Yea. I kinda….. I don’t know, I mean it was a good plot but sucha big scheme based on like a misunderstanding…. I mean he kinda got a very small portion of it right, they are related though the relationship is very far off for a father….. I’m pretty sure he’d still do something to Jiang He and ruin his life….. but the domino effect of that is so much smaller…..

I feel kinda….. dumb (I’m sure LZS feels dumb too, and he probably wants to laugh) after watching it in that sense coz it’s kinda hard to relate to. Maybe coz of how illogical it is for our times now versus them whereby they have no means of communication, internet or technology.

This is so messed up because unlike Penthouse (and most dramatic makjangs), this is actually partially plausible…. Shitz. Super scary.

It’s not the kiddy-ness in China… it’s more of a certain stereotype… youthfulness and their version of “a female”…. Or even a “male”. So more than sounding like a kid…. Youthfulness and never-aging is the goal of life… amongst other things.

There are somethings that just will never change I,e they’ve never recognised my friend’s fashion business… so wrt career they have been kinda strict even after all those years. There is no serious trauma, but she did tell me something last year which I couldn’t fully understand then but I understand now (hence why I said she is a ‘ Su Mo’), she told me ever since the whole fashion thingy… she never trusted the father which she has the utmost respect for…. She said she learnt a very hard lesson in life whereby she will never trust him….

Yes! Only once. But it’s more related to the backstory… lol, ok. In this sense personally I was quite neutral… so I kinda understood both sides of the story coz… she isn’t the youthful, kiddy looking kinda actress. She will never be, and she never was to begin with even when she started her career when she was 20. It is just her natural physical appearance. BUT I have to say… her acting capabilities are…. I don’t know, I personally felt Vengo outshined her in this series. And the range of her emotions expressed are limited. In this sense, I was a tad disappointed.

I followed all of it except the latest one. 😏😏😏 she IS the Shirley Yang and hence why I was so excited before the airing of this drama… BUT… for the character in this drama…. Lol, she might not be the best cast. Lotsa haters if you look at the comments way below. Do give it a chance, think it’s worth a watch.

Eh wait, just want to clarify that I agree on all the examples you have provided, but I also realised to govern a 1.4 billion population is only wot most people can imagine but have no real idea wot it really entails. But yes, wot you’ve said so far is true,… but to be very fair is also reserved for a developed cluster of humans developing/moving forward at a similar progress.

My friend….. did well. The grudge was a lot stronger when we were younger…. Haha, yea, she used to disappear in the first year coz she literally would be in a different university on various days. And we’ve spoken about it, there are basically no regrets on giving up on the fashion design undergrad. BUT she is more like a Su Mo. So finally she started her own fashion business (with her own money earned from corporate)… in 2018… unfortunately it was CoVid… so she made the painful decision to close it last year…. and continue with her corporate job. Would say…. It is the path….. half-taken. For a best friend like me, I.e kinda the ‘outsider’….. yea, it was a true crossroad. She is both analytical and artistic..,. And even if I gave it a numerical score, she is really a half and half in terms of talent in both, which is kinda rare. I still think she shouldn’t have closed her business, which is wot I told her last yr but….. sighs…. Like we talked about. In life there is no guarantee I.e there are so many unforeseen circumstances…. She was adamant.

LOL. I feel the 20s is a double edged sword. The plot is only realistic coz she is 27. Sorry but I would have been dissing the FL as REALLY dumb if she was like 35. It would have been majorly childish and ignorant. Haha!! So you also have an opinion on ZYQ playing a 27 yr old. 🤣🤣🤣 honestly I’m neutral, though in this drama’s case I understand. ZYQ isn’t old looking but naturally she does look very matured though… she’s kinda the Gong Li and sensual type. So totally wrong casting.

Ah ok, I’d ask you again once it finishes airing. I’m not a fan of anyone there. Neutral. Don’t hate/dislike anyone either. I’m just in for a good production and screenwriting.

