I think in the beginning, with the way this was advertised, it was hard to tell if My Universe was an anthology or a project.
Like, Y-Destiny, Our Skyy, etc are Anthologies. But En of Love, Buddy Line Y Animal, Star and Sky, SKIU, etc are projects. And even though it had "The Series" tacked on, doesnt make it a series in a traditional sense. For instance, Be Mine The Series was advertised as such even when they were intending to do 4 full-sized dramas, making it a project.
Once I see that something is an anthology or omnibus, I just keep track of that page in my upcoming lists. If I feel the need to keep track of info from the sub-stories, i just do so in the notes on that list item, rather than keeping each sub-story in the list. Especially since we're not sure in what order these stories will air in the anthology.
I'm not surprised this has its own page with all of the confusion around it, but this is not its own show. This…
MDL is starting to create separate pages for all sub-stories in anthologies and omnibuses. It's not just to prevent confusion, but also so that users can document the ones they care about, and ignore the ones they dont. It also helps with ratings and listing directors and screenwriters. The other pages are probably coming soon. Theyre a bit understaffed at the moment, as well as swamped by the sudden surge of announced series.
Yea, the agenda is what got me too. It felt like an anti-abortion ad, with a side of "people make mistakes, go ahead and forgive." Perhaps with a longer story or less focus on the period of ghosting, we could see Jane working towards getting forgiveness?
It just feels really really odd that what ultimately made the mom come around is the fact that her daughter's partner got accidentally pregnant from a one-night stand. And yes. yes. I know there was more to it, as she overheard the conversation, but that is kinda the "bad summary" of it. š
Aww thanks for the shout-out. I'm glad you liked it! It wasn't my thing personally, but i can definitely see the good things about it. While I was doing research on the film, I actually learned that it was based on a real story of the director's friend. Which is a fun little fact to know. And perhaps a reflection of why there is only one real perspective given.
Correct. In Love Rain and Love Storm (the novels), Leon, the twins, and Natsu were not there. Instead, the novels were connected to other novels via different cameo characters (who do not have a drama adaptation). So to keep LITA anchored in the TV Mame-verse, she chose different cameo characters.
Which is probably what sheāll do here as well. Since the cameo characters in this novel are not in the TV Mameverse yet.
i think 16 episodes is enough to tell a good story! did some quick maths, and if each episode is 45 minutes long…
I think itll work too. Namhom said that all 8 will be mains, which will mean near equal screentime. Since all take place during roughly the same timeline, itd be good to see the events happen as they actually do, rather than keeping track of the chronology in our heads (which many casual viewers are not good at and get confused easily because of).
Plus, itās less risky this way from an investment and viewership standpoint. Not just because of investers wanting to see payoff sooner rather than later, and not wanting to spend more money than necessary. But also if one series āflopsā because people didnt like the couple as much or because of bad timing with other series, then we risk the other stories not being adapted. Plus, a lot can happen with the cast in that time - and most people aren't accepting of an actor change.
