Am glad that they added 2 extra episodes to the novelā¦. The ending of the novel was just tooā¦ā¦.. š totally lacks closure and was super abrupt not to mention unreasonably depressingā¦ although the 2 episodes were slightly rushed and there are gaps here and there but it made so much more sense and provided closure to all the characters esp the antagonistsā¦.
Think this should have been modern Chinese literature materialā¦.. not even kidding.,,, they should make students take notes and learn lessonsā¦.
Love the female self-loveā¦ the very steady unwavering self-loveā¦ that is probably a lesson which no other drama has replicatedā¦. I want to be Wei Ying Luo too! š¤

Right.. I always scale back my expectations for modern C-dramas. I kinda enjoy this oneā¦. Iām actually more interested in the business themeā¦ curious to see if that has any depthā¦ defo going to wait until it completes airing, too many things could go wrong with 38 episodes.

Haha. I get the many episodes concernā¦ I donāt have that many too, handfulā¦ less than 10. Maybe around 5-6 which I truly believe really require that many episodesā¦. š¤ I still think K- dramas have the perfect average āformulaāā¦ 16 hoursā¦ which makes up to about 32 episodes for C-drama.

Haha, itās quite cute and realistic actually. Even the 2nd brother also cares for him, but more of spoiling him which I donāt think is healthyā¦ I like everything so far on the MDL relativity of about 8.5ā¦ will have to see how it develops. 38 episodes are kinda long,

Lol, yea, I can like an actor or actress but a bad drama and/or a bad plot is just downright difficult to acceptā¦ lol. I will attempt but probably also need to drop when itās required. And to be really fairā¦. A lot of C-dramas develop oddly because itās so lengthy.

Yea, even on MDLā¦ I noticed some of the comments regarding age etc is soā¦. Uhā¦. Explicit, extreme and biased, it really surprises me. But I didnāt notice any of them in The Long Ballad, so the production team succeeded in avoiding skinshipā¦ but for some C-dramas itās seriously superbly crazy.

Lol, my standards are too low when it comes to this but I get wot you meanā¦ I personally donāt have any baby voiced female friends for exampleā¦ yes. I would think that Iām usually not exposed to themā¦ I watch a wide variety and weird genres as well, but there are a few genres I avoid, namely, youth, war, comedyā¦.. I personally think itās a combination of those 2 factors we talked about and also itās a specific Mainland thing. For example I donāt think they would have avoided skinship to that extent if it was a 30 yr old dude and a 38 yr old lady. Itās never an issue discussed in Korean dramasā¦. But it becomes sucha big deal in C-dramas. Yea, like you rightly mentioned, itās also a generational thing on top of a culture thing.
