This is a very angsty, political heavy, and character driven drama. There are a few sweet moments in the later half of the story, but not at the amount of swoony romance dramas out there. And characters do take losses, and face consequences for their actions. So, it's not flowers and butterflies throughout.
Keep on watching if you are fine with those. This is a good drama all around.

If you read into all the context, she was hurt to see Zhao Ling descending into despair, and helpless that she couldn't help it.
She said "What can I make you to become more alive?" Then, follows by "If you are not happy being with me, do you want us to divorce?".
The emphasis was in "if you are not happy being with me", Zhao Ling's feelings. It's a form of expression that she's willing to leave if he thinks she's a burden. She was not saying "I want divorce".
