Yes, both of them are real princes from the royal family.Mo Jingli is the son of the former crown prince.Mo Xiuyao…
Mo Xiuyao and Mo Jingli were in the same situation. Benevolance in the sense of 'hey, we even let the traitors and offsprings of the previous Emperor live' to show the court and public that they are not tyranical.
So, both of them ended up as titled Princes without any sort of authority. That's how I conjectured so far.
About the marriage swap - they are very wary of both Mo Jingli and Ye Li (Lishan Academy). For all they know, Lishan Academy is pretty much alive. So, there's no way they would hand over this connection and massive network to Mo Jingli just like that.
Does Ye Li know martial arts? Sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn’t?
Yes, she knows, the martial arts is hers. She seems to have trained from a young age.
Though, so far, it looks like her conscious self can't actively use it. Only in times of crisis that her 'Master Zhu' personality comes out to do the cleaning.

The edict is mostly about summoning the former Prince Ding back to the capital, so the content shouldn't include conferring the title to MXY.
Also, restoring his title took place only after he was out of the prison. So, it's more likely that the current Emperor (and Empress Dowager) bestowed upon him as a show of benevolance.
It sure is fun to learn all those various titles lol. I remember them because in many of the novels, the promotion to Qinwang, Gonzhu, Junwang and Junzhu were such a big deal.
What @Foxy meant was the differences with the novel. There, the Emperor is a grown adult and no regent Empress Dowager in the court. The Emperor in the novel is also a nasty villain.

Ep 22 I think, during MXY assassination scene, he referred himself as such. Only this one instance in the entire drama I believe.
The dialogue is something like "Assassinating a prince inside the palace, have you all lost your mind?". Subtitle is just 'Prince' so listen to the dialogue instead.
I am honestly disappointed because the novel is really good!
It's apples and oranges actually.
Although the novel is good, both the story and characters are rather straight forward. The drama focuses on those aspects and significantly better.
Novel is better in the scale of the story which is kind of a given because it's a text media. If you like politics, wars, and state-building, it's a good read.
Drama is miles better in characters and plot. Novel is more straight forward but much larger in scale, and both leads are significantly more OP.
I like both because they offer different flavours.
I hope I'm fine lol 😂
The tension is palpable, and looks like it's gonna continue the entire Lishan arc. We are really in for a treat with this.

So, I don't find Sui Zuidie's reasoning that ridiculous. Because there really are ppl like that.

We are loving this drama for it as well, it's nostalgic and also refreshing.
Though, airing (express) will be finished on 28th. You can slowly catch up during the week, and join us on the final episodes.
We gonna be in a ride for the next few days.
