That fake facial hair is the funniest thing I’ve seen in any BL series and I laugh hard every time I think of it. If they wanted it to be funny, it wouldn’t be that funny.
All the elements are in place here but they're not clicking. Not enough drama, not enough mystery, not enough romance, not enough adventure, not enough humor, not enough action. Three episodes in and it's just bland. And Gawin, with that alpha male jaw and the velvety voice, as a naive 20yo is some miscasting – he's not bad, just miscast.
My man, if you tell us that nobody must know about the Golden Blood and that you should protect him at all costs, you don't just knock unconscious a thirsty vampire who knows about the Golden Blood *and* works for the police; you kill him.
I'm okay with absurdity and plot holes but if you set your own rules, you better damn follow your rules.
The problem with the series is Mo. It becomes clearer in the last third of the show. Not Mix’s fault but the character is boring and his indecisiveness is irritating, all the more when EVERYONE ELSE in the series is interesting or compelling. It starts getting to the point you start asking what Heng and Ten have seen in him. It’s a shame because the series is mostly fun but the last episodes were kind of a slog.
Wow, they didn’t spare the money in the last episode, but I still have a question. The series kept telling us this whole time that Mars was a failing band but they manage to pack an entire stadium?
The single thing I hate the most in these series is when they kiss once, twice, three times, say they are into the other person and the next episode they act like this has not happened a few seconds ago in the same scene.
Sammon’s puzzles are always interesting even when they don’t exactly pay off. But this one is even more interesting because of the discussion about assisted death. It’s been a really engaging drama that happens to be BL but it’ just one aspect of it. Cinematography is top notch, especially the night scenes.
Exposition is so heavy I had to watch the first six minutes three times.
Henchman walks over, looks into a (closed) window for a second and replies: No one here!
(Let’s also remember that unless there’s a retcon Nakan killed a journalist just for fun in the very first episode.)
