I agree, fanservice can be fun when it's more natural and you can tell the actors are friends who genuinely get…
EXACTLY! No other genre does this. You never see actors and actresses from straight romances trying to go around parading as a couple to raise fan excitement. It only happens in BLs. IDK where this originated from, it's such a problematic thing and super uncomfortable to watch as well. For e.g I recently watched an interview with the main couple of HIStory4 and it was so awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Esp when they played that game where they eat two ends of a candy together (I forgot what it's called LOL!).
We need more unique Kdramas like this and Be Melodramatic in Kdrama world with eccentric, idiosyncratic characters, strong female characterisation and butterfly inducing romances.
I still don't understand what message they were trying to send through Jae Hoon and Ha Yoon's terrible relationship.…
He ends up together with her because this drama's about life and life just works out that way sometimes. Just take real world parallelism, most cases of domestic abuse whether physical or emotional are never reported and most of the couples never part ways. In fact on the contrary, it'd have felt out of place for him to leave her to be with Han Joo if you ask me.
It's 2021 and I'm still yearning for this drama. Time to re-watch.
Also can we have a drama starring Lee Joobin (Lee So Min)-Kim Myungjoon (Lee Min Joon) already?? They were so adorable in this, one of the highlights for me. Also more Jeon Yeo Bin-Son Seok Koo please.
Now I am in the crux of "to continue" or "to drop"I can't believe I'll be in this -_-
I'm in the same bubble as you. So far, the show has been getting on my nerves due to the bad humour and annoying characters. But I feel like it could get better once the show actually starts progressing the story. So confused on if I should drop or continue it.
SO very dark. Also the fans are even worse. I mean look at the amount of criticism Mean got after he said he didn't wanna do BLs anymore or the death threats Zee got for acting with Saint from SaintPerth fans. It's crazy. Fujoshis are such toxic bunch.
LOVED Episode 11 due to its exposure to how fan service deeply affects the actors and their personal lives. I've always been someone who never liked how these companies try to push off fanservice to bring in viewers. I mean sure if it's someone who're comfortable enough with each other like MaxTul, then I'm all for it but often times it just feels so forced and uncomfortable to watch. I liked the fact that it brought attention to this side of the BL industry.

Btw also recently Singto left GMMTV as well on top of that, I'm sure he wants out completely.
