Oh, so ep 10 is the equivalent plot for MJL kidnapping Ye Li out of the palace in the novel right?
I think it's Han Mingyue, on behest of his crush Su Zuidei who's drooling for MXY.
If I recall correctly, Ye Li was kidnapped out of the palace while visiting her sister who's a consort in the palace. She was housed in a villa outside of the capital just like we saw in ep10. Hence I was connecting the two.
The cliff falling plot later is the major one though... not sure they'll reuse cliff falling again, or replace it with something else. But, MXY's hair turn white in the clips, so it should still happen one way or another.
As novel reader⦠Drama deviates really a huge way from novel at the point you canāt trace next drama plot…
This is the type of adaptation I want to see. Be bold, make meaningful changes, and deliver on them.
Not those 'to fit a standard drama length, let's cut this part out of the story, don't touch anything else' type of lazy adaptations. Continuity be damned.
Am I the only one who likes Ye Ying's drama character? Shes so naive and cute.. She wears her heart on the sleeve…
imo, the drama Ye Ying is there to serve as a contrast to Ye Li, and by extension, Prince Ding's entire household. We see someone who has been sheltered her whole life and untouched by worldly affairs vs someone who has already been through so much.
Though, I would not be surprised if Ye Ying descends into madness later down the line due to Mo Jingli since he's a walking time bomb just like in the novel so far.
Book readers...who ends up emperor in the book? Does the little annoying emperor keep his throne? Is their a change?…
It's a very complex political situation in the novel. It's also not sure drama will follow the same plots regarding the politics.
Basically, in the novel, after several wars and set backs, this country was left with a fraction of their former glory. Both the current Emperor and Prince Li didn't end up with the throne in the end.
Yessss I feel this is healing me of the emotional pain I had when A Splendid Match ended! I had started rewatching…
Yunchu's Vengeance novel's first half is pretty good. Second half is a bit so-so to me.
For Where the Mask Ends novel, I think the drama will be much more interesting because the drama features dual female leads, both played by Tian Xiwei. Novel is more like a standard FMC rebirth story with only one female lead.
It's a major plot point so read on only if you want spoiler. . . . . . . Ye Li was pregnant with their first child at the time. She was hunted down by enemy armies because bad guys want to take her as hostage to blackmail Mo Xiuyao. Shit happend during the action and she was presumed dead. Mo Xiuyao almost went made due to extreme grief and his entire head turned white overnight.
OMG... she really knows how to coax him. That was so adorable. Who wouldn't fold instantly to that! haha
Now I'm rewatching those scenes again š
MJL in the novel is an egomaniac wreck. He really deserves the ending he got in the novel. lol
(drama definitely won't give him that ending hahaha)

I can't quite recall some details around snake island arc Razzle mentioned above. But, it does involve cliff scaling.
