I agree with everything you wrote. Hill and Ter their storyline could have been told in 5 or 6 episodes, the constant back and forth between them was boring. The amount of times they tell each other they like each other, fallen for each other, kiss, hug, hold hands etc without doing anything about it was ridiculous. Like why did it take 12 episodes for them to finally get together. And even if Pond and Earth had more chemistry, more of a click I still would have wanted to see more of Johan and North (if we really only get 2 couples per season)

That was the same thing I was thinking. They ruined this series with the story of Hill and Ter, I’m sorry to say. Like we are on episode 13 and we are still getting flashbacks from them etc. A bit more then an hour episode and we still only got 35 min of JohanNorth and a few extra scenes for other characters. We only have 3 episodes left, if those go like ep 13 then we are going to get a very rushed Johan and North storyline. Why didn’t the director did it like We Are of Perfect 10 Liners. 4 couples could have easily fit 16 episodes, We are had I believe 5 couples, the same amount of episodes and the episodes were 10 minutes shorter.

Yeah I feel the same, like I said, my friendship would have been over. I personally wouldn’t give a rats ass anymore if your cover would have been blown if I stopped. Because I would be the one blowing your cover, If I was Style I would have gone straight to Fadel and told him everything. If my best friend is treating me like that, I don’t need enemies. But honestly I don’t like backstabbing, lying and manipulative people, and especially not if that is supposed to be my best friend.

Maybe it’s harsh but Kant did not for a minute think about what could/would have happened to Style if Fadel found out, if you have that little disregard for the friend or friendship, I can’t help you!

From the first episode I felt like Kant and Bison weren’t going to end of together, my thought was if Bison finds out about it, the relationship (of that even was it) was going to be over. Even if Kant started to have feelings for Bison, the whole thing started with lies and omissions. Bison is going to have such a hard time trusting Kant again (if ever). And I for one didn’t really feel like there were a lot of vulnerable moments between them. Sure they had fun, but I constantly wondered if that fun was just another tactic of Kant to get closer towards Bison.

For Style and Fadel it started out as Fadel being annoyed with Style and Style finding him intrigued. Sure Style did some questionable things trying to get close to Fadel (visiting the support grief group). But at some point they both start to lower their walls and be vulnerable with each other. Fadel talking about his parents, Style about his mother and how his dad took him coming out. They have a much more relatable and (somewhat) stable relationship, theirs I see actually ending happy.

But I also wouldn’t be suprised if Bison and Fadel moved on together to somewhere else.

For me I think it didn’t help that Kant went on a very manipulative and guilt tripping rant over how he would end up in jail when Style said he wanted to quit. I think it’s an impossible choice to make for Style choosing between the guy he is falling head over heels in love with or the friend. I think maybe Style had hoped it wouldn’t be true or that the guys had good reasons for it. Fadel had shown him slowly to be a decent guy.

My choice would have been bit easier. But I don’t like the fact that Kant knew who Fadel and Bison were when he asked Style to seduce Fadel. If I had found out my friend send me to seduce a hitmen who is very trigger happy, who I did start to fall in love with, I think my friendship would have been over. You do not send your friend into such a dangerous situation, it’s one thing for you to do it for some alternative reason. It’s a whole other reason to involve me. But that’s me now saying it, I’m not in the situation I do not have any idea how I really would have responded.

Agreed. I think Fadel would forgive Style a lot faster then Bison would Kant. Style didn’t know anything when he started pursuing Fadel, yeah he might have done it for the car (which I don’t think so), but he did not expect to fall head over heels in love with Fadel.

I stopped watching this series after episode 2, for some reason. I think at that time there were series airing that held my attention more.

The last day I have been binge watching this series until the latest episode. I was looking forward too this series after the trailer dropped. Currently the only reason I’m still watching is for JohanNorth.

I’m kind of tired of seeing Earth for the umpteenth time in a school BL. Somehow they constantly cast him as a kind of damsel in destress, clueless boy who seems to be in desperate need for a mature guy who will help with everything. Don’t get me wrong I do like Earth, I liked him in UWMA and in my only 12%. But that seem to have been two roles where he either plays a mature, serious guy, or he grows up to be a mature guy.

As for the characters. Hill and Ter have just way too many miscommunications throughout the series. Like how many times are they going to confess their feelings, hold hands, hug and kiss before one of them is actually going to ask some questions. The constant back and forth is doing my head in. North asked Ter at some point well are you two together. Ter’s response is well Hill didn’t say anything about that. Do you not have a mouth Ter? Can’t you ask the question, hey what are we? What are we waiting for? So it has taken up to 12 episodes back and forth going’s between them to then finally have the “will you be my boyfriend” question.

About the friendship between Hill and Ter I have much to say. Namely that Ter is not such a good friend to North, he is nagging, nosy, annoying and pushy. He finds his “ship” more important than his friend boundaries, privacy and feelings.

