Nothing yet but recently they asked Dylan wang about s2 on an award show and he laughed & pointed towards the bosses sitting beside him. It's not confirmed yet but they know everyone wants s2 and always asking about it

I shared this with someone on x so pasting my thoughts here:
I used to think why most other actors who are less popular than him get way more likes and engagement on x and didi gets more hate but now i understand. A lot of these actresses fans don't engage with anything didi related because they hate him and hype other actors more. Those actors don't have their solo fans as much as didi so this hype is mostly temporary and later gone when the drama with their actress is over. That's why didi popularity is so consistent and has longitivity because many support him just because of him and not because of other actresses or cp. We are more isolated as a fandom on x because of this but also long term popularity instead of fake temporary hype.
Some other fandoms don't like how popular he is so they are always painting his fans as the most evil who hates actresses when that is far from the truth. Every fandom is equally toxic in Chinese drama industry and few bad apples don't represent the whole fandom.

Done with the drama & overall I am satisfied with them escaping. Good romance, complex villain, amazing fights & all side characters were likable. Deleted scenes helped in giving closure and sadly we couldn't see their chemistry fully in drama but it was still really good

Douban is popular for being harsh. 7 is considered a great rating for the most dramas. If a drama is adapted from popular ip, has popular actors & there is some controversy around the drama then it attract antis and haters who downvote it because of their biasness. Mostly underrated shows which are not that popular are rated highest & some popular dramas manage to get good ratings if actor is not hated by the platform and has water armies to protect their dramas

Omg i am glad you give it a chance. Avenue x has only watched 5 episodes and didn't give this a fair chance because she is biased. Many who were unsure initially continued to watch it and ended up loving it

Not similar but if you love enemy to lovers trope then try lighter and princess

I don't think they are always fair in their criticism but i do agree that not every criticism is hate and valid criticism help actors improve their work so it should be taken as positive thing

My prediction is around 45-50 million but let's see how it goes because many thought Flourished peony will reach around 45-50 million but it couldn't due to spring Festival and mango locking the ep (shorter period) so it managed to reach 40 million views (big achievement considering the platform)

I see some criticizing the FL for her acting but didn't see much hate for bjt. Tbh i haven't started this drama yet so i am avoiding all the discussions about it on weibo but I'll watch it soon and see how it's doing

6.7 is a good rating according to douban standard. Most dramas that are considered very good are rated around 7 on that site and anything around 6.5-7 range is good to decent on that site. But douban is not a criteria to say that drama isn't liked because only few thousand people have given their ratings on that site but Hidden love is watched by millions of people in china and not everyone uses that site. Most big hit dramas reach 1 - 2 billion effective playback volume while it's airing. This has just started so trend can be better during weekends. What's important is for this drama to reach 40+ million views per ep for it to be considered hit in china by industry standard. For more context, youku platform is struggling recently with views and none of the dramas has even reached 30 million views per ep but First frost started good. The trend is looking like 35+ million if it maintains the quality and keep audience engage. Just needs to attract little bit more audience to reach that 40 million per ep milestone

Tbh most people like to know how a drama is doing in China because that's what matters the most for the industry and the actors. Cdrama industry don't care how much successful and popular a drama is internationally if it isn't successful in China (audience of millions). So far this drama is doing decent to good in china and it's still too early to criticize. I am gonna start this soon but i do think we shouldn't judge a drama based on what C-ents think and form our opinion

I am enjoying this drama but i have one minor complain that is not enough focus on all the women who are suffering under this cruel system. I get bu yinlou is not savior for everyone and she can barely save herself but it irritates me how both of these girls are exceptions who are treated better because they have their lovers to protect them but everyone else will continue to suffer. Maybe the drama isn't about changing the system but to show how helpless women of those times are and how they can never get the freedom but as I said we only see bu yinlou focus who is actually favored and not much about others so I kinda wished there was more focus on this aspect other than romance

And then after this, we will have to wait longer for his next project 💔😔
