The other girl knew Jinqi rejected their marriage talk, and also noticed enough that Jinqi has someone in his mind. And did a thorough check on Jinqi's movements. Those were enough information to form a conclusion.

Lan Xiang doesn't know Jinqi is in talk for marriage with the Duke family. That alone devoids her of a crucial piece of information to link it back to Duke family or guard against anything. There was nothing else that indicate she's in danger as well. She's smart, but not omniscient.

I mean.. logically speaking, how would she even sense those 'dangers'. There're not enough clues on the table for her to connect what even hit her. It's not like Jinqi is sharing all his life updates to her, or does she has a reason to keep tab on all his movements.

What should she be cautious about at current state though. She's free, doing an honest trade, and living a simple life. She's content with her life. She's not doing some grand undertaking like revenge as well. I think it fits the current circumstances all things considered.

When the circumstances change again in the coming arc, she'll be back in her zone. She's anything but inadaptable, as we've seen throughout.
