I always scale back my expectations for modern C-dramas. I kinda enjoy this one…. I’m actually more interested in the business theme… curious to see if that has any depth… defo going to wait until it completes airing, too many things could go wrong with 38 episodes.
A friend of mine said the same that his projects r getting shelved a lot. Do you know the reason why?
Haha. I get the many episodes concern… I don’t have that many too, handful… less than 10. Maybe around 5-6 which I truly believe really require that many episodes…. 🤔 I still think K- dramas have the perfect average ‘formula’… 16 hours… which makes up to about 32 episodes for C-drama.
They even modelled the set to look like the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre in Jordan! 😳😯

Lol, I would have totally waited seriously…. I need to control my itchy hands after tomorrow. There are still two more breaks/gaps. 😒