Ah yea, my best friend gave up her fashion design undergrad to pursue Mathematics with me…. And that was when I met her…. When she was ‘rebelling’ against her father specifically… now that we are both older…. We kinda both realised “ah…. Right, that’s why he did that”…. Haha, it’s not that… it’s more of Zhang Yu Qi playing a 27-year old, 9 out of 10 times in C-drama world…. There is a BIGGGGGG issue when an actress plays someone who is much younger than her real age. It becomes amplified when it’s against a younger ML. So for this case it is already considered cordial, lol. To be fair, I also think for some reason the C-dramaland’s makeup, hair and wardrobe doesn’t do any of it justice….. neither does the lighting nor colour gradient…. So either the viewers are totally independent from K-dramaland… which could be partially possible….. or yes, it’s probably because of the factors I mentioned above coz these issues aren’t much of an issue in K-dramas. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ and also just visually, it somehow isn’t as apparent in K-dramas. Over here actually I didn’t think it was as bad as wot a lot of the MDL members mentioned though…. I mean…. Yeaaaaa ok… if you really analyse her on-screen.

Haha, totally agree. Honestly it is truly only from these couple of years that I really understood the whole meaning behind books. So I realised actually selected TV/movie stuff are like selected books. I wonder why my parents never talked to me about this when I was younger, everyone only talked about the importance of reading. Lol. But they never talked about wot to read…. (Well at least they never did to me, maybe they expected it to be common sense…. My senses aren’t that common I spse… 🤣)

Hurm, but to be fair… I think a lot of the progression is also railroaded by women themselves. This is also something I’ve came to realise recently… just coz of the new-age concept of ‘ 媽寶 ’ in Mainland and also just talking in real depth about the Philippino culture to a native female…. On why men and women are how they are in Philippines, causing so many longstanding societal issues. It almost is kinda embedded into their DNA.

So yessss! I totally respect her! My life experiences are completely different from her. I never had someone who is my childhood sweetheart who I was obsessed for decades… even going to the extent of not having a bf…., I mean, no… I never had that kind of dedication, so yes, I respect it because to me it is akin to having an ambition of being a CEO.

Yeap, everyone has their freedom to do or say anything. But only the people who are bounded and grounded by responsibilities have the right to decide and equally should bear most of the consequences…. WHICH is exactly wot ML told YiTing in words and also actions in the half-drunken stupor. He told her, “who I think is worthy only counts when I say it counts…. Not decided by someone else”…

Just thinking about it from a logical (and equally realistic) standpoint.. woteva that forms a wedge… be it a person or an object or a subject… is not the wedge’s fault, at the end of the day it is down to the two people in a relationship. Unless the wedge has really crossed the line, like murdering someone, causing bankruptcy, arson.. etc. that’s a different story.

In this case, Su Mo never came clean to ML even after multiple threats from LiTing. Which I do question why. I mean I have an ego too, and I don’t really want to portray a ‘gf who whines about everything’ BUT… she has done it multiple times, and if I had half a brain…. I would have recorded a few incidents and showed the ML to tell him to deal with it or I’m saying goodbye to you. For the ML, yes, interests esp money and power is all so tempting to everyone in general…. But the lack of awareness is just epic fail. Esp given how your gf has already logically and factually presented all the issues…..

So the big question then becomes…. Isn’t it easier to blame a 3rd party other than the 2 people who really matter….? Yea, I do think so. It ‘s always easier to paint someone else as the villain… as long as it isn’t myself, the person I chose or people I’m close to.

Btw, don’t get me wrong. I don’t like YiTing too. lol. And if I have to work with her I probably need to strangle myself. However, in many ways…. I’m probably in-line with Su Mo. As much as I don’t like it that someone has threatened me for no apparent reason aside from jealousy and it’s annoying…. If I’m serious about ML, there will be soooooo many more of her or even worse than her that I need to deal with in the future…. I mean, if I have doubts in dealing with it, just break up seriously…

Someone who is in a committed relationship IS single by legal definitions because he/she isn’t married and that’s the difference between ‘that piece of paper’ which everyone talks about. Cheating is wrong… but it only applies to the person who is in a committed relationship… for the other party regardless of male or female is just pure dumb.

So I actually know of a lot of females who are very successful or come from wealthy families that married guys who have a huge gap. I’m dead serious. I personally know of 2 stay-at-home dads. And 1 dude who married up and the kids have their mother’s last name, which I thought was quite bizarre initially. So I kind of also only half agree on the patriarchal society thing… it still is but yet it truly is no longer the same. And it is currently at a transition phase globally (even with the company I work for) which will take a few decades.

