Lol, it's all good. I know that some people care about spoilers so I try to be mindful.

I personally dont care because 1.) I tend to care more about the HOW we got there rather than the what happens. 2.) I like having more content to theorize with between episodes. and 3.) Previews can be quite misleading when they want to be.

Yea, Li Gong is definitely at or near his breaking point. Between the second drunk kiss, him being dragged into the blind date mess, Ze Shou's offhand comments about Li Gong being important, etc - i dont think he can take much more. Especially with Ze Shou being in danger - and in danger as a result of helping Li Gong's case.

I wont go into details about what the preview and trailer are suggesting about the next episode. ;)

Yea I think they're neighbors. But for sure, it's easy to miss that information in their past conversations.

Yea, he always seems dodgy when it comes to those 2 nights with the drunk kisses. Even going out of his way to make it known he doesn't remember.

And besides, i didn't contradict your opinion on the pacing or the characters. I stated why the things that bother you don't bother me, and asked why you are still on the boards if you don't like the show so much.

You don't see me on your threads telling you about why your opinion doesn't matter. I'm not even saying that on this one.

I was simply saying that instead of watching episode after episode of all these shows that you cant seem to find anything good about, and commenting after each episode about how much you dislike them on comment threads that ARE enjoying them - find stuff you do enjoy. Why waste your time and spread all the negativity?

Criticize by all means. Make your opinion known. Leave a negative review. But why go around hounding people that have different tastes than you?

If you don't like it - as you've said plenty of times - why are you still watching? Spend your time on something you actually enjoy.

I personally like the slower and less-angsty approach this show is taking. It balances out the more roller coaster-esque series i'm watching. Just because you aren't the audience, doesnt mean there isn't an audience.

I feel like Ze Shou knows. His facial expressions at the bar and at the school suggest that he knows Li Gong's feelings and is aware of his own to at least some degree. But he doesn't want to do anything about it due to his mom situation when he was younger. And he's hoping that if he doesn't address it, nothing will have to change and they can stay like this.

It's an exercise in futility, but alas - I think that's what's happening right now. But yea, I'm pretty confident he knows.

I think it was a good way to bring up that whole unrequited pain he's got. You know, seeing himself in another's shoes. Ultimately thats what's going to lead to action.

Granted, it couldve been done through one of his friends - but then he wouldn't feel so torn up about it.

I think you said it really well (and i know my previous comment didnt address it) - Aoki and Kouta have similar personas that they put forward, but they differ in a very important way: Aoki's is genuine; Kouta's is mostly faked. I wont say entirely faked though, bc he seemed genuinely giddy and hyper when things actually started to work out for him.

My earlier comment was more about how scenes get played out, not about their actual character personalities.

Mm. You bring up EXCELLENT points about how the after being drunk portion of this trope gets played out. Especially with the forgetting-everything and caring for the drunk person points. I suppose its the reason i prefer the equally and similarly overused "care for sick person" trope over the drunk trope.

Thankfully this instance didnt use it as confession fodder (it even made a nod to the trope and swerved, lol). I think it was just a way to get Amber to stay the night (leading to the near possible-trans reveal and seeing/hearing Wen-Wen's doll story). Bc afterall, Amber is quite cautious and wouldve found a reason to go home if he was capable of it. So it wouldve either been drunk, sickness, weather, or lockdown that wouldve led to it.

Based on the temple story in the first episodes (and in the trailer), i think its meant to act as a parallel - especially when it got brought up about the possibility of the story possibly being about gay lovers - showing Amber's fear of not being accepted and how it could keep him from being w his loved one.

Alternatively Amber and Ah Le could be the reincarnations of the original lovers from the temple tale.

The comments on a tribute video for them all say they do end up together.

The show itself is not BL, but there is a mlm side couple.

Thank you for bringing up the reincarnation point. I really do wonder how much of a grasp people have on this "reincarnation" concept that theyre throwing around.

But i disagree on the rest. For one thing, we only see the very top of his torso. Typical placement of surgical scars for gender reassignment is below what they showed us.Also, you do realize that everyone reacts differently to being drunk right? Ive seen a wide variety of people being drunk and dont see anything bizarre about his behavior. Now, as for how long it took him to realize he wasnt dreaming after he woke up - that seemed a bit odd to me admittedly.

Its the same theories we've all been hashing since the first episode. The only new ones are the heart surgery theory and the soul possession theory.

We've got Trans/intersex; Twin brother; Raised as a girl; Genetic Experiment; and i think there was one more.

Its literally impossible for this to be a reincarnation plot with the timelines and ages of these character. Reincarnation is the a soul being reborn after death (put simply). In order to be reincarnation, Amber would have to be significantly younger than he is.


And another person said that the actor DID say his character was trans. Either way, no one has provided links or videos to any of this supposed commentary. And it would be a spoiler - as it is obviously a central mystery of this story.

I was seeing people on social media comparing this to Kieta Hatsukoi and i honestly couldn't understand where the resemblance would come from, until I started watching. Kouta has the same hyperness as Aoki, as well as the semi-scheming qualities that Aoki showed from time to time. Very facepalmingly adorable. I enjoyed the entire first episode. <3