North has said multiple times that he isn’t comfortable telling something to Ter. But Ter does not stop asking and pushing to get the answers or information from North. When Johan texts North, Ter somehow tries to get a peak of said texts too. There are moments I feel like North is more in an interrogation which are let by Ter instead of having a conversation between friends. You especially could notice this difference when North was talking with Daotong, who lets North take his time, doesn’t push, doesn’t nag. Just lets North talk when he’s ready.

And Ter doesn’t stop asking, it’s during school time, when they are at work or when they are together in the dorm. Like step a big step back and give the boy some room to breath! He will tell you when he’s ready! Stop wirh the nagging, the snooping and mind you business! Sorry I just am so disappointed with their friendship, it’s one person trying to have a friendship and another person just is overly nosy, pushy and nagging.

Sadly the relationship between North and Johan have been put on the back burner throughout this series. The constant back and forth between Hill/Ter is making it that Johan and North can barely progress. Besides some moments that Johan picks North up from school to go to work, there are hardly any interactions between them. Thankfully North does get saved by Johan and that seems to be the starting point of them getting closer together. Honestly between the constant back and forth of HillTer, Johan and North feel like a breath of fresh air.

Sorry for the long review, I got irritated and frustrated a lot by Ter and North’s friendship.

This all the way!! Kant is a lousy friend, that’s the reason I don’t like him. He send his good friend blind to a guy, he knew was very dangerous.

Right?! Like girl you had your chance, you blew it. Don’t start sabotaging him and his love-life when he finally meets somebody who accepts him for who he is, who even has learned sign language to be able to communicate with him. But I think Zi Xiang will not do that, he’s made up his mind, he wants to stay in Taiwan with Shao Peng. Unless something very drastic is going to happen. I feel like it’s going to be one last desperate attempt to break them up.

Agreed, I did not care one bit for the GL couple and was very tempted to fast forward the scenes. I couldn’t stop thinking: these could have been scenes for the second couple.

I have no doubt that this was a plan orgastrated by the fiancé, the friend of Shao Peng and the cousin, to try and break up Shao Peng and Zi Xiang. It was clear the fiancé was waiting for Shao Peng to join them. And instead of Shao Peng leaving after the (ex) fiancé did her stupid little speech, he stormed to Zi Xiang grabbed him, walked away and got his explanation.

For me the whole GL couple was not needed which took away scenes that could have spend on the second BL couple.

No he did not, Style didn’t do anything, he just helped his shitty friend and asked for a consolation prize, the car. It’s not like people are saying “he only did it for the car”, if that was the case Kant wouldn’t be driving it anymore. Style would have claimed it already.

It was Kant who didn’t warn his friend what he was getting into. it was also Kant who manipulated and guilt tripped Style into continueing it. Style wanted to stop the moment he knew about Fadel and Style. it was Kant who started I’m going to jail, whose going to watch my brother etc.

You do not need enemies when you have a friend like Kant, who did not give one ounce for Style, Bison, or his younger brother!

He’s 1.90m. I think it just depends on which country you live, I live in the Netherlands, dudes here go op to 2.00/2.10. Friend of mine is 1.94.

I started watching this for FirstKhao, but with episode 2 my heart started to change. I’m noticing that I just smile and get happy when the scenes with JoongDunk begin. They are so natural together, beautiful chemistry. So yes I feel the same.

I feel like out of the two couples FadelStyle have a more chance of getting happy together. Kant and Bison haven’t really had any vulnerable moments or talks together, where Style and Fadel have had them. They are slowly opening up to each other, Fadel is slowly letting go of his walls. And lets be real Style doesn’t have any alternative motives, he just wanted to help out his friend and in the process fell in love.

How did you expect them to show it?

I have been saying it from the first moment we met “the mother” that she comes across as a female version of Tony (from Pitbabe). That she uses the kids for her own advantage, I also have kind of a hard time believing, that every target is who she says they are. Like Bison asked for the evidence when they got their new target, and she waved it away with a “oh they deal in drugs and traffic humans”, or something in those lines.

There is a big difference between a guy who is closed of and mysterious, and a guy who kills for a living and has already shown he is stronger and more trigger happy then you (the scene with the guys from the club come to mind).

But from the two couples I do think that Fadel and Style have the most chance to work out in the end. I see Bison getting just unhinged when he finds out about Kant.

I don’t know, but it seems as Style will handle, accept it maybe better. The fact that he even went back to the gym, shows that he still is interested in Fadel. I do not for a second believe he is doing it only for Kant

For some of us it’s not on Gaga or iQIYI, so we need to improvise!

First time I watched the Original was without any of the NC scenes because I watched it on YouTube, which only had the cut version, but that’s beside the point. First time I watched it I absolutely loved every minute of it! You are doing yourself a dishonor to not watch the original, but you do you. But please don’t assume people are recommending you watch the original of a story only because it has NC scenes!

As somebody who has watched multiple Japanese BL, I cannot remember more then half of them. I find they forgettable. Don’t get me wrong they have some good once, but most of them after a month (or two) I cannot remember what a series was about.

I think Taiwanese and Thai BL are so far the once’s I like to watch. Korean is hit or miss, Taiwanese cannot do wrong. And Chinese I do not count (for obvious reasons)
