Broadcasting period is still ongoing. Views have decreased a lot so heat might not be that high rn. The trend for tff is 30-35 million views per ep on yunhe. The drama market condition is very bad in China rn. Most dramas are suffering to even get 30 million views per ep & very few got over 40-50 million views per ep this year so far

Tbh i also only watch main couple moments mostly on rewatch so i get you haha

But she said she don't like slow nature & repeated flashbacks whereas L&P has flashback for 17-18 eps without going back & forth in past & present so i think she might like it. I remember forgetting that i was watching the flashback until they went to present again 🤣

This isn't accurate. TFF is definitely the first modern romance hit cdrama of this year but overall it isn't the only drama which is considered hit in china. Under the skin s2, Drifting away, Guardians of the dafeng & Flourished Peony are all ranked higher in terms of avg views per ep

I haven't watched any modern cdramas of this year yet but out of all 3 currently airing, this one interest me the most

I am not sure. Like i heard transmigration stories & time traveling plot is also banned. The only way a drama can pass censorship is if they show character entering the game (like in dafeng) or character seeing a dream (LGIEF). This is because there was a case where two people unlive themselves & reason was to transmigrate to another world (this was written in their suicide note) so yeah they are more strict with these stories being shown to large amount of people and the impact it can have on masses. However, i don't know if anime or kdramas etc are also censored in china or this is just the case with chinese medium because anime is filled with isekai plots & kdramas have many time travel stories etc

I heard from some netizens that they relate to XQA remembering only half of the poems because in china, they learn poems in school but don't remember them fully later on. In the drama, XQA has also learned these poems in his school but after coming to dafeng, he is using that knowledge to his advantage by plagiarizing these poems which are composed by famous authors of his previous world
Fun Fact: In ep 5 when he is telling poems to Xu Xinnian, he discard this poem "under the moonlight, baby i love you" because it sounds inappropriate for the era he is in. However this is also a joke for Dylan wang fans because this is lyrics of his famous song "Seaside tango" in real world

Because they think audience is too stupid & will be influenced if a popular actor plays the role of villain/anti hero. Look at how japan is able to tell so many amazing stories with all sorts of genre through their anime. It's sad how much cdramas are limited in their storytelling. It's not like China don't have complex characters. If you have read chinese novels, you will know how many complex stories are written in China but sadly they cannot be made into dramas

This is one of my dream scripts for him. But i heard in china, they don't want to show villain in good light so we rarely see anti hero/villain type characters especially in realistic setting

Romance is more in background and side plot but it's cute & some scenes are really beautiful. The drama is not just about case solving but more about exploring the world of dafeng, career advancement, family bond, friendship, camaraderie, world building, mystery, comedy with little bit of romance in mixture. It's a family drama with many other genres

Yeah that is very superficial thinking like there are so many stories out there which doesn't revolve around romace but still successful among both men & women

He will be fine. XQA's father said "I brought that man back as equivalent exchange" to XQA at the end & we see lord wei body returning to bureau in the next shot. Earlier in the ep, XQA gave a book to bureau guy about extracting souls (this is likely the method which which will be used to revive lord wei). Question is how XQA knows the method? It is implied that his father as witcher guy likely told him the method to revive lord wei and as equivalent exchange, XQA was willing to give up dafeng fortune. But his father at the end said he did this for him & likely want his son to team up against senior (old white dude who knows everything in dafeng) so that's why he helped xqa to maybe win his trust. Most of last ep is a setup for s2 so i recommend watching post credit scene if you haven't. They talked about how we will get fighting witcher sect arc and Lord wei death stuff in next part and i thought this was a meta scene to tell viewers that they will return instead of XQA actually going back to his world so yeah i understand if you felt disappointed but there is a high chance we will get more of this story considering how much they setup things for s2 at the end

I have noticed that mostly these haters are ignorant & not much informed about all the data . They just hate whd & wanted this to fail badly to boost their fav success but don't have anything to support their claim. I am not a blind fan so if something fails, i will accept it but in dafeng case tencent itself called it explosive drama so idk what more they need. Platform is happy with the performance
