The cinematography is the reason why I think we should give the production some credits, however, the scene skipping…
Like look, I am a big advocate of not spoon-feeding me everything. I love reading between the lines, and I find that doing so will make my experience all that much more enjoyable and immersive. But this series is taking it a little too far at times. And I can 100% see the confusion even on those moments that I did catch on to.
The cinematography is the reason why I think we should give the production some credits, however, the scene skipping…
Their perception of timelines in general seem quite off, since the beginning. I remember my immersion was completely thrown off with the SanAii bed scene. It just didn't make sense with Aii's character that they'd established in previous episodes. Especially since it at most was only a couple days since Aii started admitting to himself that there were feelings there.
And I don't think Thai universities have this large of a break between semesters. It's been a month since the basketball game (as pieced together from Fah's dialogue), which was at least a week after finals (because they had been practicing for several days, and San and Aii took that vacation trip thing).
They were all worried that hearing about their success would make Torn feel depressed and left behind and remind…
And Torn's reassurances that he was okay with them trying out wouldn't make much sense if it was about kicking him to the curb. Instead, it shows that they were worried that them trying out, while he's not able to, would hurt him. And they felt like they were being disloyal considering how he was instrumental to them getting the try-out invitation in the first place (i believe we saw this tidbit in one of the texts Fah received on his phone - but I could be wrong).
They were all worried that hearing about their success would make Torn feel depressed and left behind and remind…
Yea, a rewatch might help. They're not trying out as a team, the team just got the invite. They're trying out as individuals. And there was a conversation with Fah (and bits that could be overheard in other conversations) that they were debating whether or not they should try out, since Torn was the reason they got so far).
So it was a bit like a replay of what Fah had to decide with his club try out the episode before.
Despite a few standout scenes (like the bunk bed scene a couple episodes ago), and a great performance by Suar (he's got really expressive eyes), I really don't feel notable chemistry between the leads. Which makes me very sad, as I adore the friends-to-lovers trope, and had been defending them for so many episodes in the hopes that they were just trying to show the awkwardness of going from friends to lovers.
It seems like these actors just don't mesh well. Tae did pretty decent in Y Destiny. And he seems to have good chemistry with the other character who returned this episode. And even though this is his first lead role, Suar is killing it when he's analyzed by himself. Those "siren eyes" in that last episode were really well done, as well as his expressions in that conversation with Fah about having liked him for so long. But as a collective, I really don't feel it. And that intimate scene just made it all the more apparent.
I probably wouldn't be as disappointed if they weren't the mains. Still like the show though. I'm intrigued with how they are all going to move forward. And the cinematography is quite beautiful.
Iβm confused with the time jump. Is Torn in his 2nd year now because 10 months has past since his injury? Did…
Slight correction. Recovery takes 10 months. But Fah mentioned in the beginning that he has 9 months left. So it's been approximately a month between the two episodes.
Torn should still probably be on crutches though....
Yes, his voice is actually really deep - so it's pretty distinctly different from Mek's voice in the series. And you can tell in a few select scenes that the voice doesnt quite fit.
I think i heard they kept his laughs though. Those are hard to dub over.
Iβm confused with the time jump. Is Torn in his 2nd year now because 10 months has past since his injury? Did…
He was saying that recovery takes 10 months, not that 10 months has already happened. It's probably only a time jump of a few days to a few weeks. Because the track team is still upset over that fallen baton. And a club would not wait that long to recruit the basketball members. The only things that have happened between this episode and last episode is that Torn had surgery, and Dome broke up with Vee's sister. The only unrealistic thing with this time jump is that Torn isnt on crutches. But yea, in one of the early scenes it said his recovery was gonna be 10 months. But yet he can't play yet. So those 10 months have not happened yet.
It's not Thanu and Phai because during the votes, there is a majority of people who voted for the Thanu/Wayu couple.…
I was livid when I had seen those results after season 1. I genuinely didn't understand the appeal. Wayu hardly had any character depth in the first season, and I really hoped they would make it where Wayu spent time to learn who he is without being attached to a relationship.
And there really wasn't (and still isn't) anything there that provided any chemistry or depth to the ThanuWayu couple. It just never made any sense, and I genuinely cannot begin to understand the logic that went into those poll results.
