He never had the intention to and everyone who grew up with him or is close friends with him knows except her… that obsessive girl is still causing havoc but it’s actually not the real reason that they break up, it was just a catalyst. Their issues are more fundamental, it’s things which most people including those people who aren’t jealous would also fight about/break up. You’d have to watch it to find out the details…. But they get back tog pretty quickly though…. So….. kinda pointless anyways.

But I was quite surprised when the ML revealed he actually had no intentions to get married considering he’s no player. This actually is a very realistic problem which occurs more frequently than not in real life esp current times (for both men and women actually)…. Which is hardly addressed in Asian dramas, esp Mainland ones because it is still viewed as uncommon and unconventional… it really did surprise me…

Lol, Su Mo is quite impressive esp in the latest eps… it’s the subtle bits that count… she surprised me coz…… she didn’t cry. I’m very impressed, because a 27-year old me would have cried when I’m on my own if I really fancied the dude. But she never did, Zhang Yu Qi portrayed it alright…. Believable, not perfect, but didn’t look unnatural….

Have you watched the latest episodes? I’m actually surprised that the issues between them are actually relatively realistic too…. I thought it was going to be superb cliched…. But it looks like they kinda patch things up very quickly…. That’s kinda…….. lame…. Lol. Their issues are more fundamental vs. just jealousy/misunderstanding…

Really?? I look at the still pictures and I think coz of the way the hair and make up is done (plus he looks naturally androgynous)…. I keep seeing Wen Ke Xing… everywhere… ok, looking forward to check out wot his character is like in this one…

I’m a gullible person that fell for the high budget, dreamlike shooting locations, half-tropey-half-probable plot…. And Super attractive leads with to die for chemistry….. 🤣🤣🤣 call me shallow! 😝

Will I be able to find another romance drama at the same level……? Esp given they got married in real life………. Sighs.

Gosh, looking at all the still pics I still can’t shake off the impression of Gong Jun = Wen Ke Xing… I’m doomed. I want to watch this and enjoy it. 😔

I think probably a lot of people do coz I bet all the viewers + fans are enamoured on how they ended up getting married in real life, I remembered when the news came out I was super shocked and also felt soooooo sweet, extremely happy for them… they also had a modern fairytale kinda relationship… it was like the drama without the whole North Korean bit…. Coz they actually didn’t meet via this drama…. They kinda “crash landed” in each others life over a few yrs…. Via ‘fate’ or more of chance….

Haha, it is very tropey. Yes, was the case with Ji Heng too! But poor Vengo Gao hasn’t been getting the best scripts since Eternal Love of Dream…. Only Miss S, that was so good. I didn’t watch the doctor one, that should have been a solid script… but somehow the ratings weren’t high. Probably too draggy as a drama.

I was thinking about that too. Like he was always portrayed as such a wise and intelligent character throughout the series…. The tweak from the novel whereby LZS was the only Grand Tutor is kinda illogical though, coz the Emperor ended up firing him, he has to be aware from the get go that LZS is bad news even Jiang He who was in jail knows it…. I feel some of the development and plot changes versus the novel since episode 30 is a little…. Off… it’s a mix of tropey and a little inconsistent for some of the characters….

Ep 23 is super duper funny. The new dude is hilarious… 🤣🤣🤣
I think this is a really enjoyable watch… like a 8-8.5 score... And the leads are really sweet and cute tog…. I mean it’s obvious that it isn’t a high budget TV series and the editing could be more fast paced, and tightly woven but I really enjoy the business and familial themes…

Vengo Gao is really very cute and comedic in this role… I actually think his acting has improved…. Probably because he is a lot more experienced now…

Yea, but it’s because of the novel. And if they changed that many things wouldn’t have worked because of her backstory on the university degree thing, living with extended fam etc. so if it was her actual age it wouldn’t make much sense, it would be so far from education/schooling age.

And also the male character in the drama and novel is probably only around 30-33 based on wot they’ve said about him… instead of VG’s real age of 40…

So it’s coz of the casting of both leads being a mismatch with the novel. 🤣 I actually didn’t think it was that bad though, don’t think she looks 40…. I just see her as quite compatible with Vengo Gao and didn’t think too much about her being 27….