Yes, bingo. You’ve pointed out a key point, but it’s like wot I said… the person’s confidence, assertiveness and optimism will really get constantly tested over a couple of yrs…. And not many people are able to withstand it honestly… coz to begin with both of you need to be really compatible, and there needs to be trust… these things will never happen overnight. Both the FL and ML will need to be comfortable being apart..

Ok, got it, I won’t. Don’t think I’d ever be able to overcome the trauma. LOL! Sorry but Thai culture is just too over the moon for me. I always only thought Japan has a very peculiar culture…. But I realised Thailand has it as well, but it is well masked behind the hospitality and relaxed environment. I still love the tourist aspects of both countries though. And the rich culture… always at awe.

I wouldn’t say she is ‘willing to adapt’, I think she is open to considering (which is a wise decision)….. I have to admit that for a 27 yr old, she is definitely very aware…. She is observant and conscious of things, perceptive to her friend’s advice…. So so important. I think although he is older, he isn’t as aware of many things… and is less….. open. So his awareness is at a fail-level. lol, he gets an ‘F’ score for that from me.

I actually thought it was half funny and half realistic when he said that about the whole scandal with YiTing…. I would have scoffed if I was Su Mo. I can understand his perspective… after all Su Mo as much as is his serious gf… in reality he has known YiTing nearly all his life… even feelings wise it’s like comparing your new gf to half-a-family member…. Not to mention all the interest tied up on the side.

Honestly I never knew prior that there are “fake” couples…. Lol, coz I never quite understood the rationale to be fake in that sense… if you think about it, it’s kinda dumb. But I’ve learnt…. LOTSA people actually build relationships based on just companionship………….. like wot the hell………. Why……. Not only that…. I realised everyone uses the word “love” so…… loosely and casually. Hurm… I think communication isn’t the only issue here. Maybe because I’ve met couples in real life with a big social gap and it’s actually more of wot Su Mo has done…. So for a viable long term solution…. The only real feasible one is the female (for males it’s a totally different ball game) has to be able to hold her own…. She will have to narrow the gap regardless of how much they communicate. And this is when a person’s confidence, security and optimism is reaaaaalllyyyy tested. I’m not even kidding. Coz if you think about it from the practical standpoint, how often can you really communicate about things like that, eventually it will tire out both the people. Communication is necessary but it can’t be always about having ‘the talk’… she has to do it subtly and indirectly like ‘hey I can only play golf once a week’ at the start… and she can join more often on her own after she is good at it… instead of him having to always measure and pre-empt wot she is uncomfortable with….. which is basically also wot she insinuated in his office “yes, I acknowledge your efforts, hence why I know you are tired, I’m also tired…”

I think…… censorship is crucial for a country like Mainland but there is always room for criticism and fine-tuning when it comes to details on implementation.

A real relationship isn’t only about spending time tog/living tog…. That actually is so fragile… not to mention liking someone based on those things will not develop into love. Also you used the term “left out”… I actually think over long periods of time a person could feel more lonely in a relationship/marriage vs being single if this continues…. No idea if you get wot I mean…. As time goes by there is no guarantee that a person would still be that attentive + romantic…. And without a genuine bond, I really believe that one could feel even more lonely although he/she is in a relationship.

haha, but you know things like communication, trust, understanding, respect etc are deep issues… which causes most breakups and divorces. Ah also something which I think Su Mo has been pining for…. Compatibility… I’m a strong advocate of that too. I think without compatibility things just build up over time and eventually the union will end (basically Mo Wei Qing’s relationship regardless of the 3rd party thing). So FL has told him twice that they are unsuitable/ incompatible… I think she has been kinda rash here, don’t think she understands herself nor the dude well enough to gauge their compatibility…

Seriously I was traumatised by that one Thai drama I watched and it was a BL, was just so bad, weird and messed up…. And I recalled my Thai friends from university mentioning, “but Thai people are crazy in general… to us a lot of things are normal… but to foreigners probably not. Maybe that’s why so many foreigners settle down in Thailand because the culture is so open….” seriously and I only know of Thai females… they are crazy. Lol. But at that time yea, I mean they were obviously very fun to be around and hangout with. See, this is where censorship and quality control would be useful. 🤣 totally wrong messages to be sending out to the world.