Like was it because they didn't want the actor outside of a pair? And everyone was too mad at Pha to consider that he might have left for a reason outside of his control (not that it excuses Pha of all blame, mind you - but this poll was before we found out the reason, so it was still something that should have been considered).
The acting in this drama is unforgivable and the plot is so cliche. Why is this so popular?
I think the predictable cliche-ness can be a nice break from the seriousness of the world, and other dramas. So I don't think being cliche is necessarily a bad thing - just not for everyone.
As for the acting/over the top characters, yea - i definitely understand the complaint. Part of it was for the sake of comedy, but it's not my kind of comedy. But as the show goes on, and we start getting into the plot more, they do seem to calm down and you can see more of their positive traits (like Shaofei's smile for instance - and his bouts of being logical).
If not for the spoilers i've seen, reassurances from my watchparty partner, and the existence of Jack's character, I probably would have dropped pretty early on, I'm not gonna lie. So I get the dislike, but I can also see what people like about it.
The biggest problem with this series is that it rewrites Fiatβs slutty past and goes into all these story contortions…
I don't think they want us to forget. And he has never denied the fact that he slept around to get Leo's attention. It was brought up several times. Only one of those affairs was out of manipulation - and it was one from early on - when he was young and hurt enough to be easily manipulated.
I more think it was trying to say the same message as Tin and Tul (LBC), and Type (TT) but in a different context - that you can simultaneously be a perpetrator and a victim. In fact, most perpetrators are/were victims at some point.
The blackmailing plot was definitely out of left field though, i really dont know why it was added - besides to put the evidence right in Leo's face that Fiat had slept around. Which could have been done in a better way.
We're entitled to do or think what ever the hell we want, You do you and prioritize whatever the hell you like,
Do you know of any less problematic thai trans or kathoey individuals in your eyes? Because I will agree, some of the things that Jennie has done in the past have rubbed me the wrong way, and I can get why some people may not like her.
We're entitled to do or think what ever the hell we want, You do you and prioritize whatever the hell you like,
Absolutely, your own perceptions and reception to this show is important. And I hope you won't watch it if it doesn't provide some sort of enjoyment for you.
But as international fans, we cannot blindly bash a show that is so culturally bound. That is what I am getting at. We do not have an equivalent to kathoeys or the perceptions and associations attached to that identity. So paying attention to the people who live with that label, or surrounded by people that do, is important.
Could someone let me know of the extra scenes in the new version?
Im still rewatching, but right now it seems like its the same as what was on LINE TV. I think it matters that its uncensored bc when they aired on TV, they had to take scenes out from what i remember hearing.
Now available on GagaOOLala as an "uncensored version". I'm not sure I like the series enough to rewatch it just…

And Intouch still has the "see you in season 2" tweet pinned, despite being active on Twitter, and Bitter Sweet coming out presumably before a potential My Engineer Season 2.
They also posted a Coming Soon on their Facebook and twitter in September, which Mommae (the author) even shared on her facebook: https://fb.watch/bx43Dw8M50/ And Bittersweet promo started rolling out less than a month later - too short of a time to say they completely changed directions.
So I don't think they've cancelled it at this point. They might just be waiting for everyone to become available. Perth has been busy with lots of projects and cameos, Cooper just graduated, and I think I heard MD's contract was up - so they might also be trying to work something out with him. And switching out Ryan or working around his character's absence has to be tricky - especially since S2 would presumably focus on RamKing, and Boss is a good friend of King, and Mek is attached at the hip to him. GMMTV's recent series aside, Thai production companies like to stay close to the source material whenever possible - especially with the mains.
(For those who don't know there was some behind the scenes drama with Ryan, which also resulted in them leaving him out of any post-filming appearances and promotions, and potentially being at least part of the reason they dubbed over his voice - there's 2-3 different rumors as to what exactly happened, but nothing official so I won't go into that. But regardless, he in all likelihood will NOT be in season 2 ).
I absolutely adore his singing voice. So thankful for Cutie Pie for leading me to his music, and his acting. Looking forward to what all he does moving forward.

Still a shit and childish move. But it's not like they were doing it maliciously.
