It's just the mess of Xie Zheng's own making. It's as simple as that. He knew very well that how Fan Changyu is sincere toward her love ones and to which length she'll go for them.

Today was Shi Hu's turn.

She's willing to take care of him, and most importantly, he wants to be taken care of by her.

He even refused the marriage to Grand Princess before. He's no fool. Unless he wants it himself, nobody can force it on him.

Even in the drama, she's still 18/19 by ep25. It's only a few months from the beginning of the story.

ikr, sometimes ppl forgot that majority of characters in historical novels (especially FLs) are 15-16 yr old.

Mostly time I guess, since there's a lot of major plot points still yet to be covered.

I liked how they introduced Shi Hu early in the drama. Give the viewers a better image of what kind of opponent Shi Hu is. And the build up like you mentioned.

I just check ep26 preview. From what was shown, it's exactly as the novel. I'm pumped for tmr's episode. 🤩

Should be coming up pretty soon imo. Haven't checked the previews yet but it should be either in 26 or 27.

I'm okay with the bear scene getting cut, albeit a bit sad for that too.

But her duel with Shi Hu is non-negotiable. Let us witness Fan Changyu in all the glory.

haha, it's alright in the novel if you read it with proper context. Fan Changyu is no less badass in those parts.

Fan Changyu acted like a bandit raiding the mountain. When her hands were free and thinking of how Changning and Yan Zheng had no blankets to sleep with at night, she grabbed two cloaks hanging in the tents as she ran.

Passing where the rebels cooked, she spotted a whole roasted lamb on a spit meant to taunt the Yan state troops on the mountain. She draped the cloaks over the salt bags, freeing her hands to grab the pole holding the roasted lamb.

The returning rebels watched dumbfounded as she ran swiftly while carrying a bag of salt in one hand and a roasted lamb in the other.

What we've seen in ep25 totally makes sense, and I have no issue with it.

Just that a bit sad over not being able to see the following scene from the novel on screen, would have been hell of a scene lol.

This is like a drama with all the stars aligned.

All aspects of the drama are just really well done.

Self referenceing pronouns used by Imperial family.

Zhen - used by Emperor

Gu - used by Crown Prince

Ben Wang - used by Prince

Ben Gong - used by Empress, High Ranking Consorts, Princess

Ai Jia - used by Empress Dowager

In ep24, Changyu thought "Bengong" is a name, and Princess said her surname was Qi. Hence Qi Bengong.

haha, that's a good one. We know it ain't happening, but imagining it in Changyu's innocent deadpan face is enough for a chuckle. And let Xie Zheng spit blood for a finishing touch.

On a side note, I think this is my first time seeing a play on the palace self referenceing pronouns like "Ben Gong" in a way Fan Changyu did.

In we left it up to her, we gonna see "Qi Zhen", "Qi Gu", and "Qi Ben Wang" too lol

Ep24 was what I've imagined while reading the novel plus more because of the addition of Princess. So much fun while retaining the essence of the source material.

This adaptation is just too good so far. One more totally satisfied novel reader here 👋👋

It was implied at the very end of the novel in the extra stories. So, drama may or may not include it. Would be nice if they do though, such as warm wrap up for the kids as well since they went through a lot.
