The car driving looking real on races but not that real in normal road is so true! π
π€£ I kept wondering, 'How come it's so different especially compared to being in actual RACE CARS!' I guess they had to choose what to use their budget on and I have to say, they chose wisely. Anyway, how are you finding the show?
This show is truly lovely. At first I checked it out cos the premise sounded okay but mostly for HXX (whose acting I totally love from HNG) but the story ended up charming me. At some point in ep 4 I thought I'd drop the show but then I figured I wasn't watching the show, just one person so I decided to genuinely watch the entire thing. And I loved it. It's such a simple yet exciting story and I'd wondered what drama they could squeeze out of a car racing story but not only did they have a story, it was organic. Never felt forced or ridiculous to me.
The car races looked real and exciting and I kept wondering if they had actual cars and racers in this locations. It was not a cheap looking thing at all. Infact it looked less real when they were supposed to be driving like regular civilians on the road π€£
I'm glad I watched this show. HXX's acting is still one of the best I've seen across all the Asian dramas I've watched. There's a realness to his characters that I enjoy. There were times I thought he was a better Zhang Chi than the original (who I felt was more quiet and more like LZD). Ep 23: the treadmill scene was sooo good from an acting perspective.
Manager Ye is a close second in favorite characters, he was so warm and caring that he was hard not to love. The entire team was sweet too. And I liked how they handled ZC's and Xiaohe's relationship.. I skipped some of it but it didn't feel inorganic at any moment for me. I just didn't need to watch it but I approved.
There were truly funny moments and warm moments and also sad ones that brought tears to my eyes. Side note: It's funny but what broke me down was when ZC did the sweeping thing for LZD with Ye by his side in ep 27. I don't know why, but something about that sacrifice was what finally had me crying π₯Ί.
For a show I almost dropped, it has turned into a 9/10 for me. It wasn't perfect and HNG still has my heart but they told they story they wanted to tell, dropped me off at a place where I feel satisfied and happy I got to inhabit their world and get to know them for a little while and that is something no show has done for me in a while.
So thanks to all who worked on this, they should be proud. I watched this exclusively for 3weeks and all I have is respect and β₯οΈ. Questions might come later but for now, I'm basking in the π₯°.
Looking forward to HXX's next project Tientsin Mystic.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who encouraged me to keep watching this show. I'm in ep 33 now. LLH's acting in ep 32 (the confrontation with Gudao) was just a treat to watch. The incredulity, shock, sadness, betrayal... all of it was so clearly conveyed and well acted. Didn't feel forced or cringey to me. I replayed that scene so many times and it was the first time I ever thought LLH looked beautiful. His pain was lovely to witness (I said what I said π€).
Then after the confrontation, a headless black-robed thingy rigidly flies away π€£π€£ and I'm thrown back to what's so jarring about this genre. No complaints though. The show has really grown on me and I'm enjoying it and will be sad to see it end.
Like many others, it's from episode one for me too, and it grows on me even more after DFS appears. Granted, after…
Hi π. Thanks to the lovely people that encouraged me to keep watching, I continued and I'm in ep 31 now. I did fast forward alot in the earlier episodes but from about ep 24 I've watched without skipping or ff-ing and maybe when I'm done, I'll go back for a more detailed watch.
I really like FDB. Though I've noticed he's called Fang Xiaobao sometimes, please do you know why?
honestly it depends on the person. when i first watched it i maybe watched up to episode 13? i dropped/ put it…
Yeah, I was thinking of doing that... Dropping for a while then come back with a fresh mindset. Will first try to reach ep10 tho if I can. Thanks π.
Its from the start for most of us. Some find its from ep 6-7 when dfs joins the trio. Try it until at least 10eps…
Thanks for replying π. I started from ep1, I meant I'd just started ep 5 to finish the case from ep 4. I stopped there before another case would begin to ask if it would get better later. I'm sort of skimming episodes now to get a feel for the whole show.
Please what episode would you say this show gets gripping? I just started ep 5 and I've already started fast forwarding plus the cases haven't really captured my interest. I did the 4ep test and I'm about to drop but there are so many positive comments that I want to love this too. Help!

Please does anyone know if the bridge really goes that close to the falls?
I watched a documentary but it didn't go indepth about the placement of bridges for people.

Going back for one more sad-scene rewatch π.
Thanks for explaining. I was wondering why that happens.
Sorry, but what is Xiao Nap? Was that a typo or does it just mean the same as Xiaobao?
