Yeah i got this message after finishing it. I think in the middle, i was kinda lost about what message they were trying to portray but they eventually returned to showing the suffering of women and how bu yinlou was restricted & had no freedom from the start

I think what works in Dafeng's favor is the organic growth of popularity instead of fake hype by buying social media hot searches and creating buzz through money. 30 million people are wearing the badges which can only be recieved if they have watched the show so we already have a dedicated fanbase now & these dafeng's soldiers will do anything for s2 to succeed further. Certain dramas might have higher views but behind them, xinli spend billions for their marketing last year and they only got 100 million in return 😭
Some haters trying to say dafeng was the reason xinli lost money when gotd aired only 4 days of 2024 and the financial report of this drama will be part of 2025 (at the end of the year). Plus we had no marketing behind us and still top 2-3 drama of the year so far on yunhe chart. I will be surprised if dafeng didn't make any profit because as you said all bosses were happy & it looked like they realized whd's power to create money for them

Yeah it's weird how much FL casting is such a big discussion for this drama when the role is not even major. I don't want her to be part of this drama because her fans already spreading too much negativity towards him. Let's hope for the best

And the ip is not even big. It's an underrated novel without any cp and mostly relies on whd's popularity to carry it. Are people still debating about the casting?? Who is finalised as FL??

I really really hope this crew at least won't use Female actress for promotion if her screentime is not gonna be much. Dafeng crew used TXW everywhere for promotion with didi as cp which made her fans have higher expectation for romance storyline and later most were disappointed with how little screentime she was in the drama & tbh i get their anger. The team made us believe that her role will be more prominent. We don't need this type of fake cp promotion when there is going to be nothing in the drama. DD is enough to promote the drama

Hopefully. I heard xinli suffered loss last year due to spending too much on marketing of some dramas but result wasn't as good. As a result, they didn't even hire a single marketing company to promote dafeng and relied completely on wang hedi popularity to make it work. Thankfully, dafeng got so many ads all because of didi and they made money out of it. I just hope that they treat s2 a bit better because it has potential to be even more successful

And i think Xinli will prioritize shooting JOL S3 first and then Dafeng S2

They are trying to create hype for it & looking at all the reactions recently, i think we are getting S2 but maybe not anytime soon

Plus, his new movie coming soon so he might get more offers for movies and as a result we might see less of his dramas because movie shooting is longer & more tiring from what ik and it takes time to come out especially for us int viewers

Youku dramas are not even getting 30 million views per ep. The last hit drama was 3 years ago i think (not sure?). Rn the first frost is airing which might finally reach 40 million views per ep but that is a very big ip and expectations are higher. Because of lesser views, youku is thinking now to limit their dramas to only 12 eps that are each 1 hour long. So dramas that are currently being made or completed but have not aired yet (LTTN) should air quickly within this year before the change is implemented.

I have no clue about shares but ik DD fans on China are complaining about his agency because they didn't handle the dafeng matter well. There was no response or counterattack to all the black hotsearches and they claim his agency didn't protect didi and just using him

Tbh he is doing more of extra side stuff instead of too many dramas. NBA, variety shows, Fashion week, music, etc etc but he definitely looks weak to me and he needs longer rest

Youku need a big hit & Dylan has commercial value so i am sure it will do well but hopefully it won't get backslash & hate like dafeng got initially because it took time to come back from that through word of mouth but this is a short drama so we won't have much time to come back if a hate campaign is a lot

I don't think they realize how big this is for wang hedi. I am 100% sure majority of them will fail to carry a drama alone without CP. Funniest thing i saw recently is some girlies saying that dafeng got popular only because of TXW and i honestly laughed. Not to disrespect any actress (I love her) but some of these haters have become so delusional in their hate that they will take every credit away from him if they can. That's why i want Light to the night to be even more successful than GOTD. Ik it's a difficult task considering how Youku is suffering and no cp at all (dafeng has little bit & popular ip) but if this suceeds then this will make Dylan stand out above from the rest and haters won't have any excuses left

Hmm I hope what you are saying is true. I honestly don't get why they are delaying just announcing that s2 will happen. We can wait for it but at least confirm us that it's happening. But i think they also have to make JOL s3 so maybe we will get confirmation after that
