I really really dislike the trope of 'we were both knowingly intimate, fully understanding of the possible pros and cons of our choice but now that there is a baby, I'll be altruistic and save you any responsibility from it because... I'm a good person??'
It's illogical and except the father is a danger to the child, I don't subscribe to hiding the kid from him. If you want to have the child, Tell him. If he takes responsibility then that's good, people have to take responsibility for their actions everyday so why shouldn't he? And if he doesn't, nothing is lost, she still was raising the kid herself anyway so her choice just seemed selfish and ridiculous.
And who was even helped with her decision?? It's not like they had to get married and if he tried to force it and she really didn't want to then she could say no! Being a single mum didn't kill her as we all saw. And the kid was always going to grow up and want to know their dad so you were setting him up for a lifetime of guilt and a missed chance no matter what especially knowing his personality. And what would you tell the kid when she's grown and asks why she didn't have her dad, 'oh, he doesn't know anything about you because I didn't want to stress him with the responsibility of raising and loving you so here we are, aren't I great?'. It's far different from 'he knows and didn't want to be a part.' One painful but sensible, the other senseless and still painful.
I'm sorry for the rant but I just couldn't see the logic to Mizuki's thinking and it just kept irritating me.
On another note, I loved the kid actress Umi, she's amazing and I wish her the very best.
It is common that people rated low on MDL because of no sub or bad sub.
Yea, that's why I asked. I know sometimes people rate low when the subs are bad but I don't really understand why because it's not an actual reflection of the story, just laziness from the subbing unit or no one has picked it up yet. Are you watching it?
The rating is low because only 20 people have rated. I've started watching this and it's pretty good. Many people…
I wanted to check it out as it's short and I just wanted to know if the problem was the subs cos I can wait till there are better ones but if the story isn't good then that's another issue.. Good to hear it's going well
Shutup! You're clearly a fcked up Zionist. Reporting on entertainment news on an entertainment website is "fanning…
You know, this is exactly what goes through my mind whenever I see this argument flare up anywhere. What did Hamas think would happen when they planned that attack? What was the desired outcome? I know people say it stems from the decades of Israeli provocation (I personally believe they provoke each other equally but one is stronger and so hits harder) but what would that siege achieve in the long run or even the short run? It couldn't have been Israel giving in to their demands because their history alone shows that it was nigh impossible so what in the world was it? Did they achieve it? Are they satisfied with what they achieved? And if they didn't achieve it, why prolong it? why not just release the hostages and spare your people. Infact, what, if anything, have they truly achieved with all that? If Israel had been like a barely leashed tiger what would the scent of blood do but trigger all-out carnage. Another thing that floors me is that why would you start a fight with a much much stronger country that has an iron dome without having sufficient protection or something. Bombs scarcely land in Israel so if you both throw 30bombs at each other, maybe 2 of yours land in their country but all 30 of theirs land in yours. It's just illogical and completely detrimental to your people. Hezbollah and Hamas keep launching bombs but it barely hits. Makes me wonder, if those bombs had hit, would people feel it were more fair.
Maybe itโs because Zou Mian is not the main villain as seen in the last extra bit.
I understand that but this season built him up from the very first case. Everything led back to this really powerful shadowy figure at the back of all the messy things that had gone on for years but then when we get to his case, so much of it was just lackluster and that trial in front of the people with the drama setup and the fighting officers and all of it was just unsatisfactory.
Not a bad drama at all but the treatment of the last case with the "big bad" could have been so much better. Brought the whole thing down for me in a disappointing way.
Hoping 2025 is a better drama year than 2024 ๐.
I really like that Zhang Qi Niang character, she was very interesting to me with her clear cruelty and hinted-at history.. I really felt curious to know her clearly. What exactly had happened to make her the person we saw? How was she raised? how did she get to such an important position? What did she give up to do so? Was she always cruel or was she made cruel? I actually was intrigued. And the actress that plays her is amazing! Loving the show so far.
