I like this drama a lot. Fighting scene at the end is cool, but so illogical. How does ML beat his senior brother…
SGD was never that powerful to begin with. LXY exceeded his master long time before he became no. 1.
The only one who came close to LXY was DFS, but even DFS lost to a poisoned LXY and needed 10 years and help to recover from the fight. That's how powerful LXY was.

There was no specific explanation why SGD exploded.
Some speculate it was because SGD continues to reach for the throne and exerting what power he still has with broken meridians. So he exploded.
I thought JLQ might have poison SGD. Her character will not allow SGD to obtained the throne without trying to mess with his plan.
But I could be wrong, maybe someone else can provide an answer.
