Ooh, the casual lesbian/bisexual representation! I love it.
JaeYoung's friend admitted to having had a girlfriend at one time. In the viki subs, this is after admitting a brief interest in JaeYoung at one time. But someone said it was a mistranslation, and that she was interested in the girl JaeYoung had dated.
So, she's either bisexual/polysexual or a lesbian :)
Can anyone provide any context on the horse hair thing that Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen carry? I've tried looking…
I believe that would be a fly-whisk, used for swatting flies. Which would be useful for a wanderer. It's also seen as a symbol in daoism and buddhism, both of which are foundations of the xianxia and wuxia genres. It can also be used as a weapon.
Most definitely not a romcom. It's a fantasy series adapted from a BL novel, but reduced to "bromance" due to censorship. Despite this, the fandom still largely considers it a BL, just one that does not explicitly demonstrate as such - because the production company did a good job of keeping the romantic undertones.
They were all worried that hearing about their success would make Torn feel depressed and left behind and remind…
You obviously weren't the only one to interpret it this way. The production team could've done a better job at establishing it in the conversations with the team.
What I don't understand is why they never cast him in a bad boy role. I mean just just at him here: so hot 🤧🤧🤧https://youtube.com/shorts/YE36m5fU4gY?feature=share
Singto recently did an interview with The MATTER where he talks about Paint With Love, his own perfectionist tendencies, how he picks his roles, lgbtq+ activism, his desire to play a bad guy, his photography hobby, his struggles with depression (and his Save Me From Myself tattoo it inspired), getting ordained, plans for his future, and more:
The cinematography is the reason why I think we should give the production some credits, however, the scene skipping…
Like look, I am a big advocate of not spoon-feeding me everything. I love reading between the lines, and I find that doing so will make my experience all that much more enjoyable and immersive. But this series is taking it a little too far at times. And I can 100% see the confusion even on those moments that I did catch on to.
The cinematography is the reason why I think we should give the production some credits, however, the scene skipping…
Their perception of timelines in general seem quite off, since the beginning. I remember my immersion was completely thrown off with the SanAii bed scene. It just didn't make sense with Aii's character that they'd established in previous episodes. Especially since it at most was only a couple days since Aii started admitting to himself that there were feelings there.
And I don't think Thai universities have this large of a break between semesters. It's been a month since the basketball game (as pieced together from Fah's dialogue), which was at least a week after finals (because they had been practicing for several days, and San and Aii took that vacation trip thing).
They were all worried that hearing about their success would make Torn feel depressed and left behind and remind…
And Torn's reassurances that he was okay with them trying out wouldn't make much sense if it was about kicking him to the curb. Instead, it shows that they were worried that them trying out, while he's not able to, would hurt him. And they felt like they were being disloyal considering how he was instrumental to them getting the try-out invitation in the first place (i believe we saw this tidbit in one of the texts Fah received on his phone - but I could be wrong).
They were all worried that hearing about their success would make Torn feel depressed and left behind and remind…
Yea, a rewatch might help. They're not trying out as a team, the team just got the invite. They're trying out as individuals. And there was a conversation with Fah (and bits that could be overheard in other conversations) that they were debating whether or not they should try out, since Torn was the reason they got so far).
So it was a bit like a replay of what Fah had to decide with his club try out the episode before.
Despite a few standout scenes (like the bunk bed scene a couple episodes ago), and a great performance by Suar (he's got really expressive eyes), I really don't feel notable chemistry between the leads. Which makes me very sad, as I adore the friends-to-lovers trope, and had been defending them for so many episodes in the hopes that they were just trying to show the awkwardness of going from friends to lovers.
It seems like these actors just don't mesh well. Tae did pretty decent in Y Destiny. And he seems to have good chemistry with the other character who returned this episode. And even though this is his first lead role, Suar is killing it when he's analyzed by himself. Those "siren eyes" in that last episode were really well done, as well as his expressions in that conversation with Fah about having liked him for so long. But as a collective, I really don't feel it. And that intimate scene just made it all the more apparent.
I probably wouldn't be as disappointed if they weren't the mains. Still like the show though. I'm intrigued with how they are all going to move forward. And the cinematography is quite beautiful.
I’m confused with the time jump. Is Torn in his 2nd year now because 10 months has past since his injury? Did…
Slight correction. Recovery takes 10 months. But Fah mentioned in the beginning that he has 9 months left. So it's been approximately a month between the two episodes.
Torn should still probably be on crutches though....
Yes, his voice is actually really deep - so it's pretty distinctly different from Mek's voice in the series. And you can tell in a few select scenes that the voice doesnt quite fit.
I think i heard they kept his laughs though. Those are hard to dub over.

He was saying that recovery takes 10 months, not that 10 months has already happened. It's probably only a time jump of a few days to a few weeks. Because the track team is still upset over that fallen baton. And a club would not wait that long to recruit the basketball members. The only things that have happened between this episode and last episode is that Torn had surgery, and Dome broke up with Vee's sister. The only unrealistic thing with this time jump is that Torn isnt on crutches. But yea, in one of the early scenes it said his recovery was gonna be 10 months. But yet he can't play yet. So those 10 months have not happened yet.

Still a shit and childish move. But it's not like they were doing it maliciously.