Hellooo! Nice to see u here. The plots are pretty interesting so far๐คฉ. The married couple is so loving and…
Hellooo to you too! Yes, I'm here ๐. I started it a few days ago. I'm watching it slowly but I'm really really liking it so far. I'm liking the cast alot especially the Kaifeng chief Gu Zhen ๐ and it was a nice surprise to see a certain actor from Hikaru no go that I haven't seen in anything else since๐ฒ. I really loved the end credit show and tell in ep 2&3, the music is sooo pretty and the work that went into it deserves some respect at least. Did you like it? And who is Judge Dee? I don't think I've seen him yet.
Haven't gone deep yet but I just had to come and say that the attention to detail displayed in the worldbuilding and the way it's shown during the ending credits in ep2 coupled with that beautiful song was so lovely to watch. Well-done to the creators of this ๐๐๐
Yay tooo! Me also starting Riverside code this weekend after Lion. I need to hear all the happy roars b4 Christmas…
Lucky you! That must have been a treat. I watched how they worked to bring the set to life on YouTube. Have you seen it? It made me start the show but I've only finished ep 1 for now, will give it the 4ep test. I'm glad you're enjoying it though.

Yay us! I'm glad to hear you're still enjoying it. I absolutely love the family trope and it's so rarely done like this in dramaland. I also like the idea of bringing a painting to life and telling the story behind it even if it's complete fiction. It's still very imaginative. So, I'll be watching both for sure and hoping it turns out great.
It's so cool to hear this especially from someone who doesn't listen to drama OSTs in general. I'm the type to…
You're a sweetheart, I can tell. I'll give the drama a go and I'll try to be open to it. I already like many elements so this might just be the one. I'll already know the kid will become dark or something but I'll keep my eye out for all the actors now. Thanks for encouraging me! I really really hope to like it too. Maybe I'll let you know how it goes.
Also, where do you plan to read the analyses for understanding the episodes?

Top favorites are Return after a long dream, Plants do not grieve, Heaven and earth are unrivalled, Do not yearn and Yuanzhou's youth. At this point, I listen to them everyday and I love the lyrics to return and Yuanzhou's youth. Unintentional big dream and Spring breeze would be the next, she sounds so soft and beautiful. From blood of youth, I loved 'Snowy Moon', immediately I heard it, it stuck and after asking around I got a link to the OST and found it and still listen to it from time to time but even then I didn't listen to it everyday like I do Fang's OST.
I've never been into vampire, demons, fairies and stuff. No real reason too, I just could never get into it and now I don't even bother trying. I also don't have the best experience with dramas set in magical China, I think I've been interested in and watched just two and didn't love any.
Found family, thriller, friendship, mystery are some of my favorite genres but there has to be that special something that brings it all home. Just having the right genre doesn't always mean I'll enjoy the work or even bother watching it.
I have looked into Fangs, I saw half of the first episode and then I watched the episode summary specials on IQIYI and I have to admit the cinematography looks amazingly polished compared to anything I've seen so far and the costumes actually made me stop and stare sometimes especially the leading men's and the fighter girl ๐คฉ but I've also heard the criticisms and I don't want to hate the music if I turn out to not like the show, do you understand?
From the specials I also did notice that the main lead guy's eyes are beautifully expressive, he seems to have a way of speaking with them that's conveys emotions clearly, it's truly impressive. Have you seen the show's short summary specials? They aren't very detailed but they do give a good enough glimpse. https://youtu.be/NxtdcI5MmhM?si=2vHMwKn_2GVKhUbp The scene in the beginning is sooo pretty and their outfits are lovely, including the girl asking the questions, she's beautiful. Then at 22:30, is an example of the eye thing which I really like.
I have actually considered giving the show a 9 based on the good things I saw and the music but I felt it'd be unfair to the other shows I've scored high after fully watching. What do you think?
