I personally feel they're trying to do a bit too many things here, mixing reality fantasy wuxia and mystery..Given…
That's what I said

I feel the same way. I think it's a combination of the scriptwriter not doing good enough and the director not…
It's not the fight scenes that are the issue.

He looks okay during promo live.. and handsome too..
That's why I suspect he was underweight during filming

True. The martial arts director is the only one earning his keep and CY of course XD

Yeah, agree. my first thought seeing him was 'poor guy needs to eat more.' Hope he is okay in real life.
Yeah. A friend said he looks like a skull and I can sort of see that from the side profile😅

Many Cdramas do have smart and capable female characters though
Yes but few are like Shi Rong. They try to make the FL cute, or indecisive, or not good at martial arts so she needs ML to save her all the time. Shi Rong is the kind of woman who can live her own life and be respected without having a husband whose the head of a powerful sect. That kind of female character is rare nowadays.

It's not just the ML and his intense feelings/crying. Certain scenes or characters behave in a way that doesn't make sense. I'm not sure which ep you're at but the plot is messy. It alternates between long expository scenes and then abruptly transitions to another, to the point some viewers wonder how a character got from point A to B.

Although the fight scene in Ep.27 was great, the relationship between LCZ and his wife is what drew my attention. There's a lot of trust and love between them, understanding each other to the point where they don't need to explain things to each other. One look and they know. That's a solid marriage. Zhao Shi Rong is respected for her abilities and in her own right as a martial artist, not just because she's the chief's wife. Wish Cdramas had more smart and capable female characters like her.

Okay let me just say this.. This drama is great but I just can't connect with it at all even with all the emotions…
I feel the same way. I think it's a combination of the scriptwriter not doing good enough and the director not framing scenes properly.

I have to say though that Chen Zhou has more chemistry with his wife than XQ has with TF 🤷‍♀️
Yeah. The second romance feels forced.

The fact that even LCZ thinks the murder happened from within QS‘s household just keeps cementing the fact that…

For once I thought Yiren wanted to have a brotherly talk with Qiushui. Oh, he never fails to disappoint me!
Looks like a severe case of jealousy
